  1. that truck gives me a serious boner. just sayin! love reg cab 4x4's!
  2. the narrowness is much less an issue in the XTS than it is in say, the 08-12 Malibu. I will say this also, the overhangs do not appear all that large either. I have to say, I really like it, a lot, as a puff cruiser. I would LOVE to have an XTS and ATS in my garage. BTW, i see the ATS powertrain warranty is downgraded, 6/70. Only 70k warranty on the turbo. I wonder if the XTS is the same.
  3. The ILX i saw, the interior looked well done and overall it was decent looking. I don't think Honda has powertrains and option packaging properly sorted out yet. They have some stupid RLX model coming out?
  4. that sounds like an old school dealership to me. stuff like that would be handled privately where i reside, handled like any other business of today would handle it.
  5. wow, just caught this. good news, glad you were able to get back on board!
  6. Checked out a real live XTS at a d'ship today. It was locked and had a 21 day on it, I assume it was left on the lot over the weekend to show off. Here is my impression on the design in the real world. Very nice. There is some subtle complexities to the shape and details on this vehicle that come together in person. It is amazing how narrow the car is in actuality, and how tiny the ass end looks from seeing it directly behind. Overall there is really not any element of the exterior I dislike (aside from suggesting that the car looks narrow). It's an evolutionary look, nothing special, but it also has no hood and no deck and to evolve proportions in that regard, and still have the car look cohesive is amazing. It is the bridge car for Cadillac going forward into future forms. The inside looked amazing in terms of the integration of the design. Everything again has a 'this is the future' look to it....especially in the buttons and such on the center stack. I don't think this was the top end trim because the plastic looked to be ordinary through the window. Color scheme was nice. I just didn't get a visual impression that an S-class owner would be jealous. Ginormous rear leg room, but that rear bench is NOT very wide, nor is it contoured a whole lot. My lasting impression on site is that the XTS is merely Cadillac's version of the Lexus ES. Nothing more, nothing less. And there is a huge market for that. And that leaves the door wide open for the ATS and CTS to be distinct. Cadillac's SRX and XTS are direct hits on Lexus' 2 core products. Well done.
  7. ILX manual was tested at 6.9 seconds in some road test i read recently (C/D i think). The way the buff books are, the Verano turbo won't be much faster, i can see the buff books saying the ILX is better.
  8. i know which wheels you are talking about. we had an edge right next to it with those! the one i drove was exactly that dark blue, had a little bit nicer wheels, but they were still dwarfed in the body. black door handles on the edge are nasty to look at. back in late 08 in the heat of the economic meltdown when i was turning in my 500 lease i had gotten an edge price quote for a base model with those wheels and black door handles. the price literally was like 20,500.....but i could in no way bring myself to live with the cheap wheels and black handles.
  9. did Robert Stempel come back as a VW exec? beauty are you sure that is not an Omega SEX? YUM
  10. hard to believe only 155 for miles, but on the whole i like these x cars.....
  11. interior quality on the new ones is very excellent. all solid. this one did not have sync. the new seats are nicely shaped and hold you well. Everything is 4x more premium than the original edge. the basic packaging of the edge is spot on. it's too heavy and i am tired of it's looks actually. i still think when for puts a 2.3 ecoboost in the mustang, putting it in the taurus and edge and stuff is the way to go also.
  12. if it comes anything close to this sketch, bring it now
  13. I've found plenty of junkiness with the hondas and toyotas I try to work with lately. 09 corolla, wouldn't start today..... hondas with junk navs, blown trannies....
  14. 13 malibu is changed much more
  15. making them all loaded means that many become used and many sit on lots till rebates kick in. make some base models the turbo to bring in buyers. then people who don't want to, or can't spend 30 have the option also. base verano turbo would suit me nicely. with stick.
  16. front row is comfy, second row is flexible, buttloads of cargo space for a small crossover because the cargo floor is lower and deeper. it's no more bland than a CRV or RAV4. AWC system is nice. Vehicle needs more soundproofing and perceived quality issues. Most outlanders that sell are four bangers for low to mid twenties, the loaded v6 is not a typical representation. The vehicle is a manageable size for many who don't want something heavy and larger. I know two people who own one and both like it a lot.
  17. passat is wide and long, and light for its width and length. wonder if it sucks in winter.
  18. turdbuckets. refresh. honda sheeple will still buy anyways.
  19. evolved to generic crossover + generic hyundai look
  20. Got a chance to drive a base FWD 2.0 Ecoboost Edge. Let me just sum it quick. It keeps all the size, space, driving position plusses that makes the Edge popular. The new interior is light years more attractive, has way better quality, and is more functional. The new steering wheel has great layout with its buttons to control nearly everything on the vehicle. The Edge drives quieter and tighter now. Not any more sporty, but it does feel lots less junky than the first gen. Really this review is based on the engine......people say it's underpowered in the Explorer etc. Here is what i found........seems like a wee bit underpowered, but the power delivery is liquid smooth and the engine is smooth top to bottom. From a dead stop, the take off is a lot better than roll on. In fact, what is strange is that there is a little turbo lag (that doesn't really feel like turbo lag per 'se) and a delay in tranny aggressiveness....that it almost feels CVT like in some ways. Floor the gas in the roll on condition, and the rpm climbs to 4 or 5 thousand rpm and it seems like there is overall wait for the acceleration to kick in. There isn't really any engine drone....it's liquid smooth. And cabin noise is very quiet. It just has a power delivery like you may have sampled on a lot of small displacement Euro cars. The rpm goes up, no drama, the engine is smooth, there are just no bursts in power. Then, likewise, you are cruising 70-80 mph without noticing. And it's totally smooth. As a daily driver with a lot of stoplights and if you like acceleration, you'd want to stick with the v6. But I could see where for many folks this engine would be adequate in power and a delight in running characeteristics. If you never saw a turbo badge, you'd have NO idea it was a turbo underhood. The package of the Edge is winning. Size, space, driving position, interior ambience.......only the slight pokiness of the ecoboost knocks it off the A perch (and most folks won't care). B+. If the Ecoboost was a 2.3 and had another 30hp/tq I think it would be a solid A. 2.3 AWD ecoboost Edge with 300 pounds less would be perfect. Cool storage space in front of the front face of the console is clever (new Fusion will have also).
  21. is there a way to capture their facebook or google plus id and have them post using that? then at least we can identify the douches.
  22. when i drove one (and it's in my reviews in the review section), I liked it to a point but on the whole was not overly impressed or blown away by it. To me really the only reason you do buy this car is diesel (and maybe rear seat space). So mostly I am curious about mpg and gas cost per mile.
  23. GM is laying in the weeds with the truck hybrid to avoid criticism but by all i hear it is excellent. 20mpg in normal driving in a truck is quite good. Maybe the next powertrain will get the hybrid built into it.
