  1. work your ass off when you're young and try at the same time to figure out how to not have to do it once you get older.
  2. "CIMARRON HYBRID" can't you already see the press raping this? F-ck the auto journalists. they are glorified gossippers.
  3. does an Aztek count the same? If not, at least know I wish i could update my ride with some sort of desirable new Pontiac. Pontiac and Saturn were my two fave GM brands. I'm not dead (or close to it), like Buick fans. no go on the trans am. pontiac does not need the mullet stigma anymore. keep the g8, refine it, add the coupe and wagon (the coupe concept from the aus auto show) call the coupe GTO. Grand Prix or Bonneville? next, the TORANA, as the next G6. If its not on alpha, than EPs 2 is fine, just make it nice. Sedan, coupe, not sure if convertible is needed. Grand am? Solstice, move to alpha for the next gen. Bring the Astra OPC as the G4 grand am or lemans. Sell the basic version too.
  4. no offense, but you're saying we should all either be urban/metrosexuals instead of fast and furious ricers? Pontiac should be neither.
  5. how many of those listed are for CARS and for the passengers, not pedestrians? The pedestrian should have never been in the street in the first place. Volvo is safety king.
  6. all the criticism from the general public is complete hypocrisy, why? quite a few reasons 1- if the industry that all the armchair quarterbacks were in was subject to the same international competition and disadvantages (i.e. japan and protectionism) chances are every industry in this country would fail. more, a lot of folks who levy the criticism are paper pushers, i.e. people who don't produce anything. I find it hard at this time to for example accept input from anyone in the financial industry, look at what a big failure that has been. 2- union, pensions, healthcare, all that. people criticize detroit for the product but the product has ben cheap because of the money needed to pay for all that. if you were the one who worked the factory and now after 30+ years to see you may get screwed on your pension, lets see how you feel. Let's take the retirement and pension and healthcare away from the armchair quarterback and see how they feel about it then. 3- many of the foreign car humpers were not just accord owners. people defected to imports en masse during the home equity loan binge and cashed out their house to buy lexus, infiniti, etc. and are comparing chevy's and dodges now to them. cmon, you can't compare a 50k lexus to a 20k chevy and hold them to the same standard. now these same people are the ones $h!ting bricks because part of the reason they are upside down on their house is that lexus they bought with home equity cash and they are hanging by a thread on their job. Perhaps if they supported a local company it would stabilize it and their job would be more secure.
  7. you and i both know the old frame based truck based SUV's were a perception thing. the more mass = better crash thing. i never said the hulking SUV's always performed better, just that the public thought they did. Just like the public automatically thinks an Asian car is better than anything.
  8. this is why people started buying hulking SUV's in the first place.
  9. i saw a different one, but hey that works too.
  10. did anyone stop to think that a lot of people (despite what the liberal granola asswipes say) don't want small cars?
  11. true, with hondas you HAVE to check under the hood to see if there is even an engine there, there is so little torque
  12. there is a photochop from a few months ago of a 'chevy stingray' which is basically a sky with the bowtie on it. anyone have that?
  13. the interior design has never bothered me but the leather and plastic have been cheap. my current fave way to spec the 300 interior is the brown color and in cloth. its warmer.
  14. Somehow I stumbled on this one. Yep, same guy who went toxic on the camaro. the subject matter is a little more popular to folks here. Honestly though, its not even the subject matter in this article or whether you care or whatever. This guy is such a foul writer. This is not journalism, this is just someone going off. How many therapists does this asshole have? Whatever he writes about seems to be toxic to read. All he seems to do is have a snit with the pen. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...notes041009.DTL

  16. there's some truth to that. the 85/15 stuff grills pretty well. We've actually found some of the 93/7 stuff to grill pretty well too lately.
  17. Pontiac has opportunity right now and at least has customers who are not on life support. Buick is only premium to the blue hairs right now. Buick is starting over too. A new Opel Skylark and Regal teamed with the LaCrosse, bring over the chinese park avenue and get going CHOP CHOP on the lucerne replacement (or at least refresh the thing and put a real motor and 6 speed in it) and maybe buick has hope. Pontiac deserves to stay. there is no advantage to dropping pontiac unless you drop buick, and GMC with it. Reducing to Chevy and Cadillac only means GM will be down to 12-13% share way too soon. When sales pick up in a year, and this thing takes off, still having BPG can only help GM.
  18. yeah i think people want the 'tough' part but don't neccessarily want the look that suggests full capability so i guess in that regard the look is somewhat faux. but isn't that how this whole type of vehicle became popular? GM have to peddle something rigid looking with hummer soon to go. actually this to me is simply a GM interpretation of say, a Land Rover. Upright, not sleek, blocky.
  19. BTW, the one pic says 'add premium ingredients' but it has the fattest, nastiest hamburger you can buy (the 73/27 stuff). that's not premium meat.
  20. although i would get like a godfathers pizza delivered and use those instead of the digorno or whatever. or even use a papa murphys.
  21. OMG! another recipe to try!
  22. 'one shot and you're out for the count'
  23. we've already been through this, it sells in a much lower price point. it's not trying to be a poseur. and the transverse platform cars are what people want. better handling, lighter, easier on gas. they still get through a snowfall, they are not trying to climb pikes peak. so then the jeep patriot is a poseur too?
  24. so pcs, why stop at handcuffs. just break out the 'sex taser'
