  1. i think the Fusion hybrid looks about the same and is half the price.
  2. i hate the name actually . wtf is VELOSTER
  3. v6/8sp
  4. improved but not feeling it. trying to be Japanese bland and Euro chic at the same time while being neither. Probably will sell ok though.
  5. it is an interesting vehicle but I'd rather they do the 4 door coupe on each side. at least it has power now. the interior is really neat. Give em credit for making a sporty affordable ride. Still has some of that Hyundai cheapness going on though. I've read that the base car isn't a whole lot of fun. I can see my sister getting a Veloster when she trades in her 03 Elantra GT someday.
  6. ASTRA!!!!! congrats with the future endeavors?
  7. i have a beef with the D pillar? on the new escape. Pretty insubstantial...... I'd like to see more muscle on the sheetmetal at the end of the car. I'd sort of like less of a taper on the roof towards the rear also.....
  8. wishing you the best, Mr. Blu. I'll keep you in my thoughts. I can't help but think that your next employer will be damn lucky to get you. there are still just waves of this crap going on. Everything seems to just spiral down these days.....
  9. We all know how the likes of Volvo ditched wagons and their crossovers are what sells. Look at BMW and Audi? VW would be better off making the Tuaoreg and Tiguan more affordable and AMURCHAN, just like they did with the Jetta and Passat here....... Tiguan would rule the market here with a trunk stretch, better road dynamics, and a far better price. Tuorged should concentrate on being less of a technological tour deforce, and more recognize how its about the perfect Ford Edge competitor size wise. If it lost 1000 pounds and gained a low price and decent mpg it would rule the roost. I think even Subaru will ditch the outback over time and morph into more of the crossover.....
  10. there are a lot more full sizers than people think. cars are pretty large, and for people stepping down from huge SUV's there will always be a need. Even cars like the Mazda6 are huge. A 4 cyl midsizer is gonna get the same mpg whether it has 4 more inches of wheelbase and rear legroom....... the case can be argued that with a small / efficient engine bay and a long wheelbase, the large cars and large midsizers are actually economy cars.
  11. Ford typically will flood the inventory with really high priced stuff at launch. And then over time, the builds become more realistic.
  12. the car will get a turbo six. but yet, the 3.6 is good enough. Lexus ES but larger = XTS. Deville = XTS. Let the ATS do the heavy lifting for Cadillac in the press, let the XTS infuse the cash again, like the SRX did. The last rear drive STS did nothing for Caddy, Deville use to be the sales leader. let's see where the emphasis on posh goes. Between the CTS and ATS, let that get all the reviews. I've sent XTS photos to my dad (DTS driver). Although he won't be buying any new Caddy's soon, he had nothing bad or unusual to say about the XTS.
  13. this reeks of fail to me.....it's a wagon then and not a crossover....
  14. MSRP..... yes.......
  15. touched and sat in the 013 Escape today! got a couple pics will post later. Very nice looking in person. Good packaging. Engine compartment is efficient. Front seats are roomy. Rear a tad tight maybe. Overall, vehicle is larger in flesh than pics indicate. Also looks more dynamic in the flesh than pics. Interior design is Focus 3.0....similar layout, but more flashy. I thought interior plastics could be a bit nicer though. Leather and seats were stylish. Trunk decent size. Seems a little smaller inside overall than the CX5 but that is not a scientific judgment. Didn't drive it, but the exit the little SUV seemed to haul some arse....... 38 grand! the big moonroof is amazing.
  16. losing the T/C or the GC is a bad idea.
  17. you didn't think the 3.6+ 6 speed did anything for the car?
  18. who ever said rentals were bad..... you rented a Taurus and now you probably would consider buying one maybe in the future. if the car is good, being a rental is not bad. i even bought 2 diamantes after having one for a rental on vacation many years ago.
  19. showed a lexus hybrid we had today and same comments, anyone looking at one of the hybrids new is wowed by the tech and such and will pay the price for it new, but 2nd gen and later used, people are scared of the cost of the batteries and electrics and whether those systems still work right years down the road. i think the model that takes the biggest rap is the civic hybrid. that was such a bust.....most of honda's hybrids are. there is an imbalance. the price of hybrids are too high to start and now the market is too soft on them when you trade em. it's tough to justify the first gen cost unless you simply lease. and then the second gen costs are unknown, how much do you get stuck with to fix? do you want to be a guinea pig? the prius is an exception almost. They are fairly reliable, the first cost is cheap, and the value holds on Prius pretty well. From the little bit I have seen, if you have any other hybrid besides a Prius....be prepared to lose your ass. Even though the fuel is cheaper. BTW the volt is the right idea. what chevy needs is to rush volt2 to market. 3 cylinder gas 1.0 litre. cut weight of entire vehicle to 3000 pounds or less. improve the electric side of it. get the price under 30. same size car. extend the range. they can do it!
  20. Lexus should have an ES hyrbid with a 4 cyl. I really don't think anyone wants a GS Lexus hybrid in any form.
