  1. i tend to think a cruze with 42-45 highway mpg and no overly complex systems at a much lower price to me would be more attractive.
  2. i read a while back that the next gen roadsters would be on a shortened alpha. at least with alpha you can get a trunk. 7,8 years ago, everyone was bleating 'you need niche models'. hence, the solstice. now its all, volume sellers. problem. not every model by every manuf will survive in the market as a volume seller. another problem.....people like something unique. kappa is unique. had GM pulled their head out of their arse and given it a trunk and some cupholder and for guys like me, LEG ROOM.........kappa could have a long life if GM would tend to fixing some basic f-ck ups they made with it.
  3. that test is not for the new US spec engine. and its a brit mag, so they will trash it regardless if it drove like a lotus and got 100mpg and had connolly leather.
  4. 25 and change for about 20k miles on it. Another one with full roof about 28k.
  5. but a minivan feels like a bus, odyssey included. and the odyssey is not that great of a drive. it feels like a bus, with a little sharper handling than most vans, but its noisy, lacks the console, and you feel the road impacts too much through the steering and floor and seat, and its steering feels too light and weak, as if a couple seasons of winter potholes will do it in. The chassis felt flimsy and the ride was harsh to be honest. Definitely did not feel bank vault solid. it doesn't possess the cush factor IMHO. A taurus x is a much more satisfying drive than the ody. but this R class really seems as if it would coddle everyone. It oozes class on the inside. Having driven the Flex, it's quite the road cruiser. Quiet and smooth. Secure and confident steering for 98% of the drivers who will be driving it. Quieter than the Odyssey, the dash is laid out nicer, it has a console and floor shifter too......the Flex's middle row does slide I believe (need to check that). All the interior surfaces have detail and heft that the ody does not. The Ody does have a cargo advantage, but the Quest out cargoes the ody if that's your thing. The ody is so bland only the Sienna out blands it. I don't think the Ody's second row stows even.
  6. used dealer i shop sometimes just got a bunch of off lease R Class 4 matics. I sat in one.....easily, easily this is the ultimate road trip vehicle. thing is, the price is CLOSE to attainable. for used, keep in mind. the interior is phenomenal. i just about drowned in the leather aroma. the one had the FULL LENGTH panorama sunroof. God i hope the sunshades do their job. i could seriously drive one of these......does anyone have any driving or interior impressions or experience with this vehicle? You get in one, you will want one.
  7. i got amwayed in a starbucks one time. UGH!
  8. some review i thought i caught wind of said the aveo5 refresh is pretty good and drives much better than the yaris and stuff. although consensus is the Yaris is crap so i guess that's not hard to do. this is America, people still will only drive small mostly due to needing to save dough. sure the fit is better, but there is always diminishing financial return to say, buying a mini. at some point it becomes fashion and snobbery. when you no longer have home equity line to buy entry level luxury cars like so many were because they were basically being automotive fashion snobs, when times get tight they are forced to drive affordable cars (i.e cars they can get credit on) but they still can't bring themselves to buy bread and butter makes so they cram their asses into little minis because they are hip and cool. that way they still save face with their friends (oh, i downsized from my Lexus RX into a mini, gotta save the environment and its so stylish!) but they only pay half as much for their car payment. then they piss and moan when they buy something from the store and it won't fit in the minis trunk or they can't take coworkers to lunch because no one wants to cram their ass into the back seat of it. so right now the fit is attractive to those who can't demean themselves low enough to buy basic economy..... I seriously question whether anyone buying a fit really wants to go that small and only have 120hp and a pop can frame.....but its a way they can stay affordable and save face within their ranks. it has the honda badge on it and it was expensive for its class, but they can still afford it, so they can walk that tightrope. at least aveo shoppers are demonstrating honesty. "I need a small car to save operating costs".
  9. at least in 2008 vs. 96 you don't need an ethernet cable with your laptop i'm all about central perk if a pokey Jennifer Aniston is still serving the drinks........
  10. well dodgefan, that's how i came to like the magnum was i had one as a loaner......but, i also learned what gave me pause about the car too. i bought 2 diamantes because we had one for a week as a rental in napa valley. they were almost totally fleet, but it was a nice car once the prices came down. that's why when folks rip mitsubishi i at least say i actually owned them and they are just as ok as any of the other asian barf. It did actually beat the pilot in an edmunds comparo...so its not like its crap. just dated now and a solid vehicle with assloads of warranty. actually over noon i went and looked at another endeavor, as i've had that as a loaner too....and a galant. for the prices you can get those cars, i'm glad they were in fleet for a year. it makes a great buy for someone like me that doesn't want to spend money on cars. speaking of the magnum, a lot i was on yesterday had an 06 black magnum....very sexy.....12 grand. But the 2.7 is the 2.7 (need more go juice) tthe interior is rubbermaid, and the RWD to me won't fly in this climate. The price was right and it looked hot. I'm glad actually that Dodge made that car...even if needs some tweaks, for the right price and equipment level I would strongly consider one as well.
  11. i've been tempted to get her one of those cheap ATV's....actually. or a dirt bike. but its not like there is anywhere to ride it in suburbia........
  12. my sister was an '82 yes, Merlot does not hit fast, and when it does hit, it is unlike anything else. one best know their threshold and not go over it
  13. well, coffeehouses were cool back in 96 i think. that said, i paid 2.63 for a depth charge at starbucks today....but alas it was through the drivethru....
  14. i'm torn. i kind of like the extra glass that 68 put in. the production version tends to look a bit MAXX-y. you know, the shape of the rear in profile is almost a dead ringer for the 9-3 sportcombi, which by the way has a nice stance over the rear wheels. very unwagony. i will say one thing....did anyone actually ever see a lexus IS sportcross? and a manual, no less?
  15. those people buy cars, no?
  16. the NAV screen should be where the slot and vents are. the vents should be moved down a bit. dumbasses didn't get the radio screen up high where its actually useful while driving. dumbasses.
  17. BUMP no saturn love for over a week wassup w dat?
  18. venza will sell, but will cannibalize the rav, highlander, and camry. to some degree its the same as like an edge with ford, it takes explorer sales, taurus sales, and escape sales.....etc. but if the market wants it (Venza) then that's where they should go with it. Toyota can likely flex production of the camry and venza well and they have the 4 cylinder to appeal to the greenies.
  19. oh yeah, they are either resurrecting the astro or reskinning the uplander.
  20. ron jeremy? LOL....truthfully, my favorite job would be no job. LOL
  21. does it have sync? i might as well test drive it, i think i've driven most everything else...LOL
  22. wow. mazda has some fleet queens. the uplander is the fleet god. people do need fleet cars though. fleets and rental can take advantage of the opportunity to impress someone about a brand or model.
