in the infamous recent thread where i explained about the car that got stuck on the street by my daughter's school on the snow day this past winter......the car in question was an LS. Level flat street with a little fresh snow. Couldn't move. Had to be pushed. I've had snows on my Tbird before and it helped a lot, but the car has got to have something tangible for it going for me if i ever get another rear driver. For a Camaro, or Magnum, i would consider it. My neighbor who does actual promo and is on Dodge's payroll even told me not to get a RWD Magnum, even with the ESP. This is from a guy who loves RWD performance rides. He said the LX cars are skates, and the staibility control doesn't do much for it with stock tires. He said to make it drivable you basically need to get snows and even then its not ideal. I seem to recall though, the v6 LS s had great weight distribution. It was like 51/49 or 52/48 I think. I would think depending on how much ICE you get, if you buy snows, and throw 100 pounds in the trunk, and had a light driver, that the LS would prob be fine for a lot of winter driving around town and the metro area as long as there are not a lot of killer inclines. The LS is a nice vehicle and I think it prob falls into the category of worth dealing with weather issues if the car is well taken care of and is a good buy.

right. the cube was one of the biggest piles of garbage i saw at the auto show this year. the soul is passable. the xb is just the xb and even with its effed up dash, still seems like a reasonable vehicle. the element is the class of this field (sarcasm) and its got a cheap interior also. and yet folks whine if the plastic is too cheap on a cobalt.

on second thought, considering who owns government motors now, i doubt beretta is politically correct.
-
they were supposed to build the new one too. partly why they had it in the contract that the impala name is only built in oshawa.
-
yeah the grille has less chrome on it on the sport pack i think.
-
maybe we will have impala classic, without the leaping impala, and an impala SS.
-
the sport package had larger wheels. more aggressive spokes.

Supreme Court delays Chrysler's sale to Fiat
regfootball replied to Justin Bimmer's topic in Chrysler
it was inevitable something like this would happen. better chrysler first than GM. -
the wheels don't look like the sport wheels and the grille is more chromed than i thought the sport models were, but the LS covered many years and configurations. i'll admit i am not savvy enough on all the model years of the LS to know for sure.

no i think the debadging is to take the impala identifier off the car so that in the time continuum there is further spacing of the current model from any impala badging so the next one can arrive sooner than thought possible. http://www.autonews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti.../306089931/1197 only glitches, i thought oshawa had the rights to the impala name.

GM turns to Volt to revitalize its image

and the volt wasn't paid for by the japanese govt either, like the prius was -
i used to compare my 99 SHO with my brother in law's 96 SHO. his had carpeted (or whatever) lower interior kick panels on the door, and dampers on the glove box i think and JBL audio. Among other niceties. My door panels were pure cheap crude plastic, no slow moving glovebox, and much cheaper stereo. there was other stuff that got decontented also. I just can't remember all of it right now. hasn't chevy done this on the impala with the side markers and laminated window glass or something?

financing is usually a stickler with older cars. but, this one is a really nice one, and a really nice LS. i have looked at some LS in the last few years and I can tell just from the pictures that this one seems more well kept than most. its a nice color combo also. the LS is a unique car. I've never test driven the v8, but i have test driven the v6 manual a few times. does this have the sport suspension or standard suspension?

my parents 88 century even had auto headlights. every ford i have had has had them. my two diamante mitsubishis even had it. a lot of GM luxury car in the 80's and 90's even had them.

GM turns to Volt to revitalize its image

and hybrids still sell what, 2% of cars sold in the US? who wouldn't love to have one, but they rarely make financial sense. and if you do commit to a hybrid, at least there are good looking ones out there. fusion hybrid, altima, volt. notice how the prius and insight were not included in that description. what does it matter anyways? when all our cars get 40mpg, the price of gas will triple, so the oil companies get even richer, and the government will start taxes your miles driven from the black box they have planted in your car, not from gas tax. hybrids are a gateway to greater social control if their development is not left to free market. -
most reviews have said this is good. i was going to ignore it, but best buy has it for 9.99 this week, and amazon has it for a 3.99 download. i love hagar and van hagar, so its pretty obvious i will be owning this, perhaps as early as this afternoon.

i have a sneaking suspicion that the taking of the impala badge off the impala and the g8 demise means the g8 becomes impala and the current impala gets renamed 'classic' and gets heavy fleet duty starting in about late 2010. no facts, just a guess on my part.

cobalt is a good name. the car was not quite as good as the name. i would have kept cobalt name and sold the cruze with the cobalt name.

GM to sell Saturn brand to Penske dealership chain
regfootball replied to Justin Bimmer's topic in General Motors
yes, that's a megan sedan, although the renault is better looking. penske is covering his ass quite well to some degree if he does sell this because the megane range includes it all, hatches 3 and 5 door, sedan apparently, and wagon. thus partially getting back to the spirit of saturn, a line of cars all sort of based off the same deal. if the intelligentsia is going to tell me i have to drive sushi then i might as well drive a penske brand sushi. at least i would still be telling toyota 'fu' in the process. -
lets first state the obvious.....cupholders, armrest, aux input, military time. bluetooth and nav. ok, now take out those things (which yes are a big deal to some shoppers). no sedan was prob the biggest fault. marketing wise the car was not promoted with a bang. GM had no money. at a minimum the car should have had the equal engine to the cobalt with a chain drive. and the optional cobalt SS motor. a 5 speed auto and 6 speed manual would have helped. sunroof on the coupe would help. a choice of a light interior would help. pricing was an issue since some of the niceties were left off. if you look, you can equip a focus at 22 grand but it does have sync. the hyundai elantra touring i checked out a couple weeks ago was near 22k and didn't even have leather. that's overpriced too. all compacts are overpriced. there is not one compact that is worth paying more than 17k or so new out the door (unless its like a wrx or mazdaspeed3). stabilitrak should have never been an option on this car when it offers things like rainsense and twin panel sunroof. i am still waiting for a dealer to cave on an astra and sell it to me for the price i want because the car handles on rails and the seating comfort and amenities are good. and the twin panel roof is way cool. GM made many mistakes for the astra which could have been masked by incentives and marketing. the exchange rate didn't allow them to. the issue is whether a buick astra built in mexico would have the same handicaps. the current astra was intended as a cheaply made over stopgap to plug the saturn compact hole for three years until the new one could be built in mexico. GM made the wrong choices on how cheap to go with bringing it to the US.

i bet toyopet, scion and lexie has almost as many models as chevy + buick + caddy (excepting pickups)

I know EXACTLY which one you are talking about. I've tried to find that thing 3 or 4 times now on the internet and can't.
