  1. that WAS needed at that time, considering the real threat Russia represented and is trying to get back to again.
  2. it's a bit like asking to get punched. nothing against Obama, but more that the dems are in charge of the house and senate. one thing i am glad about. now i won't have to sit and listen to everyone bitch anymore, because their messiah has come. the scary thing is that some people have looked forward to this as more important to them, moreso than things like friends, family or their religion. People are expecting a lot, when really they need to look at their own lives and wonder why they are asking a politician to fulfill all the things they are missing in their lives. It's not like everyone is helpless to make positive changes in your own lives. Maybe they should try to figure out why their own fulfillment and happiness is something they can't handle on their own. You should be gaining most of your worth in your life from your family and friends and religion. Not from your government. again, nothing against Obama, I just hope he decides to serve the masses and not all the special interests that raised all his cash, or the radical left. I suppose they are already trying to figure out how to spike a couple of supreme court judges meals in order to speed up that 'replacement' process.
  3. i am checking out GM's 'red tag sale' prices. plus 'cash back'. still isn't enough. do you want to move metal GM?
  4. don't puke on the paint, it'd prob rust. the prius only does one thing. low mpg. it's a one trick pony. judged by any other facet or feature, especially on price, it is inferior to many other competitors.
  5. the accord and camry only sell on reputation these days. they are me too products with no superior advantages over anything else.
  6. 240hp normally aspirated v6 with 6 speed automatic and updated handling, plus a nicer more functional interior. choice of a FUEL EFFICIENT 170hp 4 cylinder with 6 speed. major debits for the CX-7 for cheap interior, turbo motor that sucks fuel, and overall creepy styling. The ford products have sync also. Tiguan gets debits for a small cargo area.
  7. Here's mine updated 1. Escape / Mariner 1. Vue 3. Outlander 4. CX-7 5. RAV 6. Grand Vitara 6. Rogue 6. CRV 9. Compass / Patriot 10. Equinox / Torrent 11. Sportage/Tuscon 12. Forester 13. XL7 what did i miss
  8. it was easy for the imports to gain share when people can draw 40k off their HELOC's.... now that people need to regin in their spending, and its not like they won't need cars, cars that provide value for the price will be the ones that sell in volume. People used to think spending 5k more for the camry because of 'better resale' thought it was worth it back then. But now, residuals on anything will be crap, and banks are not giving out crazy money. So when people buy new cars, they will want the most for their money. This is why GM needs to cut prices across the board. Their MSRP's are way too high, as is everyone. Instead of waiting to sell their stuff on redtag sales, they need to get the price to the actual value quicker and move the metal that way. We're going to see a while new paradigm here. I think average transaction prices will drop and only cars that provide a lot of features and value for the money will be the only ones that sell in volume. I think a lot of luxury marques will be in trouble too. Ford, GM, etc in my mind can benefit more from this adjustment in people's spending than anyone. People will be less 'picky' and will look harder at price and warranty and stuff.
  9. my bddy in KC says 1.68 today
  10. ford effed with their incentives too. an edge i was keeping an eye on, was about 3 grand lower in september than october. its their own fault really.
  11. fish taco
  12. yet, on Sept 30, the price they would sell me an Astra for was 2500 less than one week later, at the end of the model year. Saab sales were up, due to aggressive october incentives. Based upon my experience, even though the market was down, the fact that the incentives were taken away, is GM's own fault. They want to sell cars, they need to adjust the pricing to move the metal. Raising them 15% at the end of the model year is not a logical way to do that.
  13. 2.4 direct inject 200hp 4 would be a nice base engine and a 3.6 direct inject v6 would be a nice option.
  14. that's because the prius is a one trick pony. there is not really any other feature set about it that makes it compelling besides its gas mileage. I would have hated to put myself in a box paying 10 grand more for it over a cobalt XFE or focus since now with 2 dollar gas you really won't save much. excepting fuel economy, the prius fails on just about every other automotive attribute in virtually every justification comparison you can make.
  15. my recent test drive extravaganzas included a cobalt XFE. its a quiet car, and has very good power and is very smooth. my hesitations were primarily ergonomic, the seat was nasty to my back and the shifter throw was a bit off my natural motion. Also, it seemed like there was distortion looking out through the windshield. And yeah, the interior could be nicer. I felt the steering needed some feel. Aside from that to me the Cobalt is an entirely likable vehicle. I would recommend one to just about anybody. The powertrain alone is worthy of kudos. I wish that powertrain was in the Astra I want so much (the astra corrects all the other things I may not like about the cobalt).
  16. hard to get excited about a prius when gas is only 2 bucks.
  17. too much of the mag harped on fuel economy. gas is 2 bucks. nobody cares. the press ragged and ragged about the auto industry not being up to the minute on the fad of the day, i think its entirely appropriate to suggest the magazines aren't quite with it up to the moment either. if they knew what they were doing and weren't incompetent, they would have known this month that gas prices wouldn't be an issue right now. their articles should not focus on something that's not an issue right now.
  18. bravo
  19. anyone driving a Lexus would make me dart on the spot.
  20. double standards and excuses. forgot to add that.
  21. another car that would make me run, a Yaris or just about anything with DEM bumper stickers on it.
  22. You met someone for a blind date. It knocked your socks off, they were great. But, you decided, you'll both go home separate....tonight. You walk out to the parking lot of the Olive Garden together, only to find out she (he?) drives a........... (insert car here). Did it just burst your bubble? For example, if i were single and needed to blind date, if i had the best of dates and went back out to find that this person drove a Camry or CRv or Subaru, I think that would be a major sign to hightail out of the relationship. Conversely, if this woman is driving a new G8 GXP, then I think it may be heaven on earth. What car in your potential blind date mate makes you run away!?
  23. Fargo is traffic hell in spots but has two main interstate spines. sioux falls has a nice ringlet around the populated parts.
