  1. wow. that interior sucks.
  2. http://wot.motortrend.com/toyota-gt-86-ft-86-first-official-photos-revealed-in-advance-of-tokyo-debut-139367.html the half assed interior blows away any interest i would ever purport to care about this car. i get keeping it simple and light. but this is kit car at best.
  3. cruze is the best way for GM to reintro diesel in the US. It's a direct hit on VW, which is the next evil juggernaut to kick down. I do feel an ATS or CTS as a Caddy is a suitable move for an uplevel diesel. Perhaps one more car in the GM stable could see diesel, but I would not invest much more than that. Perhaps the Regal? Or a Malibu. Anything beyond that is excess but at the same time there are so many that drink the German kool aid that if GM wants to appeal to fans of that ilk with credibility they pretty much will need a diesel or 3. Mazda6 still coming with diesel? I think that may be a sleeper diesel hit. Even though VW keeps the torch for diesel I am willing to bet there are more than a few people that would not mind a diesel but really can't stomach the thought of having a VW.
  4. 2.5 is a turd of the highest order. the single best thing VW could bring to market to make their common cars relevant in their sales push is to have a competent four cylinder to sell in volume that can run with all the other good four cylinders out there.
  5. everytime i have driven any forester, i have been very turned off. that's not to say it doesn't do some things well or that it isn't the right vehicle for a lot of folks. but the one comment about the outback being much nicer is gravy in the boat. i have always thought the impreza was a bit of a turd too, but i am very much looking forward to trying out one of the new Imprezas. i it sounds like they fixed a lot on the car. except power but they downsized the motor for mpg so i think that is a fair trade off.
  6. time to flood the market and tank resale!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! j/k. good news. if this means taking some hoyotha and hondaa market share I am all for it. now just get some cheap leases to go with! building any Terrains too?
  7. changing to RWD killed STS sales. Caddy will have ATS and CTS with RWD and a new future flagship with RWD bias, I struggle to see why an AWD XTS to replace the popular DTS style car is a bad thing. Especially when BMW, Jag and others are going FWD too.
  8. is this the Mazda6 refresh?
  9. It's really sort of a lose lose either way. If they leave it untouched, it tanks even more. They can re-do the heck out of it, and it's still not a clean sheet. Here is the deal, it's a sweet car for most of the non enthusiast population. Sure, the CTS is dynamically a better car, and sharper looking. But the MKs is larger and more comfy, can be twin turboed, all wheel drive on either car is all most drivers need if they don't want front drive. I am not terribly jiggy on the new front end but the interior makes great sense to me. I am glad Lincoln is saving money for the all new model. Most citizens of this country would be happy clams to drive a posh car like this, the Weir leather itself is like melting into chocolate. It just needs to be priced right. My father in law tells me this morning that my brother in law had to bring in his truck in for fixing again, and the dealer gave em a demo MKS to drive and now they are looking at possibly leasing one. They've had it with Buicks (the old Buicks).
  10. i wonder if ford's botches with this have anything to play in this...... the pentastar + 6 speeds work well......and maybe they would be better off developing an 8 speed for fwd use..... only dual clutch trannys i have driven are the VW's and I really disliked em.....
  11. omg that is so sweet.....
  12. people soiled their panties all aghast when the last SRX became the Cadillac Vue, but look at the sales charts. take last months STS+DTS numbers and then go 4x on it and I am gonna guess that is where XTS goes once up and running. CTS and LaCrosse may take a little bump in the shorts but hey that is how GM balances out production and new car programs. it should even out the resources and sales over time. ATS will also steal a few CTS sales, but really the XTS being the ES Cadillac and the ATS becoming the 3 series cadillac just means to me that the next CTS will become a bit of a de facto flagship in the next gen. These days, a flagship doesn't NEED to be the largest. And even then, if Cadillac does carry through with a true S class competitor, it will have to be that much better than the next gen CTS.
  13. I think overall the SRX excels over the CTS interior in a lot of ways. Not huge differences, but overall it's better. First off, the seats are better in the SRX, better shape, better cushioning, more room and space. The design of the SRX interior is better, more interesting, has better materials, better execution, more detail and drama. I think Cadillac still has some work making their interiors appear less cobbled together, but they definitely keep improving. Cadillac is still learning how to do interiors, it should be interesting to see the XTS interior in person.
  14. super jealous! enjoy the car!
  15. yuppers! that does look like a Honda Aztek! Wow that rear is done badly. Crosstour, Accord, CRz, CRv, Insight, wow Honda has problems with rear end design.....
  16. I've seen the HS, actually I don't think it's done all that badly design wise, most definitely considering its a hybrid. It's got an identity problem though. Prius is a name, it's a brand. What's an HS? An ES hybrid yes, makes more sense. New Prius V or whatever, saw one on the road, it's gonna rake in more cash for Toyota. A larger hybrid, just as nerdy, a perfect move up vehicle. "Hey, I'm still a greendork, just a bigger one now!" MKZ hybrid sells so much because its a no cost option. Lincoln was genius to bury the cost in a Lincoln Fusion. Helps pay for it. Ford will stupidly kill the Escape hybrid when the new body comes out. Mistake on both counts. I think it will take a couple years for sales to come back on the Escape when they switch from box to egg. Eventually people will accept it and move on, but Ford will have to make up a whole lot of sales with the Edge to offset that loss. Perhaps Ford sees an overall hybrid demand drop. Maybe the next Escape will be all electric. Current hybrid owners can get a Focus electric to keep on the cutting edge. Ford will still sell a ton of Fusion / MKZ hybrids. And yet they are not nerdwagons. I think an ES hybrid would be about the only hybrid Lexus really needs but selling Lexus with hybrids means they can make money off hybrids to help continue to develop their system. Overall I think until hybrids become a minor price diff, and integrate into more existing models, they will still be seen as dorkwagons and most of society doesn't want to anymore be caught looking like one of those ladies yelling at the truck owner. Psychotics and overzealous folks. I think people wouldn't mind a hybrid if its got a normal wrapper and won't cost much. I think the era has passed where people are striving to pretend they are ecoconscious.....they realize it doesn't make them superior. Hybrids still freak out some folks with battery fears and those who don't want to deal with the winter issues. eAssist is sensible as a path. For Buick to have that is pretty good.
  17. and just think how somewhat cautious you were about stepping up from the Fiesta into a Cruzer........
  18. Traverse is needed as it drives nicer than BOF. Traverse could stand lots of improvements at this point.
  19. CTS interior is not top drawer, just merely pretty ok. SRX interior is nicer. Yet Caddy still can't demonstrate any ability to make an Audi like interior.....with really superfine tight panel fits, SMALL seams and gaps, and insane attention to detail.
  20. another sales winner for caddy. looks nice! i am still more skeptical about the inside but seriously people a lot of caddy buyers are waiting for this car......
  21. Nice Regal GS wheels on the LaCrosse. Seat patterns are cool. But the LaCrosse needs big interior upgrades in dash and door materials, and other areas like gauges and controls. Maybe even an interior redesign completely.
  22. pretty good concept. i do tend to agree the side windows are not very Chevy. However, most of the bodywork is pretty good. The interior looks a bit bland, unfinished, not all very typical chevy controls for here, and lacks any pop that say for example, the Equinox has inside. The construction of the Trailblazer is so etched in people's minds that I think this maybe is a little too Miller Select in terms of downsizing the beef. Which may be why this is not slated for the US.
  23. best of, good sir! Happy Birthday!!!
  24. i despise the ventiports on the new Regal, why they put them on, and take of the side turn signal repeaters, is beyond me. if they put ventiports on this thing, they all should be fired.
