  1. actually, i saw something in another thread about dating barely legal japanese girls who dress like video game characters. oh yeah, oh yeah.
  2. i find that if you have the time, get into creative things like writing books or music, art, design, etc. Anything that uses your creativity and exercises the mind. Listening to and being a fan of music and movies can help. Networking with work buddies will help. It depends on where you work. i have worked where people are all duds but some workplaces have others who can help you develop some friendships that may evolve beyond casual. Chuch works as an event for some. Since I am married now it is more a matter of not enough time for anything. Follow your interests and don't apolgize for the things you are interested in. But honestly, getting out and circulating and doing things really is the best way to try to fight off boredom or the blues. Get involved in things outside your home and job. Charities even. Freindships and realtionships develop through meeting others who participate in the same life events you do. Just keep getting out and about and being energetic and positive.
  3. BEST LINE EVAH I'm a nerd because i spend tons of time on computer message baords.
  4. I am for the concept of free trade generally, if its reciprocal. Thing is, there's too much to suggest that its not. It seems we have a lot more of a fair relationship with China vs. Japan but the economics of goods made in China means our imblance with them is more due to numbers and the pure amount of crap we buy rather than Japan where its a manipulated situation. At least China is interested in partnering in some things. America's problem is the whole needing to not offend and be politically correct. BIZ is right, they use our freedom and expression of thought against us. Our own internal mandate to play fair gives outsiders far too many advantages against us. It's almost as if we'll implode for no other reason than having our laws set up to do 'the right thing'. Our journalists spend time in America wiriting about how morally awful we are because we get upset when a Muslim cashier at a Target store refuses to scan a package of bacon because of their 'religion' and make it seem like a huge travesty when in effect, they could simply not take the job. Nope, gotta have it both ways. Or Muslim cabbies at the airport who refuse to give rides to people with dogs or alcohol. We focus on what a hardship it is for the cabbie when instead we need to think about the person who needs a ride who is getting screwed. The cabbie shouldn't take the job if transporting people is against his religion. I don't see too many Catholics refusing to work at McDonalds on Filet o Fish Friday.
  5. hmm, i DID have some cherry cobbler for dinner.
  6. Here's how I would rank everything after last weeks auto show. Of course, this is without driving all of them. I've driven many of them. *=driven it 1. Aura 2. Milan 2. Altima 4. Fusion* 4. Galant* 4. Impala* 4. Passat 2.0* 8. Mazda6* 8. Grand Prix* 10. CAMLEE 10. Avenger 10. Accord 10. LaCrosse 14. Malibu* 15. G6 16. Sebring 17. Legacy 18. Sonata 19. Optima List can change daily.
  7. the Milan's interior looks great in black with the aluminum accents. now, the plastic graining will still likely suck, but i like the faux metal accents. i really am not a woodgrain fan, and i do like the perforation pattern. If you told me today the G8 would ever be available with AWD I would hold out for that but honestly I am not holding my breath. As much as I want a sporty ride, the changes that have been made to this car make it able to at least compete. Standard advance trac and safety canopy. And the Ford Sync, assuming it works, is huge. No more fumbling with trying to figure out devices.
  8. they moved the license plate to the bumper on the sable! just caught that. no fender vent in front though. arg. a black or dark gray sable with the black perf leather, the ford sync, AWD, advance trac, good mpg, greatly reduced cabin noise, 5 star safety, command seating, dvd, this could be good. I don't like the wheels. ARG. we all don't have to drive the pathetic camrys.

  10. ok, thanks, i got the titles confused. yes, it's a time to kill. MS burning was a good movie also, but Dafoe and Hackman to me are somewhat clinical in their acting.
  11. oh yes, blu. and if your a man's man, you'll like his performance. he wears a lot of tanks in that movie. and its always frickin humid there. kevin spacey is in that movie also. as is sam jackson.

  14. it appears to be an old article, very old, but common themes and accusations still get tossed about today. i'm still only part way into it. Certainly doesn't sound entirely like hogwash.
  15. no, really. i seriously could not choose, at least in that movie. over time, I'd have to pick Sandy. neither are spring chickens.

    CHOICES

just watched MISSISSIPPI BURNING easily one of the best movies ever. extremely good drama. tremendous acting. wonderful actors in their prime. but honestly. I found that one thing I was struggling with the WHOLE MOVIE. ..... A very young Sandra Bullock covered in sweat or a young Ashley Judd covered in sweat? tough choices. seen any movies like that where you JUST had to decide which is better?
  20. well, if you work 20 hours a week at walmart you will have more leisure time.
  21. NOPE, if you repeat it, it doesn't sound any less dumb.
  22. SHAWD SHAWD SHAWD SHAWD
  23. more proof that coupes and 2 doors are useless and unpopular.
  24. our politicians have no leadership. neither do our business leaders. our citizens have no ability to wherewithal to enact things for themselves we're basically f-cked. -bsuh needs to be gone -big oil needs to back off -we need leaders to state the need for us to invest in developing our future -we need everyone to follow through on it including biting the bullet and investing money -the focus should not be global warming because there is no fact in it. it's theory. but we should be developing alternative and renewable energy.
