  1. there are some good deals to be had right now on the current CTS BTW. what's left of them. but the 08 is so phenomenal........ a good dilemma would be wait for G8 vs. any current leftover 07 CTS.
  2. someone beat me to mentioning the subaru. the additional benefit of the boxer 4 is low COG. v4's would require extra bends in the intake path vs. an inline 4.
  3. this is an interesting thread because it is an example of the function/need vs. want/fun dilemma everyone faces buying a car. i would lean to the T/A, although check the T/A for rust before you decide. at least you know what's wrong with your focus. hard to be sure what the 'issues' might be with the t/a. it's like when they were running 199 leases on new GTO's....my gm card would have taken care of the downpayment and the wife said 'you can have one'.....but she knew putting the kid in the backseat of the two door would make me mad, and she knew RWD on winter ice would make me mad and she knew the 9 cu ft trunk would make me mad. so i ended up with the 500 instead. GRRRRRRRR
  4. you guys are making me hot talking about taurus', galants, and mazda 6's........i need to be alone........
  5. yeah, those W bodies are so hot.
  6. i thought the toyota echo was?
  7. you can look at a picture of the 08 accord grille / front end and like it? my God, do we need to call the priest to exercise the CR demons?
  8. i think saab may be on the uptick in a couple years. new 9-5, 9-3 and xwd.
  9. mullaly was in a related industry. he understood the engineering component, the manufacturing component, the labor component. the 'global' component. In many ways, Mullaly is perfect for the job at ford now. Nardelli might know real esate acquisition, distribution and retail operations, marketing. i doubt he knows jack $h! about what effect re-engineering a crash structure has on a product timetable, etc. Home depot is retail...not manufacturing and design.
  10. honda's oval piston v engine would be an interesting application of that.
  11. in line 6's are too long, hence the v6. i doubt you'd reduce the size of inline4 much by going to a v4. in fact, it probably becomes heavier and more complex.
  12. i am already ready to burn the new vista laptop i got 3 months ago.
  13. look at an 08 accord, an 07 camry, or a sonata, and you'll understand why we would get excited about an asian sedan that doesn't look like puke on a stick
  14. you rock. i'm jealous. what you doing with the old car? ?????
  15. i've heard northstars burn oil. not just a little. i have not heard of anyone having their northstar die on them however.
  16. now that is refreshingly different and very nice. take that, CAMRY and ACCORD. its a very nice aero form that does not appear blobbish. The new Accord is postively dreadful in comparison. automakers have gotten very ballsy on putting the hood seam right on a major sculpted character line. look at how tight it is on this mazda. wow. BTW, km77.com has a high res version of that photo. i don't even need to read a review. this is already superior to every other midsize, assuming the duratec 35 or 37 is included in the deal. A new mazda6 with a duratec 35 or 37 and a 6 speed manual and I'd have my soulmate back.........
  17. joshiepoo? are you ok?
  18. the new iMac's are being announced right now and should be up on the apple store sometime in the next couple hours. bye bye windows. you SUCK.
  19. let's put it this way. rogue vs. crv.....at least one of the two will be able to get out of its own way. and it won't be the one with vtec. isn't the rav 4 faSTER? i think the 4 in rav4 stands for "FOUR SECONDS FASTER THAN THE CRawling along at walking speeds -V ehicle." at least the front end of the nissan won't scare small children. when vue sales take off and the rogue comes out, we won't be seeing the crawling recreational vehicle at the top of the charts. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/3274/p...c-aztek-gt.html the only noise figures i found for any cr-v was on insightcentral.net and it was higher. curious is how an aztek which you can actually use to haul cargo and people, not just schnauzers, birth control pills, and shoplifted 'coach' bags, is only about 400 more pounds than the tiny cr-v. i would guess the sister rendezvoux is even quieter yet.
  20. the crv is a tall hatchback. think, backpack with wheels.
  21. but the crv cannot haul plywood or a couch. and you can't yank the seats out. i.e. the crv only has about half the functional cargo space and a lot less passenger space. the aztek is smoother and quieter at highway speeds (75-80+). IOW, the crv is just a cute in town grocery getter that really doesn't have value as part of its equation. if you wanna pick up a broom from home depot or some picture frame at the antique mall, or shuttle your little yippee dog around, then the crv is your bag. like i said, once word about the nissan rogue gets out, the crv is dead. unless there is a continuous new stream of lesbian population.
  22. it's pretty apparent that sometimes the wall street mentality is poisonous for American business. The business world has gotten in America to the point where the suits bite the hand that feeds and run it into the ground.
  23. i think the swivel and go is kind of dumb. what they should have done is figured how to do a one touch power stow and go second row and third row. wait, i think they have a power third row.
  24. 17 kids homeschooled? sounds like a nice cash flow. bet it pays for the groceries nicely. hope those kids know how to add and subtract. they all must just grunt.
