  2. i was about ready to rant.........GOOD!
  3. If Chrysler was willing to cut me a deal on a 3.5L AWD 2008 magnum that I could afford, I would be very open to that.......
  4. my LX magnum was a fun drive. i would be a lot more interested in the charger if its styling wasn't disagreeable and its interior, bad. hate the cruise and turn signals on the LX's. the LX's best attributes are taking the traditional amurchan car experience (long wide RWD chassis) and adding good road manners and suspension and drive feel to it for somewhat agreeable prices.
  5. subaru is not keeping up in styling and neither is kia. they can't be a player until they can make a vehicle that has style. mazda and nissan are the only asian makers that consistently put out vehicles that register stylistically
  6. 08 brand new focus loaner (auto) computer says 25 mpg. i'll be getting my car back tomorrow so i'll have to fill up the focus before i give it back, but to me 25mpg is less than what compacts should get in order for them to be attractive to drive. many car reviews and user reviews i see on four cylinder cars and compacts these days though, they don't get the 30mpg i would expect or want to get.
  7. i saw the thread title and thought it was about the home movies i meade with the camcorder last night. oops... (great jokes btw) signed -ex catholic
  8. GM=drama queens. ENOUGH Already!!! just put out new cars!!!!!!!!!!
  9. rarely but would go more often if i had a macbook air
  10. china owns us though. we can't say anything bad about them or a few moves and our dollar is worthless. face it, china will have us by the balls if they don't already. yes, we are supposed to burn resources investing while they reap the profits. they want our consumers to fuel their economic growth which will simultaneously kill ours. if we don't, they will simply arm up and kill us. in the words of a famous person..... tick tock tick tock i wonder if hilary has been cozying up with them already since Bill liked China a bunch.
  11. awesome. i think it affects the kids a lot also. normally the wife is gone when the kid wakes up but today she had drop off duty and so she got a chance to wake the kid up. then we both played with the kid for awhile and all day she has been more chipper and stuff. kid played by herself happily tonight and hasn't done anything mischievous just to get our attention. yup, time with the kids does make a difference for kids and the 'rents i guess yes, PCS it does make it seem as though toyota's awesome dashboard plastics aren't such a big deal! kids have the most fun taking baths.
  12. that asus has been getting awesome reviews. C/G at starbucks on the eee pc would be pretty cool.
  13. no one wants to ride 3 wide in the front and the car would need to be seriously wide for 3 comfortably in the rear. i can get 3 wide in back in the 500 and they are still a bit too close for comfort. plus, you don't get car pools of 6 anyways. too hard to coordinate. i think if they mainly just put in a console in front and made it a 5 passenger it would be fine. having the center of the front be able to be used for kids and be slid front to back is interesting though. you would need about 58-60+ inches of hip room to make this work. for this to fly in the US i would expect it would need to deliver 27-28 mpg city to make it a difference maker because of the comfort sacrifice over a van or crossover.
  14. true. I could put a holden badge on it though
  15. right. its not as functional and wouldn't get as good of gas mileage. sorry.
  16. xp was ok but vista sucks major horse you know what.
  17. battery=like Ipod, replaceable somehow. people will be all over these as these are simply awesome portable web browsers. funny this thread came up, as I was pulling up apple.com to look at these while while I was checking this thread. after dealing with Windows vista and a huge laptop for the last six months and now hating f@#king vista and wanting a small portable laptop for coffee houses and weekend trips........ portable USB hard drives are common and cheap. I almost never use the cd/dvd drive. Movies are on netflix and itunes now and i didnt use dvd's for movies before. i can rip music cd's to the companion iMac if I ever get one. this macbook really is the right form factor for full portable computer functionality. i truly could love a new imac, ipod, macbook air, and iphone and everything would be seamless to go with my apple tv already. face it. windowphiles have serious mac envy. macs are less hassle and don't look like lunchboxes. and they actually work most of the time. This vista experience has left me to say f@#k you windows. next time i want a real computer and it will probably be a mac. or an Asus eePc linux 400 dollar laptop. simply put, apples are like the cars we espouse, we want our cars to be designed better and provide enhanced function and don't want them designed to meet a price. Its the same with computers. You can buy a windows dell HP piece of $h! (gateway in my case) for the low price and then in the end you got less than you wanted or needed. I don't feel terrible about buying less than a i wanted in this case, but always wish i would have got the apple instead. It's like buying a chrylser that has been given away when you really wanted to get say, just about anything else.
  18. this is kind of like when you see a newborn for the first time and its not all that attractive. i kind of don't know what to say. needs a lot of help in many ways even if i kind of can see what they are trying to do. bottom line is, is this concept only? I don't think Lincoln needs to waste time with this when they do not have a REAL town car, or when they need to get out a new entry lux car to freshen the mkz. everyone from carmakers to NFL teams looking for a coach are looking for 'game changers'. In this case, we have a reach, until they fix the styling, inside and out.
  19. i can slap a Honda badge on my aztek and its the same thing
  20. NAIL in the coffin. but i thought GM would look past it, i really did. Next up, cancelling the manual transmission on the sedan! sad thing is, G8 wagon would have been awesome for me. they already nixed AWD zeta also however. yet, we still have rumored Aura wagon in a couple years and we still have sportcombi's despite wagons=bad. perplexing. I wonder if Maximum Bob is sore from the scrotum job the numbers guys are doing on him. I guess the twinforce powershift Flex is as close to a wagon as I may get. What will become of the rumored CTS wagon? ...but we still can justify a G8 Ute?
  21. http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2008-0...carmakers_N.htm tick tock? our politicans need to set up roadblocks in legislation so this does not happen
  22. simply put....buff books don't like the plastic panels, creates HUGE panel gaps. journalists don't like it and neither do customers. in real world the benefit outweighs the marketing impediment of that, but the marketing impediment creates a tough sell. a managers job to success is to remove obstacles for the employees beneath him or her so the employees can just do the work. a marketers job is to remove the impediments to buying something so people can just buy it. plastic panels represented an impediment, so they removed it. Even though saturn's identity was from a space frame with skin, it clearly got to the point where people got fussier about the panel gaps than they appreciated the method of build. I am surprised they chaven't changed the corvette yet to steel body. Plus, Opel=Saturn and if saturn had to keep doing skin+spaceframe, it would have required opel to switch to that as well. NO can do. current delta chassis is too small. it needs to be sentra-sized. for stop gap this year and next, its ok. sky outsells solstice so i think sky in the lineup is justified. hey did anyone notice in the other thread where now basically caddies were going to be the only 'car' platforms developed int he US? I know GM is global now, but GM will probably have very few engineers left in the US for cars if that's the case. At least if its caddies its the premeire product in the GM stable. Saturn outlooks biggest flaw, it got an inferior interior to the Acadia. the outlooks interior is very nice but the acadias is just that much more dynamic. that plus the acadias grille is a bit nicer and the GMC name is 'tough'. Saturn could EASILY fix the outlooks market appeal with a few thing...... EXCLUSIVE COLOR PALETTE and GET RID OF CHROME REVISED PRICING AND MORE SENSIBLE / VALUE ADDED OPTION PACKAGING SPORT SUSPENSION and slightly lower ride. target CX-9 for handling etc. Revise the interior with interesting colors and cloths and swtichgear. maybe even upgrade plastics. NO WOOD! Exclusive engine options or at least upgraded (i.e. direct injection and paddle shifters) unique stereo options grille and headlight changes (more aggressive, get BOLD with it) TAKE GM CARD Basically if we can make an opelized outlook with red line performance and euro out the interior as much as they can...... then it is different than the acadia and chevy and then it is also a competitor they can target vs. the CX-9 which is the darling of the moment. also, give the outlook a dual mode hybrid yesterday and they will FLY out the showroom.
  23. yeah, and they won't give us hardtops either..... j/k. i sure hope chevy doesn't export the camaro to AU with the crap interior it has planned.....the aussies won't put up with that cheeseball interior. no GTO=big mistake IMHO. THIS DOES, however, open the door to FIREBIRD. FIRE CHICKENS UNITE!
  24. current Pilot's interior plastics quality is merely average. the seats in the pilot are good, in construction, support and leather quality. the design of the interior is merely average. the knobs, controls, switches are merely average. The Lambdas, their plastics quality is a bit shy on the outlook. I haven't seen the Enclave. The Acadia's plastics are good but still perhaps a bit shy of the Pilot. Where you lose me is using the Ridgeline as any sort of benchmark. the ridgeline's interior is deficient on many levels. The design is bad. The plastics quality is not good. The seats have some firmness to them but I did not see any exceptional material quality. Assembly quality on the interior of the Ridgeline is less than the Pilot. The overally execution of the Ridgeline interior is much closer to the merely average results of the Element, not the 'little but above average' Pilot. With the Pilot its wholly dependent on color also. That medium tan can be atrocious when it reflects light. Its definitely not 'low gloss'. Most of people's perceptions of why Japanese interiors are 'good' is because the seats are well done. As are the action of switches and panel gaps. But it often can detract your scrutiny away from bad design or lackluster plastics.
