  1. this replaces the DTS and brings it forward about 15 years. it's caddy's lexus ES350 or whatever. it will sell. which, is what the bizness is about. sell.
  2. sweet car, but they is big! At least though, that option is still on the market. 8 speed auto?
  3. You mean the Equinox? It is a modified Epsilon. the current equinox the way i understand it is a modified earlier equinox, i never believed that to be an epsilon car. the srx was called a theta epsilon but that is advanced over the vues and equinoxes etc. in toyota land, a venza is a camry crossover....... just very much not believing there is a lot shared between the epsilon and any crossovers. the lambda is too big and the epsilon is larger than the equinox, isn't it? as an example, a jacked up buick lacrosse would be a really nice size crossover that would trim weight over the lambdas. and still be quite large. equinox is not quite as spacious as an edge, an epsilon sized rig would be.
  4. why have we not been given an epsilon chassis crossover?
  5. when i test drove the Eco, i remember it having some pull in 6th yet, fairly flat road, not much wind. Still, for 6th gear to have SOME grunt left was nice, and you have 5 other gears if need be.
  6. http://www.autoblog.com/2011/10/17/nhtsa-investigating-mini-cooper-s-over-engine-fires/ always knew the Mini was a 'hot car' and that it was so popular, it was 'on fire' in the market.
  7. performance with A/C on full blast....not just highway cruising, but hard stoplight to stoplight in town traffic. i have read some say the car is crippled in those type of situations.
  8. regal or bu might benefit some from a coupe. regal more. but cruze needs a coupe before either. GM should only have a handful of coupes. ATS and CTS for caddy. Regal for buick. Cruze for chevy, Camaro of course.
  9. about the most impressed i have been with a GM in recent memory, overall a great offering for a real substantial and desirable car.
  10. x2. cash for clunkers drove up prices on stuff. nowadays no one wants to trade in what they got and people don't want to or can't afford new.
  11. No way..the long hood is part of its character ..not a fwd econobox But a whole lot of the character is lost with this restyle, IMHO. it's majorly f@#ked up now in looks. and the hofmeister kink is dated and tired. the sculpting looks arbitrary and the nose looks dumb. i would guess in 5 years the 3 series may not even have a 6 cylinder option so i hope they are designing the next platform with the goal to keep the good handling without so much space wasted under the hood.
  12. i do like the 4 cylinder thing on this. hopefully in the next full gen of this car, that allows them to shorten the hood so it isn't so ungodly long and inefficient.
  13. What many here fail to understand or even notice is Holden and Chevy are becoming more and more to be one. The new SWB RWD sedan is coming here, it may be limited but at the price it will be they will send enough. The fact is I count myself as a RWD V8 fan but I also understand that I am also out of step with most in the auto market. There is a place for me but I am no longer the primary customer. The fact is if you look at all the best selling cars today almost all are FWD and 4 cylinder. I too just got to spend some seat time in a 11 Cruze Eco tonight. I must say I was impressed. The car I drove has been averaging 354 MPG around town and did not drive anywhere near what I had expected. It was quiet, road well, stopped well, the power while not up to my LNF was more than able to drive this car with enough power to make most drivers more than happy. Chevy did a good job and I now fully understand why it has been one of the best selling cars in America. The 1.4 Turbo while not a race car was far from felling as a underpowered slug. To be honest this car had as much get up and go as some of the so called performance cars of the 80's and 90's. I know it rode, handled and stopped better. the cruze eco is an amazing car. it's a tight piece, something you would never expect from chevy. it is pleasing to the driver, it's good on gas, it's fun, and it doesn't break the bank. honestly if the cruze eco doesn't make C/D ten best, then something is f-ed.........the cruze eco is a far better car than that piece of sht jetta that is out now. VW and their junk, the GM stuff is better. i haven't driven the focus yet, but it lacks a 6th gear and the interior is claustrophobia. plus the exterior is too egglike and plain. of all the cars in the last 10 years I am most proud of for GM, i would put the Regal and Cruze Eco right there. two cars that should be where GM is going.
  14. YAWNNNNNNNN interior updates are alright, but otherwise, meh....
  15. Sure looks that way. What a revolting future. RE 'volt' ing.......
  16. greenies and libbers too, and poor folks...... this is the perfect rolling bumper sticker mounting pod....... a satirical comment by the way.......... for those in the -1 crowd out there.........
  17. greenies and libbers too, and poor folks...... this is the perfect rolling bumper sticker mounting pod.......
  18. impressive......kudos to GM.
  19. good to hear from ya!
  20. sort of a why sort of thing if you ask me.
  21. top speed on the Eco is like 124mph per car and driver this new issue. perhaps you should double verify their number
  22. GM needs to stop making excuses though and start tackling the weight problem. I can guarantee you that the Sonic is not 400 lbs heavier because it is carrying 400 lbs of sound deadening! Probably heavier steel in the platform and suspension compontents to absorb the shock of Michigan's 3rd world road conditions? That and they also may have gone to more light weight steel but I am sure they are still using enough regular steel to keep the cost down to still build them in Michigan. I do agree that the GM cars often may have more weight but they also last a lot longer on the poor winter beaten roads here in the north. We have few old Honda's here but we have a lot of old Heavy Chevys. Sorry I had to use that as I just saw a nice red 71 yesterday. I bet any Fit on the road today here in Ohio will be long gone and used up in 8 years. or the salt eats them away http://www.insideline.com/honda/fit/2007/honda-recalls-2007-08-fit.html
  23. !!!!!!!!!!!!this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!thisx2
  24. it's almost never that a shopper comes in talking curb weights. while it matters in a small car how porky it is, the engine makes up for it. the mpg is an issue sure, but let's find out real world mpg too. the LS and LT aveos are decently priced. I don't see any issues there. The Fiestas I have seen are more overpriced.
