  1. Impala diesel! Agree with Drew on the VW. I will give Honda credit, their rear seat space hands chevy's Malibu its ass on a platter.
  2. where is GM with any new product in any of these commercial segments?
  3. my 013 test drive, i thought it was (like all Hondas) noisy inside and did not feel solid or substantial. Ride was nothing to write home about. turd looks. cheesy interior. aura of cheapness. good cvt, roomy inside. in my book, its mostly hype. Decent all around, but I would take the Mazda6, Fusion, Passat, Malibu, and maybe even the Koreans over this thing first. It's a dog hair in front of the similarly dopey Altima. Fusion has the best all around mid size lineup. New Passat 1.8 is a nice drive. M6 is tight on space but out Hondas Honda hands down. Close buddy had two leased Pilots and recently got a new leased CRV. That's pretty much the nail in the coffin for him. Hates the CRV, cheap noisy tinny. Pilots had poor mpg. Honda's lesions of fans should get out and look at other metal. They haven't evolved the species in years. Still better than the Cahmny.
  4. apparently Honda has even had ridiculous leases on these from time to time and they still can't spark ! any interest. Prius has their cult, pure EV's are useless, the Volt is the way to go and Honda has just never found a sweet hybrid spot.
  5. yes, there is some reshaping of the center stack and some new button and screen layouts. It should help.
  6. think it would be nice if the std engine got the six speed manual too. Should get good EPA with that combo but i bet it works extremely hard at higher speeds. Would love to see the 1.5 ecoboost mated to a conventional automatic, either 6 or 8 speeds in this car. the revised beak really fixes a major issue with this car. I think putting buttons with the Sync will help too. I wonder if they will be slated to fix the overbearing dashboard anytime soon. It's not that it's bad, it's just so claustrophobic, the whole interior. Lacks leg room compared to the new Corolla. Basic shape of the car should have a long shelf life so tweaks like this will keep it from withering away. Real world pricing on the Focus is real good. Good commuters, and better than average road manners.
  7. exactly
  8. i went to the mits dealer the other day. this was a dealer that was added back recently with new ownership. they had a display board with a rendering of their new facility they were to be building soon (or remodeling). things must be a positive outlook to dump construction money into a mits only dealer.
  9. Ok, they have effed the styling on this but still on a commodity basis, what you have, a really well priced AWD large vehicle non SUV with super fuel economy. That combination is practically non existent elsewhere. Despite all those flaws visually and perhaps 'drive wise' it ticks practically every box on my practicality menu for the next ride. The rear seat thing is interesting. The current one is huge. Hope they kept that in the new one. If they reduced the rear seat room, I am less interested. Since this Subaru looks a bit like a current Taurus, perhaps one could just get an AWD Taurus. Ah, the rub, lower mpg by a bunch, higher higher price. I suppose you could say the same thing about a Fusion. wow, that Camry dash is terrible.
  10. http://www.autoblog.com/2014/02/04/2015-subaru-legacy-leaked-chicago/ yes, the concept was MUCH flashier.......... Taurus front Camry dash Volvo side (a little Taurus in the C pillar too) Passat ass
  11. very much interested in this rig. AWD, and i like the current one, but the current one does lack some polish. Hope they keep the spacious interior. Gobs of rear leg room.
  12. lol....i always felt chrysler should have died and they should have saved Pontiac and Saturn instead.
  13. I test drove a 14 Malibu last wkd and I really like that shifter. One of the nicest shapes and locations I've come across.
  14. Until all the deli meat is gone.
  15. You have to admit, it is a looker with a sweet interior. And it is a coupe!
  16. i agree with Z06. mid fifties is a good place for this car to be. thing is, at 70k, they can make the same profit on fewer units.
  17. a twist action is harder for most folks to accommodate then a simple grab and pull. Door knobs were banished because of the difficulty of grasp and twist. It may seem cool because its new in budget cars but its not real ergonomic. I'd even argue its not near as safe to operate as a typical pull lever.
  18. outlander sport is a nice little rig. good to see the 2.4 and new CVT forthcoming. It might be my AWD go to work ride in the future if it does. If there were a chevy badge on the OS, it would sell 150k a year. If they keep the Outlander and sport fresh over time, bring back the midsize, and then grow the Mirage, that will be pretty good. Eclipse should not be brought back unless they make it say AWD option. I actually really dug the last Eclipse and it was nice being FWD for in the snow climes. When i sold and had people come in for Eclipses that was part of what they liked. They could buy their kid a sporty car but otherwise was like the FWD cars they were familiar with. 3000GT redux would be cool. Biggest gap Mits has is the Lancer lineup needs an update.
  19. ford's new mustang ecoboost is a 2.3t. made into a v8 it would be a 4.6. that would prob get 500+-600hp. that would be a durn nice lincoln engine.
  20. its a BITD sort of thing but really about what sort of buzz features the buyer demographic expects. i would say in 2015 or whenever, the market would be fine with the 3.6tt as a base engine. i do believe they will expect a DOHC v8, and that it would be appropriate for it to also be turbo. i think forced induction / turbo is becoming requisite in luxury cars. i think the tt v12 is a fantastic idea for a specialty model. i don't think the bare small block is what this kind of buyer wants or expects regardless of whether it is perception or other. I don't think the supercharged corvette mill is out of realm for say a V+ series or something. I don't think we are in the place anymore where it is a good idea for Chevy and Cadillac to share engines of any kind in uplevel trims or specialty models. Still dig the Cadillac sixteen. AWD should be built on about 80% + of this flagship. Myself I would enjoy to see a base ATS with AWD.
  21. oh, rebadging the should have been Chevy Trax with a butch grille
  22. how does one take personal responsibility for a self driving car? Someone's google prius spins out because it couldn't miss the inadvertent log or tire in the road, and ends up creaming me.
