OMG i've seen folks murder paradise by the dashboard lights.
  2. Denali is cheesy. =Brougham
  3. better than i would have expected, and slightly unfinished. but certainly nice. the front end needs to be toned up and butched. A little too soft. Front end needs to be bolder, like a SUZUKI EQUATOR. The top of the bed looks a tish low proportionately. Really not bad. By the time it arrives it may be dated though. Nice job, if it holds up and makes it to market. Really diggin the interior theme too. Looks both Asian and Chevy at the same time.
  4. what is it called when the sovereign mind is inebriated? lol
  5. Time for polygamous tribes!
  6. checked out the new dodge chysler vans again at the show yesterday. they really did a good job updating that dash and interior. the changes are such that it feels much different than the old ones. really dodge should be given props on taking a lemon interior and making lemonade out of it.
  7. just 4 u, blu!
  8. and here I thought OOD would pick up a police Caprice........
  9. lol! my only big question is visibility. i sat in the CTS and CTSv coupes at th autoshow this week and honestly you can't see out of the fking thing. how bad is the visibility in real world driving?
  10. ok, so then this is not a daily occurence? It is car induced? Therapy is in order....... I suppose 556 hp is indeed 'jizz worthy'...if you analyze it...... carry on
  11. one other person i miss sometimes, an ex gf who i came to know slowly....then she dumped me (on my BD no less)......one of the last memories i recall of her was visiting her at her apartment. she had told me she didn't want a r'ship but two months later her new BF's motorcycle was taken apart inside the living room of her apartment. i remembered that today when i was showcasing the underbelly of a Kizashi to some autoshowgoers. Someone I miss, sometimes. The person I miss a lot for the last couple three years I am not sure why I can't erase them from my memory bank. Especially considering how perfectly happy I am with who I am for so long now. Why such mental torture to screw with my brain? It's not fair. It can ache sometimes, it shouldn't i am not asking for it, i don't know why. But still I miss and care about the person who probably still hates me now. Ugh. to mess with you, no doubt!
  12. i can understand. totally.
  13. the interior transformation of the Chrysler vans is amazing.
  14. do you ever get where you can't stop missing someone you know / knew.....miss them greatly....but they are not the one who you are with, or not the one you are supposed to be with? sometimes you just can't shake someone. even if you already have it good / better / the best. anyone else got one of those? can't exorcise them from your mind / gut no matter how hard you try?
  15. Remember, this is a world car...outside the US, it will no doubt have a manual, as buyers in other markets know how to drive manuals. Would probably be cost prohibitive to have two different parking brake configurations. i doubt the current malibu is sold much outside the US. even so, the handbrake in the photo looks like a gerry rigged unit made for the test mule. i lacks integration for clean design. No way chevy puts out the vehicle with a handbrake so badly integrated. the cruze, the handbrake is done nicely.
  16. no i agree with you on that i was thinking more within Japan's boundaries that Toyota would possibly have a penchant to want it eat Subaru to save itself. what subaru is doing in the US is impressive. But once everyone adopts AWD universally what will the unique selling proposition of Subaru be anymore? They will need to evolve. VW is the only Euro automaker that will have the ability to be one of the world's top 5 or 7 auto brands based on market share and units. For the european carmakers to remain relevant on a world scale, VW almost has to sacrifice itself to do this. I know Fiat is in a position to do this as well and of course Renault, but they are already networked with Nissan in order to do that.
  17. at the auto show this past weekend i was sitting in a new SRX and a couple of well off 40+ers were commenting how much nicer the new one is and then something about how crappy the old one was and how bad it drove. interesting considering the SRX won a lot of handling comparos but clearly what you can take from this observation is that the XTS is to sedans like the SRX is to crossovers. it makes no pretense about being a canyon carver. It also will not sell for huge dollars (except for the uber equipped) and especially its not mercedes money. lastly, it really is a vehicle more about creature comforts and interior niceness. So if caddy can sell this car to boneheads like were sitting in the front with their logoed dress shirts on......caddy will be fine.
  18. Part of the problem is VW is a middle brand in Europe like Opel, they have Seat and Skoda for the low end..they don't have that positioning in the US. Then they have the arrangement w/ Suzuki that seems to be going nowhere... not sure why they would have done that. How else would you expect stubborn Germans and self righteous Japanese to play? Japan needs to purge about 5 brands. I would like to see Toyota gone, and I wouldn't miss Mazda. Subaru is borderline. Nissan seems the most successful in the world arena moving forward. Honda is Honda, but they need to evolve. I all know everyone thinks Mits and Suz should be gone anyways. Suzuki sells most of its metal in India though. 2 million cars a year is nothing to sneeze at.
  19. Well, if it were offered to retail, it would give GM a compact CUV..something to compete w/ the Patriot, Escape, CR-V, Rav-4, Tucson, Sportage, etc.. i'd take one over all on that list except tucson / sportage and even then the captiva is a higher quality piece.
  20. agree. i prefer the vue too. equinox has a bit more space in the Nox........maybe there will be a nice used Captiva someday in my future.... The moment I saw this article I thought. . . Reg would likely pick up a used one of these. like the vue. ex fleet with say 10-15k miles on it? would be a nice getabout. the equinox' only real functional advantage is rear seat space. the cargo hold on the equinox is not efficient. the vue has a little better visibility. with the new 6 speed it would be nice. i hope they tweaked the console a bit. Keep in mind folks, why didn't they fleet the Orlando? Shows ya something when they will even fleet a mega year old vue before an orlando.
  21. agree. i prefer the vue too. equinox has a bit more space in the Nox........maybe there will be a nice used Captiva someday in my future....
  22. this car won't have a stick, and its not for sport per se.....no reason for a handbrake. E brake would make the most sense on this car.
  23. VW's problem was unique. projections were that only 5-10 carmakers would survive globally as superpowers. they knew that one or two of the US makers would stay on that list. They knew the Japanese with a long term quality history would likely be represented with Nissan and Toyota at a minimum. They knew Hyundai would be on there, and there will be Chinese to fear. In it's own country, VW can't compete on luxury or even quality within its own borders, while overbuilding in the sense that they cannot grab for higher prices on the world scale. If VW was to survive, it has to be as a volume automaker globally. Which means they by neccessity had to downgrade their product to keep their profits. If they kept building the higher price stuff, there is still no belief they could match the Japanese on reliability, so eventually they would lose to Japan on both price and quality. So essentially VW by default has to dumb itself down some and become a commodity. VW has to be big to remain relevant globally, because they do not have the ability to survive as a smaller volume maker.
  24. judging by the number one question / interest i have been getting at the auto show.....ALL wheel drive is at the top of customer lists. NO ONE has asked for rear drive. I doubt most folks know which end is driving the car half the time. I think as long as caddy makes this car AWD no one is gonna give a behind about this as a DTS replacement. The next CTS will carry the rwd torch for caddy along with the ATS. In time I am guessing a true S class competitor will come out. Exactly as Drew said...the iNfiniti Q's, M's, GS lexus, not exactly lighting up the world on the sales charts. There is a lot of really old folks out there that want something to replace their DTS with.
