  1. so when the frame bends in rough activity the cab will bang against the bed and beat the crap out of it, ruining your truck.
  2. Looks like a dog fked a fish. EWWWWWWWWW
  3. closed circuit to flybrian, i made that comparo to our honda banger friends about a week ago already, and its even more obvious in the photos you selected....so maybe that XL7 is gonna be a helluva nice vehicle for the price and it looks like an ACURA!!!!!!!
  4. who's that? My buddy who got an 07 Avalanche LOVES the 17-18 consistent mpg he gets. meanwhile, 2 friends with pilots get 15-17.
  5. "It's no secret that most Americans are less than fond of diesels." WHY IS THAT? that is a misleading press statement. set aside the GM diesel fiasco (which everyone loved the GM diesels until they snapped headbolts) and we haven't had a chance to even get to know diesels! VW diesel fans love em! All the California rags and their diesel witch hunts and the lack of govt getting us refined diesel.......Americans would love diesel its just the radicals and government never gave us the chance.
  6. this thing is Daewoo all the way to the bank. it looks too narrow and too small. But really, the outlook sales gains will offset any vue sales losses. Only thing is the size of this may be deficient realted to the RAV4, CRV, and new Outbanger. I hope saturn doesn't screw this up. the current vue has near mid sized space. I bet the current vue is close to the original 4 dr blazer in seating size and almost in cargo size. if they lose space in transition and it becomes more Caliber size they are screwed.

hell, want a performance suv.....SRT8 GC or TB SS. cost you the same.

    KIA SEDONA

fold those seats down baby and let's swing! Throw a mood 'DVD" in the dual screens for inspiration! I hope that big dashboard pod gets them all 'utero'. The Kia serves it mission well, a value laden family van. Its a good effort, but very middle of the road and doesn't really advance the class any. I actually drove a used Merc Monterey literally an hour before that and the Kias powertrain and driving assets are much greater.....but then......feel the sheetmetal and open and close the power doors and hatch. The Merc did it effortlessly with no body flex and no groaning. On the Kia, things flexed and shivered a bit and made some uncomfortable noises. Just little things that remind you..oh yeah, its KOREAN.

    Acura RDX

guess its not an SUV then. its a CCCV.....crossover coffee cruising vessel. the rdx can tow one recently graduated and highly coveted sexy looking young professional female and her starbucks latte in easy fashion. in the meantime, the tahoe can tow the RDX on a trailer and still get great mpg.

    Acura RDX

assuming that the RDX chassis and body doesn't go all 'Ridgeline' on you from trying to tow 'so much'.

the tahoe prob gets better mpg with ethanol than the RDX gets with premium. to top it off, i know which one I would rather be in in case of a head on between the two.

IOW, I don't want to know how its held up in five years.

    KIA SEDONA

more later, but in short, went to drive a Sedona Saturday. In a lot of ways its a good product but in some ways it DOES NOT live up to all the hype its been getting. The Sienna, Odyssey AND QUEST are all superior. pros - willing engine, transmission, powertrain well sorted out, light and decently quick steering, manumatic available, seat adjusters on the door, warranty, spacious cons - slightly cheesy interior, suspension is too soft, does not feel seat of the pants durable for the long haul, 2nd row does not stow, cheap plastics and fabrics, boring gauges, cheap feeling power doors and rear hatch (when will it break), thin feeling sheet metal, could use a 6th gear.
  14. what a rube, that's 45 minutes of your important time you'll never get back. Let's see, surf porn or music / make complex car graphics. Not the choice I would make. boy, those A pillars, do match up. windshield too. firewall must be the same then. new platform to nissan must simply mean new subframe for the motor and revised front suspension using the same chassis mounting points. They spent the money on the new suspension and half shafts to rid the torque steer. The floorpan and fuel tank is likely the same. the alt and max share more parts than your young messed up minds can fathom. Ghosn is too cheap to design an all new car. there is a very liberal use of the term 'new platform' here. this is like saying the uplander is on a new platform vs. the venture.

the Acura EL? oh hey, that's a luxurious sports sedan right?I'm surprised they didn't introduce the RDX in the sands of Alberta where all the oil is, since its a prime consumer of it.
  16. the auto press would deride anyways and focus on cheap plastic.

    Acura RDX

to be more expensive than the Tahoe with half the cylinders and less gas mileage. was that a new MDX or the current model? No way they sell the 07 MDX for less than 40-45k.
  18. i swear the tan cloth fabric was even the exact same as the tan cloth used in the G6, same pattern, everything.
  19. samsung's plasma, CRT's and DLP's are all top notch also.
  20. i bet you the windshields are the same. front and rear door glass is probably the same too
  21. for reasons mentioned in my post above. and even if there's not one part shared, which i guess is very likely then I guess i would ask why did they bother to make them look so close.
  22. first off, in case you're living under a rock, the max and alt are built in the same plant, that alone implies platform and parts sharing. we already know the 06 altima and max shared a bunch of parts but not so many exterior pieces. now look here since the photos are not the exact same direction, but i've seen many other photos. my comparison here is how the cadillac BLS uses the saab 9-3 doors but has a bit of a black part on the C pillar to distinguish the BLS greenhouse from the Saab. I think we have this going on here. If you look at the fender to a pillar transition its about the same. the mirrors look about the same. Look at where the door handles are. The side door glass is likely shared parts I bet. The metal door frame around the window is the same I bet but the arc of the roof line is different. This is the BLS analogy. The rear part of the roof on the maxima is thicker and has the buttresses. On the Altima there is some black filler behind the window sill on the C pillar that is not on the maxima. I bet the lower door structure of the alt and max are the same.....the altima has a different door skin with the falling character line. But looks again, the arc/flares around the wheels are almost identical and look at the door cutlines are over the rear wheel. loosk the same. The front clips are slightly different and the hoods and front fenders are sculpted uniquely, but i bet the crash structure is the same. the rear of the alt has the most differences from the max, and is pretty much all unique, but again, the rear decklids while unique are similar enough to suggest innards being shared. Those headlight cluster outlines look too damn closes also. Ghosn would never spend the money for these cars to be so different yet look so close. Don't buy for a minute that the Altima's platform is "all new"....my guess is its revised a fair amount, but still has a fair amount of commonality with the current max. nissan wants to build these cars in the same plant, with flexible production based on demand. and if they can, share parts without people knowing.
  23. get an ipod it won't matter then
  24. its better than the camry.

    Acura RDX

nice interior. question though, .....did they stash a full 5 gallon tank of gas in the trunk area for when this fuel sucker runs through its main tank in about 100 miles?
