  1. maybe saab will pull its head out of its butt and say put a 2.0 direct injection turbo like the COBALT SS has into their delta 9-3 and sell it at a reasonable price. No, saab would never want to actually sell any cars, would they. IOW, a car that performs like or better than a cobalt SS, the size of the cruze, and priced well. so, how does this 95 stack up vs. the volkswagen CC then? a base CC is actually priced not so bad. and looks GREAT
  2. almost inspires vista 'burning' parties. it certainly deserves to be torched in that fashion.
  3. windows 7 preorder 49.99 best buy this week
  4. next 93 on a delta would make sense from the standpoint of the current 93 is cramped. the cruze apparently even has more room
  5. love it! saab will price it at like 75k though.
  6. the 89 SHO
  7. does the grocery store get rid of the meat department, just because ground beef sells for 1.99 a pound?
  8. chevy.com build your own
  9. yeah. i can get my gp fix driving my FIL's 08 GP. and after 5 minutes, i want out.
  10. the inevitable..is gm declaring bankruptcy and is pontiac going away?
  11. what size wheel and what tire? are they high performance? I was wondering in the event i buy a cobalt with wheelcovers and want to put my own wheels and tires on it. the only cobalt I drove recently was with the cheap stock tires on it and really was interested in seeing how the simple tire and wheel change would sharpen up the handling.
  12. LOL I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!! shed saturn pontiac and saab, dumb down chevy, only one or two cadillac models that are current. GM has no intention of maintaining a youthful customer base.
  13. wow, i did not know it was arriving so soon. sexy? wagon? yeah, when i saw it and touched it it was.
  14. my fave styling features of the LS were always the shape of the headlights and grille and the detailing there, the front fender bulges, the rear ones too, and the crease / line at the bottom of the door and rear bumper that almost gives the impression of a subtle ground effects look. it really 'grounds' the body to the road. i saw an LS with sport package a couple days ago and i remember now that it was just enough different to seem a little more aggressive with bigger wheels and blacked out front end trim on the grille and such. i think the one i saw was like a dark cherry or something. the front fender and hood shaping on this vehicle really give a lot of classic rwd look to this vehicle. kinda even a little bmw esque with the small overhang in the front also. the MKs isn't even really as nice as this. i've always thought the huge chrome surround on the rear license plate was a bit much on this car though. this car really outclassed the catera and STS at the time. In 03 or whenever it was when the CTS came out though, it seemed like the CTS introduced a whole new look, not as much length. the CTS had the altima falling character line and stubbier proportions and was all the art and science. The LS still seemed classier even if it didn't look as techno as the CTS did.
  15. lets say for example if one needed tires on the car soon. an extra hundred and change to upgrade the wheels would actually be a very god investment. sometimes aftermarket wheels can devalue the vehicle as it gives the impression the vehicle may have been driven hard. i have heard this about tinted windows, wheels, aftermarket audio. its a stereotype, but i guess it depends who the future buyer is. it probably ultimately depends on how cheap the wheels end up being. more expensive and larger wheels later also mean much more expensive tires. at least with stock size you're keeping the tire price reasonable too.
  16. they won't distinguish your ride, but are an upgrade over wheelcovers. the question is how much tires would be? i have been shopping cobalt as my next car possibly. so i was looking at some of the more typical wheel websites for cobalt wheels. the tire rack doesn't really have much for the size i would get, 17". I think 17's on a typical cobalt would look nice. putting 18's like that are on SS may look a bit out of place without the body work. wheelmax had some good wheels for the cobalt. discount tire had some ok ones too. i am not in the know to know where the really nice wheel shops on the net are, i just know that tire rack and wheel max are budget friendly. my neighbor has a red 08 cobalt with the 16" alloys that are not exactly the same as this, but pretty close. the same ones that are on the 09. Its not a bad looking wheel but it doesn't draw stares. Do the HHR and cobalt use the same wheels? I can't recall the HHR having any decent wheels really that would look good on the cobalt anyways.
  17. i had forgotten how Lincoln had given the car a handbrake. very sweet.
  18. here is a comparison. g6 has higher rebates for me than the malibu. but (and i haven't tried this yet) when i configure the cars to be close to the same i wonder if the pontiac is priced higher to offset the difference. i mean, a g6 at 24 grand, how much is the malibu the same way? in the past it seemed to me pontiacs were always a bit higher. interesting tidbit. a dealer i know has a 'demonstrator' grand prix GXP for 21,000 (like 500 miles on it). i wonder how cheap i can really get that for. or maybe that price has all incentives built into it. and even then, i kind of don't want it anyways.
  19. actually, C&G is among the tamer internet sites in terms of negativity in posting, be it forums or comments. A lot of the comments posted even on autoblog and car and driver comments are quite nasty. or stupid. CNN's comment boards are among the nastiest (and most entertaining) on the net. one thing the internet has done, through our anonymity, is allowing millions of us to get our real thoughts off our chests and into the public forum. It turns out this nastiness is what lots of people are thinking all along, the internet just means more people have access to what we are thinking. it might not be the best thing, but mano, imagine our parents and grandparents and their opinions and no way to express them to validate them. at least even with internet debate, people's opinions are challenged by someone else, even if not in a civil manner it maybe keeps people in check more in terms of thinking they are right all the time. I know at least on topics politically, some things i have opened to rethinking because of so much discussion about them on the net. Its definitely a new communcation standard that IMO has changed our culture a bit. I just thought the article's stereotyping of the typical posters was kind of funny. LOL.
  20. "c'mon guys can't we all just get along" LOL

  22. x2. especially the 9995 version. the one thing about the nissan cube. its ugly in photos. but, its way more ugly in person. i saw one driving around the other day and i was quite horrified by the experience, actually........even as i was driving my comparatively stylish aztek.
  23. VW to Chrysler "we'd like to get out of our contract to build so many vans with you. We cannot seem to sell them! How can we get out of this?" Chrysler to VW "well, let's see. Give us the rights to the Routan front beak and ass end, dashboard top and suspension tuning and we'll call it good"
  24. since the cube isn't even a car, i might suggest the all new subaru legacy (or forester, its just as bad)
  25. gosh, all of us do. at this point though, i almost would rather buy it from roger penske at this point than barack obama and ron pullmyfinger. i suppose i could always smuggle one in from canada.....
