  1. bush / cheney in office? oil guys ya know
  2. another couple reasons the gto failed. no sunroof. aero smooth styling. non existent trunk. gas tank in a really undesirable spot.
  3. let me get this thread back on track. i saw the new 09 RL at the auto show today. the bangle butt revision helps. the front guillotine grille is horrible. overall, the car will at least get noticed now, but that front is a joke.
  4. i was at the auto show today and had the pleasure of checking out the 09 vibe, the HHR and HHR SS and the Dodge Journey. the Vibe is a reskin, but its ok. The interior is kind of cheap, but ok for an econocar. I can't say i liked it compared to the HHR SS interior. The HHR is nicer. depending on if your shopping 4 cylinder, the journey is worth a look compared to those two. the interior is cheap on the journey and the dash is terrible, but it has enough other merits to make it the most appealing people hauler of the 3. the vibe will get great mpg. hhr will get good mpg. i can't say i was terribly impressed with the vibe redo. the exterior is nice however, and it is a nice mazda 3 alternative. the matrix is a disaster.
  5. 39 1/2. have a 4 1/2 year old. we've always said we wanted 2. well. it's crunch time. wife says the kid needs a companion, and i agree. at the same time, i'm like pcs. i think about being almost 60 and having a teen. we actually were prego briefly at the end of last year. were. my Gfather married when he was 45 and fathered 5 children after that, last born when he was 60. kudos to him, he lived til 95. i won't be able to live that long. i am terribly on the fence due to age, but feel remore for not getting it done sooner. kids ain't cheap either.
  6. i think you hit on a lot of things here. there are a lot of women who were raised to be almost 'anti-sexual' for one. LOL on the two minute happy ending. true also, many adults are too afraid to explore, or do not want to go out of their comfort zone. quite often its also the religious undertones scares many off from exploring. they think anything besides sex 101 is a sin. mustang- i didn't think those kind of shenanigans went on at a wholesome place like IA st.!
  7. i read a test of the non-DI CTS recently. the numbers for the non-DI CTS were VERY close to the DI version.
  8. they had the fking car on the turntable! you couldn't get inside!. the exterior is stunning. the interior looks average from a few feet away. i'm pissed we couldn't get in one.
  9. considering as how this car oblitterated the fastest times of any sport compact on the nurburgring, it would be fair to say its a good drive.
  10. is it love? i sat in the HHR SS today. those seats are nice and they are the same seats in the cobalt SS. I'm a bit wide for them, but they hold you nicely. I think you'd like them.
  11. motor trend and autoweek both have good reviews of the revised, turbo cobalt SS. RECORD TIME FOR A SPORT COMPACT ON THE NURBURGRING by THIRTEEN SECONDS 160mph top speed. ONE HUNDRED SIXTY blu......blu.........it's calling your name......... lays complete waste to the civic. silly civic. take your bat and ball and go home. bye bye gti
  12. OMG i never saw that artist before! very 80's though. i would have guessed alannah myles or chrissy steele. Carbiz whats the answer.
  13. the ES is a camry clone from this standpoint. its a barcalounger on wheels. just has a nicer interior. people criticize GM for not having enough flavors of cars, but honestly, any toyota product is snooze inducing and their brands and product lines are not diverse at all. Or maybe distinct enough is a better word. But if you examine the market and look at all the different PERFORMANCE vehicle classes, toyota is not represented well. toyota is about non involved commuter cars. almost none of their cars steps outside that box. and yet with them, that's ok where we rip GM if it shares a platform. amazing.
  14. F_CK! that is insane! i don't know what to say?
  15. tomorrow I GET TO FONDLE A G8!!!!
  16. this dude is hitting the auto show tomorrow and i will be spending QUALITY time in a g8. i can taste it.
  17. wait, this isn't the b00bies thread! oh, music is what we are talking about in this thread.
  18. yup thats part of what the article said
  19. 'brand agnostic' LOL I think moltar just coined a new phrase! wait till the press and marketing types get a hold of it!
  20. i had to look at the eyes over lunch. kills me. argh.
  21. my gosh, we're soulmates. anyways, look at the malibu and lambdas. nicer interiors, but still lots of cheap plastic. it doesn't ruin the product, but they would be SO MUCH better with better plastic. gaps too. Look in the Vue and then sit in the Aura. The interior seams are non existent in the Vue. They are still north american large in the aura.
  22. read Csaba Csere's or was it Bedard's diesel slander editorial from this month in C/D. there is speculation in there on why diesel is so expensive here and why it can't succeed here like in Europe. I couldn't find a link on C/D yet for it.
  23. if there is anything that OC's post rings home, its that interiors is still king when it comes to things that lead the customer's impression about the car. I will be hitting the auto show this weekend and I can guarantee you, since no one gets to drive the cars they are sitting in, the first and most long lasting thing that leaves an impression on them about particular cars is the interior. how the heck did Audi ever make its comeback? Interiors. VW? Interiors. Sadly, even with its big improvements, GM still lags in most of its models in interiors. I still think GM has not consistently knocked folks dead with its interiors. CTS is a start. Malibu kind of helps, but cost cutting is even evident in the Malibu. Astra and Vue hint that GM can possibly make and sell decent interiors here. the beancounters are still too afraid to let go of the reigns and let them put KNOCKOUT interiors in the vehicles. Lucerne's interior is not up to Lexus level, that's for sure. For a buick compared to past models it is improved but Buick needs to be equal to or better than Lexus, in that regard it has a long way to go.
  24. it is amazing. while some people nary a register in our consciousness, others send you full throttle.
