they are selling well here. i have seen several of them. cheap interior, but it is designed nicely. why buy a corolla? this segment will boom, as long as its not as ugly as the cube. this and the Kia Forte will make Kia sales FLY off the charts. ok by me, as long as toyota is the victim.

my buddy who owned a passat and a chrysler van (3 of them) in the past, his wife was looking at a routan to replace the pilot. then i told him the routan was a chrysler. he no longer was interested. when i told him that the dodge and chrysler vans could be bought the same way for about 10 grand less, he flat out said NO WAY. having driven the routan, its pretty nice, but i wonder if some of the population found out it was a chrysler and felt duped by the 'german engineering' bit........ dodoge should immediately cease the current body style and suspension spec and slap a dodge grille on the routan and interior with stonogo and sell them at current prices, they would not be able to keep them in stock. folks who drop dead at seeing a 46k MSRP on a traverse will gladly go to dodge and drop 24k on a completely loaded grand caravan with the routans drive and style. IT IS a better van than the odyssey and sienna.

unfortunately that is true. the cruze will be an upgrade but it does not appeal to be top of class. the next aveo looks like garbage. OTOH, the fiesta and next focus look mighty good...... as the shiny black astra 3 door passed me on the road yesterday looking snazzy i can't help but think GM blew chunks on its launch here big time. and it looks like if they can't get the next one here either its another lost opportunity.........

i still dig GM cars and will support the products i like. Equinox, Malibu, Camaro, CTS, etc. so much good stuff. I compare it to other makes and aside from Ford I still like GM's product. I just hope chevy does not become too Koreanized.

routans had cheap leases on the table before the bank crash. initially they had a plan to move them. any family vehicle at 35k is a tough sell nowadays when you can't lease.

i am disliking and WTFing the proliferation of German and Asian luxury crossovers. q5,q7,glk, mlk,volvos,audis, etc. yada....... 1 series bmw to me is very wtf? it would be a different story if it were significantly lighter than the 3 series. but they share a lot of parts i hear. and their weight is close on some models. compass and patriot are noble ideas but seriously deserve a wtf these days. the liberty really should be the bottom end Jeep. All it needs for that is one additional powertrain that actually gets good mileage. Hyundai Azera and Kia Amanti are big time wtf.... g3 and g5 obviously......

you did pick some very good ones there. kia rondo has to be top dorkwagon available for sale anywhere. People still seem to buy those hondas even though they have atrocious styling. The Chevy Traverse is so much better in so many ways than the Pilot, except it lacks an "H" on the grille.

gotta chime in here. the Routan is the most appealing van on the market. VW should not be selling the 3.8, but its the best looking and the 4.0 6 speed drives very well. Yes, i have driven one. I notice the used broker in town has already gotten a few used ones (prob company vehicles). You are right, this vehicle is not of VW character. But this is the Dodge Caravan that should have the Dodge badge on it. In lux trim its the best interior of all vans. Cube is crap. No exception to that statement. X6 is terrible and I don't care how 'well it drives'. No BMW defender can justify a 3 ton autobahn ready aztek made in US. Vibe. I agree. I drove a Vibe 2.4/man about 2 weeks ago, and while its a perfectly functional and highly useful car, it has no business being a Pontiac and evaluated amongst itself its very synthetic and mind numbing. The Routan is a good product that simply needs a new badge. The others you mention are actually bad products. There is no way to fix the Cube, the X6 is just an inherent 'wtf'? and the Vibe lacks passion of any kind although if let loose some engineers and tuners on it you might be able get something somewhat entertaining out of it. The Vibe's styling is not altogether bad, even if the interior makes you want to stick a knife in your side.

you think GM would ever make an AWD, manual trans luxury sedan or wagon? pipe dream........ be lucky the lacrosse even offers it...AWD that is.......

it was stupid to delay it. i cancelled my direct tv due to cost a couple weeks ago. after 6 mo of unemployment its hard to keep paying 100/mo. then i had the cable guys come out but they did not tell me i would not get all the channels i was paying for unless i got 4 more cable boxes which was 30 bucks a month more than originally thought, so i opted not to. now, i am just waiting for the direct tv folks to call me back with an 'offer i can't refuse'. the cable with the promo rate was going to cost me even more than the direct tv. if i wait this out a little bit or go through my phone provider and reactivate the direct tv, i'll prob save 30-40 bucks a month for the next year. just gonna take some time out from having to pay for it for awhile. I don't really want to have 4 converter boxes in my house. I have 2 and the plasma which is already digital. the next thing that may go soon. landline and cell phones may become magic jack and prepaid tracfones.

perhaps someone will allow you to do a 'split screen' in the future. one that divides the big HD screen up into 4 or hey even 9 separate scenes all at one time. multi tasking porn. or at a minimum, they could show the same scene from multiple camera angles at one time. gotta take the glass half full approach. glass half full........hmm, that even applies to porn too.........

well, getting channels at all now after today will have required some work. i dont really watch tv either, but to be able to actually GET tv for weather and news etc. will apparently be a big plus now.

so wisely i chose to suspend my direct tv last week. of course, until the other day, i didn't have any converter boxes either. well, i have one of them hooked up now. should be interesting to see if i am a go. does one need a whole new antennae also? i have the plasma, which has the digital tuner. I think i just need an antennae for that. i have 4 other TV's, of which 2 of them for now I will have converters for. I have an antennae hooked up to the first one which I believe is an HD antennae, but we'll see. Big question, is the converter box still worthless without a proper antennae? That's what i don't get. It's coming! Are you CONVERTED?

lets wait and see how edmunds buthchers it. i saw the nox at the autoshow. its gorgeous. the vue is a fun to drive vehicle. this is bound to be even better. i may have to consider one. the mpg alone is worth it. i am glad this will expose the crv and rav and forester for the crap they are. in comparison to the edge, this will return huge fuel economy advantage with similar function.

honestly though, the camaro, equinox, malibu, cruze, traverse, tahoe, silverado, that's a pretty solid lineup. caddy has CTS and SRX to tread water. LaCrosse, Regal, Terrain, Acadia, good products! Buick and GMC is the part that can still be pared down over time. the rest of the brands have been shed per wishes of divine world superpowers. the same public that argued that they bought a cahmree because it was a better product, should take their own advice and judge the GM product on its merit, not based upon rhetoric or bias, if they want to adhere to their own self created impartial standard. oh but wait, see, it was never an impartial standard.
