  1. my wife enjoyed that one! can i quote you on my signature?
  2. don't politicians fly private jets? doesn't Al Gore fly to global warming conferences in a private carbon spewing jet? that Alan Mulally's old company maybe built? People seem to equate Mulally with red ink rick (C-BUICKMAN) and nardelli in terms of performance. Mulally has proved to be able to turn around an industrial company and in my mind deserves every penny he is getting paid, when taken in the context of the work he has done so far and how much execs get paid at other companies selling like mouthwash for example.
  3. i was fresh in college and a best buy music dept manager when the GNR records came out. it was a phenomenon that was incredible. i stocked thousands of these discs. and partied hard many times at keggers to 'paradise city' etc. and here it is like 15 years later or more (18?) and i finally the have the successor to UYI 1 and 2. sorry, this sucks. WTF was axl thinking? i'll listen to it some more, but this is just NOT near as good. wtf is this crap?
  4. um, no car of 1995 or 1998 vintage will not cost money to keep on the road.
  5. new Pilot sucks too. But the highlander indeed is majur suckage.
  6. have to say, i really like the BLS wagon, wish i could get one here. i am waiting for more price adjustment on the astra cause i would love to drive one for a couple years. twin panel roof, 5 speed, all of that. if that doesn't happen i'll wait a bit. if i had more $$$$ i'd just go get a Flex. 010 taurus and fusion/milan have piqued my interest now. And i could succumb to the SUV urge again with cheaper gas and just get a cheap used Endeavor to drive for a couple years. Lots of room, lots of warranty, easy to find a virtually new one cheap. Probably might drive a Versa tomorrow. Always been curious on that car. I should drive a Fit too, if I can find one. Satty, has your wife seen the SX4 crossover? My neighbor who owns the SSR when they bought recently, looked at the Mini and then got the SX4. they liked the SX4 a lot, and saved a buttload of money.
  7. as soon as the new cobalt SS hits. it outperforms the asian sport compacts so they have to 'restructure' to deal with it.....LOL
  8. POLITICIANS FLY COACH TOO?
  9. ITS sooo PRODUCTIVE FOR A CEO WHOSE BILLING RATE IS THOUSANDS PER HOUR TO SIT AND WAIT AT THE TACO BELL IN THE AIRPORT FOR HIS CONNECTING FLIGHT TO NEWARK
  10. oy.
  11. where's our Insignia on these shores, sir?
  12. only 29 mpg for a 6 speed manual? wow, that's poor. doesn't the larger GM Epsilon cars handily outpace this car for mpg? my God the front end will swallow something. what a drama queen reskin. this is a reskin. nice how the dash is overdone. reminds of a mid nineties bonneville meets civic. at least its not a horrible dash like the civic. the civics interior is one of the worst in recent memory.
  13. cut the crap with the private jet BS. major companies run private jets to reduce travel time and increase efficiency of its highest paid employees to improve their productivity. the senators and journalists casting stones at this, check their records, they fly private too. that was a big publicity ploy. love your tunnel vision. research the issue a little why don't ya.
  14. Love it. Creative thinking!
  15. all the people who took advantage of it, are probably the ones now decrying SUV's like mad. in fact, yes, one of the people i know who bought an SUV with that credit, not only does the wife drive a prius, but he traded his ford for a touareg. She is fervently a green talker, yet his VW weighs on the way to 3 tons. go figure.
  16. no, i got the 500 because i got more for my money. my lease payment and total money outlay was about the same as a civic or mazda 3. better safety, way cheaper to insure, 23-25 city real world mpg, and actually sturdy enough on frozen potholes. aside from being repulsed by the notion of driving something as flimsy as a civic, i actually got real function out of the car. and close to 30mpg on trips. not to mention being alble to take an entire family including pack and play and stroller or even small bicycles, plus luggage for 3. the trunk alone on my 500 was twice as large as that stupid civic with the gameboy dash.
  17. for vw...AIG, LOL like i said in the other topic, this detroit lynching has a sidebar, the south is pissed that they couldn't get plants from the detroit 3, now look at how they get their revenge..........and you wonder why they are so against it

    My 2 cents

i like a lot of the points. i am darn close to posting a long rant myself on my blog that 7 people read.
  19. i think all i really want is for people to acknowledge that its not just the domestics who are having problems selling cars. let's see, toyota, saved by 0 nissan 0.9% bmw- 0.9% lexus, i think they have some specials EVERYONE is hurting. but yet, they make it sound like the domestics are the culprits.
  20. x2, but this is what people say they want. i will say this, the cube makes a great case for the transit connect as a daily driver
  21. explain how to prop up caddy as a world brand when it has not gained any traction yet outside the US?
  22. we're accelerating the path to china buying our automakers. that's fine. all those who bought those lexus with their home equity loans.
  23. wow. crazy, i know at least 3 people off the top of my head that bought large trucks or SUV's a certain GVWR or above specifically to depreciate them quickly and save big bucks. it was for purveyors of businesses, and they used them as work and pleasure vehicles. i.e.e run the kids to soccer in the big durango. why do you suppose detroit was building so many, how else did hummer take off so much?
  24. i am fine calling it Opel as long as der BorGer sends me a blitz airbag cover for my astra when i get it.
