  1. gives those who think the 4 cyl accords look too cheap, something to buy.
  2. oh my. but this is America. we love our toyotas. yech
  3. prediction, manual trans option gone from CTS in a couple years. (CTSv to still have). The G8 will carry the stick torch.
  4. i always thought GMInside News stood for Gay Male Inside News. was i wrong?
  5. exactly. how many times do we need to remind that women and wussies that read CR drive the car market. I sat in a g8 today (comments on a thread in the pontiac section). The malibu comes off as crap in comparison. The presentation of the G8 is so much more of substance and restraint and good taste. Not knocking the malibu, just saying the G8 is probably as well done as anything GM has right now. I saw some CTS and STS on the way back from lunch and thought, who would buy that at more $$$$?
  6. yeah, camino is right. can we get something with styling? yet, the car itself is high functioning. I'll assume it drives good. It would be nice to see an optional high perf engine. the point to make here is GM sorely needs a car like this. Chevette, anyone?
  7. I went over to the dealer and sat in a G8 over noon. impressions, tasteful, not lavish, think the level of a mazda3 interior, a little nicer, or a mercury milan interior, and of course more spacious...although not 'cavernous' feeling. Gauges and SW are very nice. center stack is a bit dull, but that can be jazzed up in the future. seats were nice, not overly bolstered. The seats did sit a bit lower than i would like but i did not play with any adjustments. back seat is maybe accord sized, its not gigantic and limo like, like the 300. View out the dash is very panoramic. Definitely doesn't give a clue to which wheels are driving the car or how long the hood is. trunk space is deep and fairly wide, but not really all that tall (dang rear drivers). From that standpoint I think its borderline failure in terms of usefulness, even if the 'capacity' is high. The Lincoln LS had the same problem. Note to GM, that issue is fixed by bringing over the wagon. The car looks awesome, has the perfect stance and the short front overhang is way sexy. this is a slick looking car! it has one of those fancy flip out euro key fobs. Don't ever let the wife stab your leg with it in a fight. to be truthful I like it a lot, the interior is nice although I had expected it to be a tish nicer. The touch points are all good though, the seat, shifter, pedals, SW. I would prefer the cupholders not be back so far on the armrest, but you gotta make room to row your own, you know. Parked next to other NA GM models, the G8 really stands out as classier. It's styling is not as campy as so many GM cars are. Next to Maxima, it would make the Max look like puke. I must say, they had some killer looking G6 coupes and convertibles on the lot. Those are sexy cars too. Pontiac needs to update the G6 interior right pronto to keep the car relevant. Will I get a G8? Hard to say, I gotta drive one, and determine if I am ok with smaller trunk, low seating, lack of fold down front seat / rear seat etc. I wish the stick were out now although apparently its not far away. A DI v6 with stick would be nice. I wonder if I would like black, red, white or ignition orange. I could enjoy any of those colors I think. It really comes down to if you want RWD. It's defintely your car if that's your game. The Charger which already looks bad looks even worse after you see the G8. I love the styling and powertrains, but the price may be out of reach for me and I may miss some of the function I have in my car now. But the g8 for the price is really in the upper echelon in terms of classiness of the presentation.
  8. can someone please reassure me that epsilon 2 will be proper sized...i.e. adequate width for some actual cabin room?
  9. a 2 door coupe like this should have a manual v6 option. face it, the main reason manuals have nearly gone extinct is due to traffic / congestion issues. I would LOVE a 3 pedal car.....but it would be nice to have a button to flick to turn it into auto mode where you would not need to keep pumping the clutch. DSG is very close to that, but where's the 3rd pedal? Obviously even with DSG, VW still sees the need for true 3 pedal.
  10. the mks and max are just examples of why the g8 is so nice and clean. now is when i take a potshot at the avalon. since the max is competing with it. the maxima used to be a hot car.
  11. by the time the greenies, commies, and import humpers (redundant, i know) get done with our legislation, this will probably be what you get stuck with driving to work in 3-4 years
  12. do you like the chrysler 300?
  13. push comes to shove the majority of folks in this country will prove they think GW is a crock, just like Lutz. they have not been provoked far enough yet.
  14. NICE MKS! for a maxima this is progress though. did they dump the cvt and give me the choice of stick back?
  15. if pontiac is CAR, why do they now give us a new TRUCK?
  16. i think this sort of thing could be tested in the courts. not neccessarily the tax itself, but the type of tax.....i.e. they could easily prove in court that evidence of the theory of global warming is in no way conclusive enough to base a taxation policy off of.
  17. MAGNUM, 300, VERY COMFY REAR SEATS. 120 inch wb tho
  18. SALLY WAS COLD
  19. So, think about this. If PONTIAC is CAR.......(NEW ad campaign).... then why are they planning on selling a TRUCK? LOL. THAT's not gonna EFF with anyone's mind is it? i bet the ad campaign was done and good and literally in the last couple months they decided, 'oh, let's add the truck'.
  20. is that a fancy way of saying you want a Tundra with a car cover on it?
  21. i am worried this crossover thing is a mutation of the SUV fad and in five years, will look as silly. Still, you can't deny the added function for some of the SUV / crossovers is genuine. Viper, do you like GTI's?
