  13. was setting up today..... caught some nice pics of the new GM stuff. more in a bit...... impressions ATS is sharp, looks more egglike in person but extremely dynamic. New XTS is large! Boatlike, between the two new Cadillacs, a very definite shift in design......more egglike, less chiseled, quite futuristic. In ten years one will be able to see how these cars ushered in new design directions Encore - extremely impressed. For the small size it looks robust and substantial. Should be a huge hit with women. New Fusion and Escape - i gotta say, the new Escape could possibly be a miss. I did not like it from the first look. I think folks like the tough boxy look! New fusion, I like the size and packaging. The styling is just a miss so far for me..... Saw lots of Chrysler 300's, I am really impressed. Lots of Fiats......I have to admit, very likable. I'll try to upload some stuff......
  14. shame they didn't add leg room to the car......... turbo should be powerful enough, just too bad the numbers weren't a little better for the spec sheet shoppers.
  15. like many posters have mentioned before.....Mercedes and BMW sell as econocars, taxis, etc. in their native and other countries. They have managed to sell as a luxury only brand in the US for so long. The auto industry is having survival of the brands right now, so volume is an important tool in phasing out other makers (VW knows this!). The Germans are playing a bit of Roulette with their earned images, but Americans are so brand programmed that marketing can make up for lack of quality in the product. What really counts to some punk is they can get a Mercedes, anything with a Mercedes badge.
  16. nice Jeep compass fender flares on the Cross Coupe. Not a huge fan of the cross coupe.
  17. now that the volt has rolled out nationally also, maybe its time to peel back the most marketing efforts for the places where it will have the most impact. California, east coast, places like that.
  18. If i were GM, I would skip right to the gen2 Volt. Cut the weight to 3000 pounds. Make the generator a 1.0 litre 3. Bring in instances of lighter weight materials, if even for test bed for production. And hopefully some more battery tech and a cheaper price. Ford may just leapfrog everything with the plug in Fusion and Focus..... GM's hybrid approach here though is worth refining.
  19. rather poignant that when you present the save the earth global warming ecoweenie bunch the best option to in fact save the earth, and lessen our dependence on oil, they become hypocrites and do not follow through on what they preach.
  20. a couple of things stood out here to me Yes, I cannot imagine why we do this. you mean those little know it all hipster pricks that think they have the answer for everything and are entitled to everything? ----smack-----
