sorry to hear of this, panther. You've had so many good things happen lately with Julie and all. Take good care of her and yourself in the weeks ahead. God bless.

Be thankful this car is not a visual disaster like the charger is.

'it's not a true hardtop' i don't care for the proportioning. it has big overhangs, is top heavy, and has no flow. camaro is better.

that sedan segment is too crowded and buyers are abandoning sedans to begin with. after that, subtract out the lemmings (camry and accord buyers) and you have not a lot of sales for a WHOLE bunch of cars. if the economy was anything close to good and if more than 10% of the people in this country were doing well, i think you'd have room for everyone.

2008 VUE Green Line gets 25mpg city/32mpg hwy
regfootball replied to haypops's topic in Heritage Marques
i sat in a tribute and vue today. the vue's upright seating and ability to tuck your feet under the front seats make it a bit more commodious then you would think. it's close to a draw, the tribute/escape maybe has a little bit more room. the escape trio has the bigger trunk. the vue has the better interior but is also real world priced higher. the cx-7 starts to look real good in this crew. also, lesser equipped ford edges become attractive. getting back to the hybrid bit. one gal in the showroom today (because women are gonna be most of the vue buyers now) was inquiring about the hybrid. so maybe GM has them fooled with BAS. i hope its reliable or they will be crucified. but at least they found a way to get the mpg numbers up which is a good thing. when does the real vue hybrid come out? -

yeah but the v6 vue doesn't really get any better mpg than either the edge or the taurus x. for that matter. rather funny considering the taurus x has a third row. what mpg did the new minivans get? i would be so LOL if they get the same mpg as the vue v6. the vue is a grat vehicle, but them killing the cargo area and the mpg really killed 2 of the big reasons people bought the last gen vues. -

i sat in and inspected a couple vues today. the interior is impeccable. i was disturbed by how small the cargo area is now. wow. the floor of too many of these crossovers is way too high and cargo space suffers big time. the taurus x is one of the few that has it figured out. -
i have a feeling no one will care.

Malibu will 'take over' the digital world on Oct. 17th
regfootball replied to Flybrian's topic in Chevrolet
i hope folks notice. this car has a bit of the phaeton look, only nicer, for a lot less! i can see why the next aura is coming to market so fast now. i think the bu might pull a lot of sales from the aura. -

both are chickmobiles of the highest order. the crv sells so well because it basically rings all women's car buying bells. and it get's buyers to swap their 4 cylinder accords for an SUV and still stay honda. Personally i liked the previous Vue's more trucklike and butch stance. the new Vue has wussified it's look to appeal to women and import intenders more, it's hard to say yet if that is successful. One thing is certain, the Vue does have the interior goods. Styling wise, with all of that, at least the Vue is not wearing the CR-v's dreadful styling mishaps. I find it odd that a vehicle so unattractive is so popular. Over the noon hour, I saw a truck loaded with 08 Escapes and Mariners. the black mariner caught my eye and is absolutely stunning good. where the ford's fall apart is in interior quality. The layout is nice, but the plastics and fabrics are subpar and the controls are cheap. Had Ford done a bangup job on the interior, then we could put the CRV in the trash like it needs to be. My understanding is the Escape gets a 6 speed / 240hp combo in 2009. And the RAV4 kills the CRv anyways. The Rav can be had a motor that will get nearly 4 seconds better than the 10 second times the CRv gets in tests. CRv suffers from the same thing the sportage does. tiny trunk. -

this is all doomed to failure, because the malibu is a worthless car. To spend so much on advertising a car that lacks nav is a guaranteed failure. -

even with a slow BAS, the CRv is not really any faster i bet. and honda's 4 cylinder utes don't give the huge mpg people think they do. My bet is the Vue GL is almost as fast as the crawling recreational vehicle, gets better mpg, and costs less comparably equipped. Not to forget the 5/100 ptrn wty. i think at least compared to the big selling crawling recreational vehicle, its a great alternative. -

bet the 0-60 on this thing sucks -
well Jesus Christ, you could say the same thing about your wife or something. I guess we've reached a point in society where we have to nitpick the $h! out of something, and it our possessions don't comply with our wants 100%, its all automatically $h!. (or at least that's the way they write the auto reviews). no forgiveness. no middle ground. cars 2-19 in the misdsize comparo are all f@#kED because the Accord won in a landslide, martha!!!!!!!!!! shut down the factories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! your job your spouse your friends your family your restaurants your pro sports teams your church your self your genitals your president (ok, that's legitimate beef) your house your cars your pets your college your local starbucks NONE OF IT IS PERFECT test drive it, see if you like it. the price tag will say if you can afford it. Let yourself feel if you get along with the car. It is helpful to read articles to make sure you don't buy obvious lemons like sludgy camrys or cam blasting bed bouncing turds or destructo tranny 5 speed hondas. everycar is going to have idiosyncracies. i think too much of it gets blown out of proportion, because usually you end up liking most things about your car. It takes 2-3 years before you get sick of it, but that's natural. when you buy a new car, new stuff will piss you off in some way. This is not a car made that won't piss you off. imagine if everyone dumped their wife 1 year into marraige because she doesn't put out. imagine if you divorced because you found out she can't make hotdish. or if you didn't like how she cut her toenails. her breasts not big enough? cut the cord!!!! put her out in the street! send the beosh packing!!!!! that aura don't have NAV? OMG end of the world!!!!!!!!!! the new accord doesn't have sync or remote start or a 100k warranty! shut down honda!

SYDNEY: 2008 Holden Commodore Sportwagon
regfootball replied to Flybrian's topic in Heritage Marques
the interior is perfect. the g8 should get a tan option. g8 wagon, oh my dreams! i could be happy again if this car were available when the sedan comes out! can i get one with a stick? all wheel drive would be nice. monochrome color scheme, no chrome, no rub strips.....red, or black, or even white. here's my bitch. why the hell can't anyone find a way to put dvd on the roof and still allow for a moonroof? i could melt in those yummy seats....OH! OMG i am in love with this car. this and the cts. OMG -
not only are a lot of folks stupid about cars, but their process of shopping for them has become even stupider. IT'S JUST A CAR you'll spend about the same on a camry vs. an impala vs. xcar, etc. there is not anything quantified in all these countless car reviews that substantively should affect your decision making vs. say, the manufacturer spec sheet, the road test data, and dirving a car yourself. all the little block and red dots don't tell the whole story either. some people (cough women cough) treat buying a car like it was selecting a doctor to get their baby delivered or their hymen reconstructed. the women, the overanalytical males, and the enthusiasts who try to know everything about the car without driving it are the ones who all this review drivel is written for. ITS JUST A CAR

there was a gal i worked with one time who had fuzzy/hairy arms and fuzzy (huge) chest, a bit of a moustache, not black hair, but for some reason, it really was cool.........

why can't people just go test drive the car and look at it and see if they like it?
