  1. quest (largest cargo area) comes in around 4200 pounds in S trim I think.
  2. let me put it to you this way. a cobalt felt much more substantial. it felt like a larger more stable car.
  3. sounds good. anyone ever been to RED ROBIN?
  4. was a 99 with the vvt and 5 speed. it simply wasn't good at speeds above 55 or so. If you needed to accelerate you had to DS to 3rd or 2nd and strip the tranny. in 4th or 5th there was no torque. it was peppy stoplight to stoplight with one person in the car and below maybe 45 or 50.
  5. well, that dash is not SLEEK. Its quite blocky. the tall center part is kind of grotesque in its erection like posture. The shifter hanging off the dash is ridiculous. It should be located as where Toyota and Kia have them located. Its absurd to raise the stack that high and then have those tall vents in the middle where the radio and climate controls should be, higher up. Why are they so low? It looks cushy though. And they seem to have retained interior innovation. Again, for all those who say Lambdas can substitute for a van, here again is proof as to why they can't and why you are stupid. Minivans are all about this sort of function and volume. Its hard to say if the press will roast these. The 4.0l 6 speed powertrain is quite good for this sort of vehicle (I've driven it). Styling is too conservative IMHO, but at least does not look cheap inside. you would all be amazed at how women tingle in the mid section when they see folding seats and power sliding doors and hatches.
  6. ZUNE = lol
  7. the hardest thing these days is putting buyers in a position to determine empirically for themselves what is the better solution. But, most people don't want the responsibility to make decisions like that themselves. they would prefer to pass the decision making buck to someone with 'credentials' i.e. the media........then if you f@#k up YOUR decision you can pass it off and blame the faceless Consumer Reports or the Ann Jobs' of the world who said you'd like the Toyota better because your skirt didn't get dirty on the door sill when you got in the car. Like I've said before, my Prizm which still has the same motor in today's Corolla had a deathly inadequate engine for keeping up with real freeway traffic, even with a stick. yet, EVERY car I have driven with a version of the ecotec, stick or automatic, has been a HOOT to drive and has had good power. I have driven like 10 cars with the ecotec i think Saturn L series with stick Satun Ion with stick Saturn Vue with stick Grand Am with stick Alero with automatic Cobalt with stick Cobalt with automatic Malibu with automatic Malibu classic with automatic Cavalier with stick HHR 2.4 with automatic now, its been a groaner in some cars because of no noise abatement. Isolated subframes and bushings and sound insulation and tuning may have done wonders in some of those cars. But I wouldn't have complained about the power in any of them, except maybe the HHR. And there are some heavy cars in that list. Regarding the Cobalts also, they have had solid chassis and decent bump asorption. The Cobalts I have driven have all been solid feeling. Especially for the price class.
  8. some veggie burgers and turkey burgers and boca burgers are quite good actually.
  9. underwhelming. interior better be nice and loaded with features, otherwise no one will give up the sienna or ody. I could see this topping the sedona though. the 4.0 litre 6 speed is a great combo for this vehicle, i've driven a pacifica so equipped.
  10. THE LAMBDAS ROCK, BUT THEY STILL ARE NOT TRUE MINIVANS.
  11. shame they won't hit showrooms forever. they are needed now.
  12. sansa's screens crack. sound quality lacks. read owner reviews at cnet.com ipod is the class and worth every penny.
  13. Millen returning; Lions 24-72 under his watch
  14. I LOVE YOU, MAN. NAH, REALLY, I LOVE YOU. the gore liberals haven't shut that place down yet?
  15. oh c'mon, what's wrong with a 'melting pot' sort of woman? survival of the fittest. can't blame her for wanting more suitors!!!!!!!!
  16. WHERE's THE BEEF?
  17. oh i dunno, consumer reports, anti American sentiment of many people in our country, greedy dealers trying to gouge, there's still lots of issues that need to be overcome
  18. I like DSC as an acronym. What i want to know, did they get rid of the thumb toggle switch on the shifter? That actually works well. I was wondering about the low mpg, but i bet when they retest the rice burner competition for 08, the Mali will be within 1-2 mpg across the board. And we all know GM's typically exceed EPA estimates, at least for the cars. As far as whing about whether this will intrude on Buick, that is exactly the sort of compete within GM mentality that has kept it from succeeding in the past. i think there still exists enough room to offer a distinct and feature laden Buick to sell apart from this. My big concern, how frickin long till this actually hits market. it could get lost in progress of others over time. But GM clearly has all bases covered. I would think they should offer bluetooth though and enhance the nav system to operate either via on star or via a storage system. I like that they kept the EPS at least for the 4 cylinder....assuming they tune it correctly. They covered their asses by keeping the hydraulic on the 6. Panorama sunroof, sweet. I would like to see them add a fold flat front seat like my 500's. Handy for cargo occassionally. 252 hp plenty I think, but to maintain interest over time I hope they put a 280hp version in the mix. A true manual or DSG type over time may help make a performance model. Really, this is what we all asked for, GM making the effort on things like 6 speed trannys, IRS multilink, DOHC motors, manumatics, incabin technology, airbags, stabilitrak, I mean c'mon, there is NOTHING to really bitch about this car. I am smiling. And it takes a lot to do that. Of course, i haven't seen the plastic yet or heard the cheap crappy OEM speakers.
  19. are white castles really burgers or osmething else entirely?
  20. yummy, that sounded good. occasionally i try some grass fed natural beef, that can be good. i love cracked pepper burgers. A nice thick layers of cracked corns on top, charred into the burger with a kaiser roll. With a mayo/paprika spread, mMmmmmmm Stilton burgers at the irish bar? MMMMMMMMMM you know, the WHOPPER is darn good sometimes. And the QUAD STACKER is a cheesegasm waiting to happen.
  21. My brother in law had a tbird turbo. It is possibly my most favorite car he or I have had. That car was classy and sophisticated (Ford USED to build them like that?). I think my original SHO was underrated. 89 SHO. But it did get some good press. My dad's 89 Deville was a tremendous car. That was underrated, just that it was a solid stately car.

    BURGERS

OK, thawed out a huge chunk of premium hamburger. Fired up the indoor 18,000 BTU gas grill and formed some supple, thick meat patties. Cooked them medium well over the hot gas flame and briquets. Hint of CHAR. Still a bit juicy. The 600 cfm hood could barely keep up. Gotta get rid of the critters before you put that meat in your mouth you know. Thawed out a nice wheat bun and a couple of my mother law's home made (with LARD!) buns. My mother in law has great buns. Lightly toasted. No ketchup bull$h!. CATTLEMAN's Smokehouse barbeque sauce, gobs of it. Normally Famous Dave's is the way to go with barbeque sauce, but not for burgers. Either Cattleman's or KC MAsterpiece Smokehouse. Red onion, cut to pieces. MEDIUM CHEDDAR. Thick, although sharp would have hit the spot too. Get those buns soft in the nuker than char and toast them a bit on the hot irons and set those slabs of beef on there. The bun has to be small enough so the meat is still the main draw of the attraction. Put on the onions, and smother in a rolling puddle of the sauce and take a bite............... MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM FOODGASM! I think that will keep me happy ALL DAY. Sometimes you gotta just have a burger. Tell everyone about your best burgers.
  23. i actually hit the saturn lot today (during the snowstorm). they had a new outlook there with open doors. It was an XE AWD. I opened the door to peek inside but it was so crappy out I figured I wouldn't mess it up. Anyways, it was the blue dash and cloth seats and metallic trim. The metallic was nice. the doors had a nice thunk sound. Overall, the black exterior moldings and trim and cheaper interior did not wow me as much as the leather lined one i saw previously but its still top drawer for crossovers.
