all luxury marques that were peddling RWD cars have had to add AWD as a feature to keep their product lines salable. Like prior poster said, maybe the AWD should be optional, but in the case of Cadillac, my guess is they gave in the Eps platform simply out of need to not want to develop another rear bias platform. the real question is why wasn't Zeta designed for AWD capable. Again, shortsightedness on the part of the General.

versa is cheap and tinny. the shifter is ok but the chassis does not feel solid. power is down compared to the cobalt. believe it or not, cobalts interior is nicer than the versa. cobalt feels much more solid overall. versa has cheap interior which on the used one i drove with 13k on it, already felt like it had 50+ k miles on it. versa might be selling, but look too at owner comments on how 'reliable' versas are. cobalt really is a better car than the versa. i wonder if people are really aware how unrefined some of the powertrains are in this class of car. the cobalt has a very good engine by comparison to lots of cars you can buy for equal price.

kia only needs to meet a standard of care. the press and such has not required them to produce 'segment busters' yet. that said, this isn't bad. lots of design cliches from other models. but overall you won't mind having one. In five years will all our vehicles be Korean? Toyota ought to be scared.
