i like that we are getting this, but it is illogical we don't get the wagon also then. it can be argued that the wagon would have more sales potential. but i guess the ST is a truck, and can help GM's cafe in that area. car and driver got 19 mpg. what a midsize car gets. but they jump in the piling on bit to say WTF? they increased their tahoe test mileage from 12 to 19 and it's NOT something to write home about? 50% better mileage? WTF? on the mercedes GL which has gotten them like 21 mpg well no f-king $h!, dumbasses, we JUST got clean diesel, and diesel is NOT CHEAP, either for the engine or the fuel. Plus, the left coasters keep raising the emissisons so no fricking diesel will pass without adding a bunch of expensive crap on the car. (your blessed mercedes JUST GOT THE BLUETEC!!!) AND we've had E85 and have had diesel in our pickups and just NOW you discover diesel? What a bunch of dumbasses. And like GM doesn't have a new diesel in the works? They say it saves 300 gallons a year. 5 year payback (did they factor in the extra equipment in the hybrid)? On one test loop that averaged 43 mph, they got 23 mpg with the tahoe hybrid compared to 18 for a similar yukon. People, 23 mpg for a vehicle like this is VERY GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and its ok for a WRX to get 17? but 19 is not good for a tahoe?

another reason why CAFE is discrminatory and why adopting CA's bullying agenda on their emissions BS makes no sense. If i cannot buy a hybrid in a cold climate area and get the same mileage somebody gets in the southern states.......I should not be forced to have my only choices be smaller vehicles that are around only to satisfy CAFE if my vehicle is in a climate where i have no chance of getting advertised mpg. Likewise, I should not be forced to drive something designed to meet unreasonable CA regs if because of weather i have no chance of meeting them anyways. If that forces me from my Malibu into an Aveo because of it, than that is bull$h!.

They would not test a prius the same way. again, biased edmunds. but read it and get your own take. they can't stand how well executed it drives so they rigged the story to find as many ways to talk negatively about it as they could.

my dad briefly sold cars for a dealer that also financed high risk bad credit buyers. those folks would buy anything that they could manage to get approved on. and the guy sold it at outrageous prices and 20+ % interest. And he could, because these folks had already effed up their credit. One thing he did, he always made an extra set of keys for everything he sold. They miss payments, the car was very easy to 'repossess' that way.

and its 5-60 time will be closer to 7 seconds. they had to wind it up to get that time. of course, the forester turbo will prob match that time for a lot less money. C/D got 3 mpg less with its RDX than the X3. turbo economy?

In America, right now, technical jobs hardly get proper pay and are taken for granted. The only jobs that seem to pay anything these days are Upper level bsuiness execs, marketing, lots of fluff jobs. These people always take for granted that someone with the techincal skill will make it happen at their behest, and for dirt wages. Back in the early days of NASA, the engineers were probably in greater control and got paid well. Today, engineers are micromanaged by 7 layers of buffoons, who think they know squat about squat. All who get paid more than the person who knows how to put together the end product.
