August 2008 Sales: Ford Motor Company

crv is down what, 18%? the market is waking up to the fact that the crv is an overpriced, underpowered gas hog with a cheap interior and a wussy exterior. -
August 2008 Sales: Ford Motor Company

Bad all around. wow. FLex is a FLop? i dont care if they will lease me one cheap next month. time for ford to whore out your new vehicles to me next month. good to see escape gaining sales and crv losing them. its nice to see customers starting to wise up on that one. in truth part of the problem is that Ford has too many high MSRP vehicles. no wonder sales tank if the fusion, escape and focus are the only affordable vehicles in the lineup. MKs has gotten off to a decent start, i hear they are turning in less than 7 days. -

um, camry is up and that's about it. The IS is up also, i guess the poor can't afford the LS, but still need a Lexus. take away camry and yaris and its a terrible month for toyota. -
C/D has a short take road test of an 09 Malibu 2.4 6 speed auto. 0-60 in 8.6 i think, 0.7 better than the 4 speed. not much else to say other than it makes it more fun, more frugal, and something else. just repeat what they said and call it good.

GM brings back employee pricing to sell remaining 2008 models
regfootball replied to Intrepidation's topic in General Motors
I've been buying from salespeople who cater to me on the phone and email for the last close to 10 years. my 99 prizm i found on GM buypower and consummated the deal via email with the internet sales guy at the chevy dealer back then. since then, emails and a phone call or two is all you need. figure out your fair price like stang said, tell them you are serious, give them an offer. OC sounds like a guy i would do business with. He sees that my time and being direct and to the point are important. The T Rex i bought a couple weeks ago. My 500 i got from the dealer by my house because the salesguy was cordial, and took care of any concern i wanted and was quick and consistent with keeping in touch with me via email. He left, so i tried to do business with another salesman there.....but he didn't 'get it'. Unresponsive, and was more interested in serving his needs than mine. When i saw also like OC said that the leasing was not going to even come close as an option this time around I started used hunting. I found a unit online and called the dealer. Within a couple hours i had been contacted via phone and email, and the sales guy promised to follow up with me as i wish. The next morning i got skittish on missing out on a good deal and i drove up and bought the car. The whole thing was consumated via email and couple phone calls that morning. The financing was done in an hour or so and i could have even driven the rig home that day. Point being, the sales guy made it convenient for me and was very can do and pleasant and non pressure, yet made sure to let me know he would work with me in the most expedient and electronically convenient way possible. I didn't want to spend all day dicking around with a new flunkie trying to hear him painfully recite some vehicle features he thought he knew from reading the brochure. For close to ten years now i buy vehicles from internet guys or salesguys with email and internet savvy. they understand what i want and how i want it. i don't need to be stuck with the rube who is on the floor just to fill a quota for bodies on the floor. that makes me NOT want to buy the car from that person. -
glad i didn't buy that tinny small car. keep those gas prices coming down so i can buy another fuel drinker!
-
oh. well, she was driving an old A body Century. early 90's was my guess.

basically he bought corvair last year and got much more for it on trade then he paid. when he sells his old SLS, it will make up for what he traded for. essentially he will get this car for the price he paid for the corvair....which was paltry.

would i degrade my wife into driving a toyota?
-
she gave me all the inusrance info and the fix is already arranged for estimate w/ her insurance 100% to be paid for.

the way the door is on the flex, it would have been mega damage.

BTW, they like the CTS, mom really likes the CTS and STS but they wouldn't touch one because of the RWD.

attractive mature young girl, this stuff happens. i can only imagine how many young boys were trying to get with that. to some degree the repubs need to stop being the moral majority becuase when this happens, it makes them lok a bit hypocritical. at the same time, the appearance i get is of a tight knit family that despite typical issues like this that occur in every family, they have their $h! together for the most part and will handle this life change in a supportive way. my question would be, did you use birth control, or maybe its none of my business....and we all know that the main goal of many young boys is simply to find attractive girls like that and attempt to have sex with them. we always blame the women, but until we start cutting off some young boys' tools, its equal fault in my book. we all focus on who gets caught, when we should be focusing on can we simply abstain or at least use birth control as much as possible? Boys that age will hump just about anything, can't we try to talk them into humping something besides an ovulating girl? can we at least say the classic bj is an appropriate substitute to the honey pot? As much of Palin is getting exposed, at least she doesn't appear to be a big fricking useless joke on society like Hillary.

why couldn't ethel simply have waited or merely parked a stall over????????????????????

naw, he's tight.....2002 DHS northstar. pics up later. sharp car....about 75k miles. he traded the corvair for it. made off like a bandit on the corvair and made money on that. stole the DHS. Daddy is a wise man. Platinum white, the interior has a front bench . heated rear seats though. sunshades and messaging seats too. damn seat belt thingies are power operated even!!!!!!!! the vaccum flourescent gauges are way cool. very blingy chrome rims. he got a serious deal on this thing. i even wouldn't mind the car, very nice. he moved up 10 years over his 02 seville for about 3000 bucks.

no lie. wife is loading up the kid at a burger joint in a town on the way. rear drivers door open. all vacant spots to the left the car....like 15 of them seriously. we were about 40-50 feet from the entry door into the building. old lady, old a body buick century. couldn't wait till we were done, nor could she have moved one spot over. she decided to pull into the next spot and she simply couldn't miss the car. fortunately she did BARELY miss taking out my wife's legs, and she managed to nail the open rear door. FORTUNATELY she managed enough restraint so that she directly hit the plastic pontiac er, cladding, on the bottom the of the door. Popped the f6cking cladding off entirely and the holder piece behind it. Because she hit the cladding first and it took the impact, the rest of the door moved out of the way enough to clear the corner of her bumper, thus avoiding the main part of the door and the structure taking any structural or paint damage. right now its looking like trim work only. My wife is still ambulatory, and i am not a single parent. and 'gladys' (name withheld) still got to enjoy her hot and fresh burger without major guilt. F-k was i livid though. HAD THE RIG ONE WEEK AND ALREADY THE AARP HAS A BOUNTY OUT ON ME! this will be the third trip to the body shop this year. combine that with the dent the dealer needs to fix that was not caught at delivery and I HAVE HAD IT with people trying to rape my cars this year!!!!!!!!! SON OF A BISH!!!!!!!!!!! the curse has hit me three times now in less than a year, WTF did i do to deserve this?
-
oy vey! that's spendy!!!!!!! oh wait, those are CA $$$$$$
-
third time in less than a year! the new car, had it a week and it got nailed! F*CK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just got back from a 600+ mile trip in the new T-Rex. 21.5 for the first 1/3 of the trip in stiff winds but the last 2 parts were serious stop and no go and seriously horrible winds, probably netted about 19 at best for the last 2 parts. still ok i guess for a 4500 lb vehicle with awd and 3 people and loaded up a lot.
