  1. looks like the 'chosen elite's' pocketbooks are starting to get hit too. Odyssey is really socking it to the sienna. RAV4, CRV, the cute ute segment is exploding. toyota sucks. i hope this is a double digit decline next month. look how many of their models are down. Fine by me.
  2. NNNNNNNNNNNNNNT the accord is assembled well and has some ok plastic but it does not feel that expensive. It feels creepy 90's cheap in the lower trim levels and the use of cheap matte black also is not very expensive feeling. And the center stack and display hood in the center aren't lavishly done either. IOW, I wouldn't call the accord any sort of benchmark unless you have low standards.
  3. CRv success boggles the mind! but it appeals to women, and women generally are wired in ways I can't get sometimes. aside from the crv/accord, and dumping leases on the odyssey, i don't see too much to get honda all happy.
  4. they simply need to get new products to market as fast as they can. if they can weather the next 2 years.......you hope.
  5. well, now that i've seen the G8 pricing, i think the magnacharger has moved back down the list........
  6. and no 80 dollar oil changes.
  7. wow. maybe i CAN get that G8 GT. summabish. i might just get a rear wheel drive car. is the G8 hitting market before or after the COTY deadline?
  8. as hideous as the exterior always has been, an AWD v6 charger with this new interior would not be a bad thing for me. it's maybe improved just enough so it won't incite me to poke my eyes out. does the magnum get this as well?
  9. i really liked the interior of the 00-04 focus better than the 05-07 and now the 08.
  10. buick used to make 8 tracks they would include with your car. we had a 'buick free spirit' eight track that i loved to listen to. when the player worked. LOL. occasionally i can still find that 8 track on ebay. it was mostly instrumental. weird as it sounds, its kind of a fun memory of growing up.
  11. college would have been SO much more fulfilling if i had this back then
  12. those folks need a 9-3. the base 9-3's get good real world mpg....
  13. thanks. and like my 500 it will do well real world, too. like the 29.6 mpg i got a couple weekends ago on a trip. many ford and gm big cars have gotten good real world mpg in the past.
  14. that, my friend, is called SURFACE EXCITEMENT. lol Ted, you been pulling trim off of cars again?
  15. cupholders in the door exist for one reason.....the empties. a full day shopping with the fam and you soon realize that two cupholders in each door for the empties would be super handy. if i could have 14 cupholders in a sedan i would.
  16. understand that my comment was more a swipe at the GMI geeks than it was at chevy or anything. i actually kind of agree with you.
  17. the interior design is alright. looks like the materials on this base version might be cheap looking. but look at a base camry and even a new 2008 base accord and you get some nasty looking cloth and dark gray plastic too. the enterprise guy picked me up in a mazda 6 in light gray interior a few months ago that i seriously wanted to puke and poke my eyes out it was so terrible. This is bound to be an improvement. Look at how many people bought the last gen altima when it had the horrific interior to start. we'll see how this takes. even with the interior cost cutting I think the overall design can win some fans. It will be perceived as a big improvement overall and that's what counts. Its a fresh enough look and the v6 is credible and the price is good. Back it with a 5/100 powertrain and i think this car will launch ok. The Aura's interior is not the best but I think in most trims and stuff it comes off as decent. I am surprised GM just doesn't get the whole plastic quality thing yet though. The cost cutters still rule over there I guess. A simple change in plastic spec/quality and texture/graining/gloss level and jazzing up the radio and climate controls would do a lot to bring up the overall AURA of this interior. I'm surprised no one has whined about NAV and bluetooth yet like they do incessantly on GMI.
  18. i just grew a tree with a tent over it.
  19. plug in? dual mode? turbodieselhybriddualmodeastra. me like.
  20. seriously....will we have pushrods and no third row seat and no cruise control? drum brakes? detuned 3.6? this also opens the door for the other 3 lambdas to get higher output v6's and 8 cylinders now that chevy can take the low end. i wonder if they can cut out some curb weight too.
  21. they needed to sell it as GMC and Buick and Saturn first to bring higher sell prices and more profit margin. wait, when do these hit the showrooms then? This MIGHT be an option for me now if its out before my 500 lease is up and I am am bankrolling GM card money. This could make a lambda doable for me.
  22. college professors across the country celebrate!
  23. i had an 8 track in my electra coupe and had a few 8 tracks the 'click' used to occur during Boston's 'More than a feeling'.
  24. i'm not sure why anyone would want to make meaningless compromises in safety. of course, there are plenty of dumbasses who ride motorcycles without helmets....you know, folks who want their brains destroyed by pavement.
