  1. ROCK STAR only one problem is the slippery slope of CAFE fines, it is essentially then a new tax, and i see them 'raising the tax rate' over time if people go outside it too often....the penalty could become huge over time....
  2. they subsidize the corn and the sugar here so everyone can eat as much sugar as they can handle. .lol
  3. well, i've milked the bad tranny for about a year, and now its making me think its gonna go on me soon. Seems like a little slippage, and the crispy odor after a hard days drive makes me think i've maxxed it out. probably gonna have to bend over and take in.....stride to the tune of 2500 soon.......... at this point i don't think merely replacing the solenoid will prolong it that much more. i really am sort of pissed now as i wanted to not have to deal with this. if i do the tranny then i might as well do brakes (the rears are starting to grind).....as well as a whole gamut of stuff i have not done yet. A/C, belts, hoses, fuel pump, filter, battery, new stereo and speakers....... lol, the odometer is right on about 115k now......
  4. there is an older couple that we know that has the same car as we do...08 taurus x AWD. we always compare mpg and such. he swears he gets 10% or more better mpg on running seafom through the tank on his trips.
  5. very few cloth interiors are done nicely enough to warrant being in a cadillac badge. leather feels better on my tush. heated seats and cooled seats make up for wide temp swings and my car has a/c. heated seats ought to be standard on all caddies. when your kids vomits, spills milk, or urinates and it gets on your seats, it wipes right up off of leather. get some vomit or urine or some rotten milk curdling away in your cloth and seat foam and you'll be wishing you got the leather or leatherette. enzyme cleaner can only get out so much. i don't mind a cloth / leather combo. caddy should never stock cars with cloth interior but i would suggest that maybe it could be a special order factory option. if you wear gloves, would you rather wear canvas gloves or leather gloves?
  6. not only do i have the high school diploma, but i was a star in the HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL.
  7. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coupes/1004_2011_mustang_v6_vs_2010_genesis_coupe_3_8_vs_2010_camaro_rs_vs_2010_challenger_se/index.html mods please move this topic if need be..... i find it hard to believe anyone would want a Scoupe coupe XL over the Camaro or Mustang, but to each their own.
  8. I'da just skipped the wait and bought a Tucson. And took the money I saved to go on a nice Vegas vacation. Really, part of this is merely exposing a typical GM problem. New vehicle launches.
  9. we need to get those freaking venza pics off there. its bad enough that its for sale. why its on a GM site all the time is offensive.
  10. nice. but they are sure are taking their sweet time getting the Regal and compact here.
  11. i really hope toyota just goes away.
  12. 41,600. LMAO!
  13. yeah but that Smart will ping pong off a nice semi tractor and trailer...... amazing how poor at fuel mileage the smart car is. its small, not a good car for general use, it's a toy. And yet you can't get much above 35 mpg in the real world with one. this is the road our leaders want us on. in smart cars.
  14. steel is the key. steel is cheap manufacture, but people also need to remember that many cars need to be repaired often, and crash costs with aluminum might push your insurance rates through the roof.
  15. the lacrosse i drove was fwd without sunroof and all that. i am guessing it was around 3800, just like my old 500 which also felt very solid on the road but wasnt as agile. i will not comment on whether the sonata actually feels substantial or not as i havent driven it yet. a lot of folks like the AWD option and will gladly put up with a couple hundred pounds in return for more traction. i havent seen the CTS curb weight consistently posted that low.
  16. 3200 is fine but too many cars down in that 2300-2500 pound range. Cars like that are too light for crosswinds, winter driving, and overall solidity. Part of the reason lots of folks bought huge SUV's was because they like that built like a tank feel. Especially in inclement weather, blizzard driving, etc. that 89 lesabre didnt push an extra 400 pounds of tech, wiring and airbags and other things that have been added since too. to use your lacrosse example. the lacrosse is a just about right feeling car on the road. it doesn't feel light and insubstantial like many of the cheap midsizers, and it doesn't feel like a porky luxo barge. it feels like its got substance, and is somewhat agile at the same time. to me, its got the weight, size, and agility factor down pretty well.
  17. great. how does the consumer win, especially when gas prices go up 40% or whatever CAFE does. Cuz that's what will happen.
  18. if you're gonna resurrect threads, you should at least bring up the old joshiepoo and wpbharry threads for maxx effect.
  19. hertz by my house had 3 rather new looking corollas in the lot yesterday.
  20. For me I would prefer either the 5 or 3 door hatch, or wagon, to the sedan anyways.
  21. i th0ught the venzas interior was seriously creepy and cheap
  22. One GM vehicle line that would benefit greatly from hybrid is the lambdas. The Vue system could almost be a direct lift, and the development has been paid, a lot of it. The transaction prices of the lambdas are high enough to support the complex hybrids, and the large SUV would benefit users greatly with real big time mpg improvements. For example, imagine the impact of a GMC Acadia that routinely got 25+ mpg in town. I think a Cruze 1.4 turbo BAS+ system could pay off. Such a system has been rumored, and in addition to Cruze eco option could push combined mpg close to 40. That would be nuts and would be a lot less pricey than a full complex hybrid. i think the Malibu and Equinox should have in the pipeline a twomode four popper version. one that could match the Fusion in drivability and mpg. Converj would be nice, but not if it compromises the product. XTS dual mode sounds possible as well.
  23. The Volt is due soon and will be the top dog in GM's hybrid arsenal. Prior BAS hybrids didn't make positive market vibes, although BAS potential is good if they do it right. Vue two mode was dead. will it come back? The pickup hybrids haven't sold as well as they wanted. No Converj. Big deal? Which of GM's models would be best suited for hybrids from marketability standpoint? Even the Prius needs cheap leases to move the metal now with Toyota. Other Toyota hybrids and the Insight and such have not been taking the market by storm. GM hybrids, what's next?
  24. I thought it would be verano so Susan could do a marketing tie in with starbucks
  25. What I am saying is the customer is fine with it just like they were fine with Lexus camry hatchbacks
