Peugeot Selected As Brand for PSA's Return to U.S.
regfootball replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Peugeot
Well kinda looking at the tourx right now. But still have a few months left on current lease. Not that GM Isn’t sending pull ahead offers. Not sure yet if I can swing something that nice yet for a second car. -

WAIT? PUEGUOT AND CITROEN? AND RENAULT TOO? I actually thought the plan for PSA to come back to market was to feed the rental car market. I agree, no one has been clamoring for any of these brands to come back. Why not revive Saab and then bring Opel over too. I suppose PSA may be pleased with fiat level sales....... Hey maybe they should bring Opel here so they can sell this, since Buick won't -

It’s the GM cycle. New model comes out. Priced way too high can’t lease or buy but room for incentives later in time. Cycle the new model intros so they don’t overlap each other. Buyer has to choose between newest thing at full price or older model in the other brand that’s about the same price with discounts. I’ve been hard on the XT5 but in real world price comparo to Blazer I have a lot more appreciation for XT5. -
I never really gave my review for the TourX did i? Let me say that I may have been harsh on the Regals (the four cylinder turbos previously). Check out the recent pics from my lot stalking test drives. YOU SHOULD LOOK AT THESE WHILE YOU HAVE THE CHANCE! You cannot find vehicles this nice at these prices often anymore (by that I mean with the discounts). I am convinced that these are very good rides! Are they the best? No, but nothing is, how long will it be till you can't find a car with 250 horsepower anymore? And the drivetrain is SO smooth compared to available crossovers in comparison. The turbo four is much better in this car than the v6 in the GS. If you want a wagon, this is about as good looking as it gets. Crossovers be damned. Buick missed BADLY by not including heated seats and wheel in the preferred trim on these cars. Blind spot / cross path monitors should be standard on Buicks, too.

I've been told that the old 2.0 may be rated to run best on 91-93 but that it can run fine on 87 'top tier' gas is what is recommended. My Malibu 1.5 turbo loves plain 87 octane junk gas and in fact if i put 91 or 93 in it it can have a shit fit (check engine light). The new one is defintely slower. Might be a bit better on gas mileage and is designed to run on plain 87 octane. But i am beginning to believe that the old 2.0 is a nice proven engine and does a good job with the power it does put out. -

I would get a lower spec Xt4 before I would get a blazer, that's after driving both, for about the same money. A good CPO XT5 over the Blazer, absolutely! -

The Sebring convertible was a good seller and I think Buick brought the cascada over to plug that rental convertible gap when the Sebring went away. Cascada should have had more motor.

the turbo four is the new one, from the Cadillac. It's power is down here from the venerable older 2.0. Just like it is when they switched and put the new one in the CT6. A curious decision, But, TRIPOWER! -

I hadn't looked much into what Grand Cherokees are being priced at these days, but after doing some quick research, it seems crazy evident that the GC is a screaming deal, and you know it's going to have a solid driveline to boot. Nicely loaded GC? Or any other GM crossover. The Cadillac Escape...er, XT4, while being a cool vehicle, if a Grand Cherokee is a far better buy and better vehicle its an easy decision. Actually, as bland as I think the XT5 is, at this point I would find a lightly used XT5 or heavily discounted one a FAR better option for a CUV than this Blazer. Until there is 7-10 grand off the Blazer, its a huge turd bucket IMO. -
Mercedes A Class interior is a complete POS trainwreck of a design. But the fanbois will go for it
