Cadillac News: Spying: Cadillac CTS In Europe
regfootball replied to William Maley's topic in Cadillac
me, on the camaro, i'd want the v6 6 speed, bluetooth and XM. either red, white, yellow or black. Alum wheels. Moonroof so the interior did not feel like a tomb. I think the Alpha Camaro is a long ways off. The current design is too good and too desirable for them not to milk it for 10 years. I would like to see an all new dash soon.- 43 replies

Interactive Review: 2012 Volkswagen Passat 2.5 SE
regfootball replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
the rear quarters of the new passat are quite thin and flexy were my recollection from playing with them at the auto show. people wonder why GM and Fords are so heavy, they at least keep sheet metal on most of their models that won't flex and dent super easy, thicker and heavier.- 14 replies

Interactive Review: 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander GT S-AWC
regfootball replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
the AWC outlander v6 has gotten good reviews, the bigger question is why in what is essentially a family rig. considering the age of 35k terrains, any vehicle with v6 and AWD available in the mid- high twenties is a good value. There is now 38k turbo four escapes for 2013 too, so now what is a good value? it's sort of pointless for any scrutinization of this thing with the new revised body out soon.- 6 replies

GM Skipping Texas State Fair, Hiding New Trucks From Rivals
regfootball replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in General Motors
i would hope for a redesign but we know its a refresh outside. At a minimum, if we get a new interior that does not look like $h!, and the new DI engines that solve the mpg problem, then that is all we can hope for. -
Interactive Review: 2012 Volkswagen Passat 2.5 SE
regfootball replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
i sold an 11 sonata to a customer the other day who had a rental car due to body shop work. his rental was a 2.5 2012 passat, and he didn't like it.....bought a sonata. The sonata is better than the 2.5 VW.... i've driven the 2.5 and TDI passats and neither stoked me. the 2.5 was slow and interior is not great. sheet metal is thin, car has room I give it that much. The new Passat is not going to make sense until they get a decent 4 cylinder mill in it. Otherwise, you overpay for the v6 or the diesel. Altimas, Sonatas, Fusions, Malibus, so many other choices.- 14 replies

i would love to have a motorcycle again. had one in high school and then dad said i could keep the bike or sell it and get a car for college. now I have a hard time rationalizing a motorcycle when i have kids i need to be around for. One thing is for sure, if I had a motorcycle, i would wear a helmet and gear. I almost would get one of these, mainly just because they are a little more visible to other drivers....

the new ford van looks amazing. I have already seen a bunch of the new Nissan vans in service already. Ford needs to protect their share and updating the van would be perfect. Ideally they should introduce the new van and sell them concurrently with the current one for a period of time to not shock the customer base. 9 and 13 passenger full sizers updated and for customization would be huge. AWD should be on the option sheet.

192 is 5 meters? they can't go over 5 meters. ATS has nice power bulge and lowered fenders, lots of details. The Camo shots on the CTS really at this time seem just a little plain in comparo to how nice the ATS was sculpted.- 43 replies

really does look bland to me. But admittedly not much detail. The new ATS front end has a real nice sculpting to it, this looks way to monoform / typical midsize sedan / generic- 43 replies

Mazda really seems to have no desire to go balls to the wall. Nissan does, even with barfy products at times.

one of my competitor's stores sells both brands and the complement each other well, you can flip people back and forth. your wish is my wish too. or a 2.0t.....

just about any corvette impresses me, even the base base for closer to 50g is a nice buy. a basic v6 mustang or camaro does as well. Like the Cayman and Boxsters as affordable sports cars. I really just like about any car that has a high value to quality quotient...things that the new Cruze and Focus have at lower prices. GTI is still great bang for buck. A new base base 3 series with stick is a good buy. I do think an ATS2.0t will be a good buy. Had my first ILX spotting yesterday, 33k, ouch. In comparo, a Verano at less price is impressive. Saw a new dark one today, looked great. The ILX i actually think looked really well done, just too much dough IMO.

Japanese are too stubborn that way. Suzuki makes nearly 3 million vehicles a year globally, they just don't see the US as a big market for their tiny cars. Mazda is less than a million and a half if I recall. They all seem to think they are big enough to survive with their own world niche markets. I initially disliked the new Outlander, but now that I have seen more pics over time, I like a lot about it. I already really dig the Outlander Sport. The OS needs to have its powertrains sorted out. Mazda doesn't really get it in a couple ways. The smiley face thing for one. And at least they finally got rid of the RX7. That would have been a nice car without the wankel. Miatas a nice car but its a niche market. Mazda doesn't leverage itself very well to translate into sales.

i really thought the Sportage would be selling more now, however maybe the Soul takes its sales on the low end and the Sorento on the high end.

love the Boxster and cayman.... the 911 is sort of bloated to me these days

many audi drivers are control freaks and yet also tend to be more mature and less poseur than BMW freaks. they like the 'just so' quality of the interiors. A6 don't sell because there's not much of a real substance over and beyond the A4. 10 years from now, I don't see the Germans having such a proliferation of models with low volume like they do now. They will be forced to consolidate like many other manufacturers.

I'd totally lease a volt if i was in better economic shape and my commute was like 20 miles or so.

Make no mistake, incentives / cheap leases are a major reason for the Escape and Fusion going out with a bang.

excellent review.

Big things in the works for Lincoln, hope it's not stillborn........major incentives on them last month. Maybe Lincoln needs to bring back model names?
