  1. on star. also ask the camlee folks if they can get factory remote start in their camlee. Or if their cahmrhee has 100,000 mile powertrain coverage. Or if they profits on the cahmrhee subsidize foreign countries and trade deficit. the chevy dealers should make sure to get white camlees because then the nice green "E" sticker on the trunk lid will really stand out nicely. they should also give out a nice timex alarm clock as a test drive momento to remind them of how nice the camlee is inside. another good test would be a sheetmetal test. lean up against the rear quarter on both cars and see which one barely budges and which one flexes like a pop can. maybe for proper effect, they can prop up an aging boomer in the driver's seat of the CMLee. And ask him to be reading a copy of consumer reports while he is driving and sipping on some metamucil.
  2. that was what left me with the best impression on my Aura test drive. The engine/tranny is sweet. Motor sings, has power all over, and the tranny is seamless and fast to shift. Wait till she gets hooked on using the slick paddle shifting! If anyone goes to drive the Aura XR and then continues to bleat about being no worthwhile difference between one of GM's classic pushrod powertrains and the OHC/6 speed, I will smack them. Driving the Aura makes up for all those years of GM lagging in powertrains in mainstream vehicles.
  3. reasonable, decent looking, single P, without too many hangups.
  4. ok, who's to say Iacocca won't surface here? Good thing there's no kirk. secondly, UAW/Gettlefinger, STFU. No one cares. Where will you be in ten years? clearly this company paid to assume the debt and benefits liabilities, and the brand names. The company (overhead) comes with it for free. I am guessing we will see Chrysler scale down now. And they should. Honestly though, they could partner up again with Mitsubishi or Hyundai or whoever and probably set foot in Russia now too.
  5. this XY only likes the XX. nice try..lol but that guy, who knows, he might be an XY guy. He's had access to plenty of P. I'm begininning to wonder.........
  6. like YOU are some sort of insider or something.... oh, wait. LOL
  7. it's amazing how an ugly slow vehicle like the CRV can have such success when there are at least 3 other competitors that are superior. I bet the CRV is cannibalzing the accord also. the CRV is the ultimate woman friendly vehicle and that's why it's cashing in big time. it's so soft, it appeals to both sides of the fence for women. I just don't see many men getting CRv's.
  8. has been no porn on the big screen a-kid gets first dibs on what's on tv so i rarely get to watch anything on the big screen b-there's just something wrong about it presented in that large of size. it's like 'why didn't they have 50" HDTV when I was 16? c-the neighbors can generally see what you are watching so you try to not to broadcast that stuff all around
  9. philips has some all new 42" LCD's out now that promise to be excellent, with the ambilight and all.
  10. well, he is a tech only, and his continual lack of LTR relationship and pickiness with women are really making me start to wonder if...... as if the flashdance style apparel in one if his MS pics from his HS era doesn't make me wonder if.......
  11. ah, $h! blu....my head was fine this morning. i got up about 630 and drank some water and went back to bed and got up and even made 1030 church. about 2 bottles last night and a bottle and a half the night before. had a headache after the first night but not today. we recently made a big wine purchase and the rack was overflowing. when the rack is overflowing, you must partake. and thus i drank from the sweet bottles. wine poop is nasty, though.....LOL between all the wine and pomegranet juice i drank this wkd, i think my antioxidants are taken care of for a while. truth is, had i not fallen asleep last night, i would have drank another bottle. it was going down. funny what crosses your mind when you drink wine at home. anything from sheer relaxation to 'will my possibly bi-sexual ex coworker ever show me her rack if i get her drunk enough' to 'damn, i didn't realize there was this many channels on satellite'.......
  12. another example of our impending downfall as a nation. wait till this girl gets a pass made at her by her freshman dorm roomate, looking for a little roomate muff diving. how will she react then? will she FREAK OUT?
  13. just finished setting up a wrls network and rebooted and logged into internet. msn home page popped up and what do i see? A new tag line for saturn ads.... RETHINK AMERICAN and then it proceeds to go through a list of all GM's advantages (warranty, etc.). Is GM taking the gloves off finally in their advertising? I like it. Might fall on its face but at least they are trying. go to msn.com and see if you see the same thing.
  14. well, no, because I know in a Geely I would die if I accidentally bumped a sign post in the parking lot.
  15. the new accord coupe is alright. i could see why some might put it on a favorites list. it does not belong on the hate list. I liked the old IS but I think this new one has a lot more presence to it. It kinda makes the new 3 series and all new C class look a bit cheap, at times.
  16. i gotta admit. toyota did a great styling job on the IS. It has an aggressive stance and broad shouldered look and proportions that are extremely rare for a japanese brand car. rear view is really nice. grille could be better though.
  17. blu, what did that person say about the FJ? Like/no? And do they like the Edge better?
  18. after a few weeks and months of watching tv on the new set I must say that I am very happy with my philips plasma. Completely satsified so far, and no problems of any kind. I am blown away at the picture quality of the plasma and philips product. I was just reading a tv review for a new Samsung LCD that is apprently the best LCD on the market and is a near match in PQ for plasmas, so it seems the gap is closing and that soon LCD's will be watchable for movies and sports, too. there is nothing like high def. to top it off, my brother in law just got ISF trained to do video calibration and maybe I can sweet talk him into trying it on my TV. Soon I hope to get that Apple TV and say goodbye to DVD's (well not all of them).
  19. ok, was channel flipping they had Dirty Dancing on sat tonight. got stuck on it...again I don't care if this is THE quintissential chick flick....I LOVE THIS MOVIE. Ok, maybe it's the second bottle of wine tonight. Two nights in a row, drinking at home. I'm on board with this. All you guy guys say what you want about Patrick Swayze.... that Jennifer Grey, I'd bust that. Damn. Not just once. But maybe a couple 2-3 hundred times. Vastly underrated she was. It's a shame the face didn't match the bod. Then, when she tried to fix it, she went too far and 'bye bye career'. So anyways, the movie itself. Great soundtrack. One of those 'period' movies and 'coming of age' movies at the same time. The acting is marginal at best but somehow the raw emotion and feeling of the time comes across and the story is well told. Plenty of heat, and big ending. As Ebert would say 'thumbs up'. There is a guy I used to work with that hates this movie. He is like 32 now and still single. I told him he should rent this movie and watch it with a date or something and he'd be guaranteed to score. He said he hates the movie so much he wouldn't care. I told him, 'that explains why you are and will forever be single'. The first time I saw this movie I was working overnight stock crew at a target store (yes, like 18 years ago) and our shift manager lady chick brought in the movie to watch over break. I could not believe how 'psyched' this movie got the women. I just thought it was an ok movie but after they kept going on and on about it I got that women like to watch movies about situations and feeling s they envision themselves in. Then eventually i started dating my wife and she liked the movie too. There is a lot of cheesiness to the movie but that's what makes it timeless. That, and an excellent soundtrack. Every song as it is presented in the movie captures every moment of the story brilliantly. So what is the verdict on this movie and patrick swayze and jennifer grey? more wine./...... \ any other chick movies you guys get caught staying on when channel flipping?
  20. if the car was stylish, no one would care about the lineage.
  21. in the interest of an open mind and fairness, i looked at those nicely snapped images of this thing again today. and i realized it's even uglier today than i thought it was yesterday. wow. This thing is just flat out terrible. is honda purposely making this ugly to appeal to the hyundai lovers (i.e. ugly car lovers) out there? Are they making the accord ugly just so they can purposely sell more next gen higher priced TL's? i.e. make more $$$$ selling a prettier version of the same car. The doors and greenhouse are not that objectionable but the front and rear ends and big overhangs are not nice. And yes, the fact that it's weighted down does not help the visual, but there are just many bad things here. I almost see some Chevy Epica in this too. I might be crazy there, though. http://www.km77.com/marcas/chevrolet/2006/epica/gama/g01.asp
  22. really? this might get my interest big time. A new Jetta wagon is quite nice. And the 6 speed DSG would be icing on the cake.
  23. we sure hilary doesn't drive a forester or an outback LL Bean edition? Obama's got dubs on his...........i bet...22inch?
  24. love mccain's choice. it's a lux car, but not ostentatious. it's American. nice choice.
