  1. dash is bland but in line with the sort of look Hondaphiles seem to be ok with. the exterior is improved but dare i say slightly bloated. civic is now what accord was 10-15 years ago simultaneous intro with new cruze will blunt the chance for the Cruz to conquest buyers the cars in this class that give more leg room will benefit in the market, i think Honda gets it
  2. improved, still bland outside but the German fanbois will eat it up. The inside is much better. Looks like it has a real trunk now too.
  3. one reason models grow one class or whatever, their original demographic gets older and the class of car grows with it.......
  4. C/D tested the Malibu turbo twice, before and after the refresh. Best run was 6.2 sec to 60 and 14.8 @ 97 mph. Motor Trend got roughly the same, the Regal GS 2.0T was a tick faster. I said CTS, not ATS. yup, i had some dyslexia there.....
  5. good, for a honda actually. i thought the new cruze would spank this but i can see the fanbois will probably lean towards the hondas.....
  6. C/d tested the old turbo Mali at 5.9 IIRC. 3900 pound ATS? Wth! For a car with no room? And It only gets 25mpg or 24, combined. Mali at 3200 pounds is a great engineering achievement and closer to rivals like passat and Altima. Hopefully it hasn't lost the solid feel GM cars have, heavier doors, solid thunks, non flexy. sheet metal........ Big key for me with the 2.0 even if it loses power, is it refined.
  7. agree on the power issue......more specifically the base engine. the 2.0 is flat out too expensive. I don't care if it weighs less. The specs should be about 5-10% more power and torque. how this will sell? ultimately it has all to do with cheap leases if they want in roads in this segment. I know 2 people that keep rolling into new altima leases all the time. They like the car enough that its a no decision to just get a new one when its time because its so cheap. if you want to compete you have to have the 999 down 219 a month leases. FOR A CAR WITH A FEW OPTIONS. Chevy leases the Cruze pretty well and i know of one person who got a cruze who never would have otherwise if it weren't for the cheap lease. honda, toyota, nissan, hyundai, they make it SO EASY to get their models on the road in this segment. GM almost never does that.
  8. is power seat available on standalone on LS? I think its std on Fusion SE.......
  9. the 2.0t rwd i would enjoy a lot, just sucks that i live in a winter state that makes it impractical to own rwd cars as a primary vehicle. But 3700 pounds and with the size it is, the 2.0 will move it nicely and i bet it handles great. 1 year after intro there will be a base or level 1 2.0 CT6 rotting on the showroom floor because everyone will buy the v6, and then it will be nicely discounted. I guess I won't have won the lottery by then anyways.
  10. This is also pent up demand still from the 3-4 years that no one bought cars hardly. But still they drive cars
  11. i admit its small, but i like Regals, i do like the others as well. Are used XTS or new body CTS off the price charts?
  12. new and used prices go up when the credit faucet is wide open. people can't afford this stuff unless the rates are low and they are lending
  13. Once the reviews roll in, I think the bitching about pricing will go away. I'm most interested in seeing what a nicely optioned turbo with stick would go for. I'd want the high contrast interior and a moonroof to take away the claustrophobia. A nice option to some crappy FRS. I'd consider the v6 but I hope gm's six gets smoother one of these days. Side note. By the time Camaro six sales are in full swing maybe there will be big discounts on ATS coupes.
  14. Looks amazing.
  15. I tested the Ford Focus 1.0 6 speed mt awhile back check it out in reader reviews. I have no idea why ford sticks with 5 speeds with the base motor and fiesta
  16. can you imagine the ad campaign? "Scion. I M hip. I M amazing. I M revolution! I M sexy! I M, transport........"
  17. Subaru should ditch the boxers iMo. I get its their signature thing but I think for some models they could improve e 4 cylinder experience by going inline. Of course it would probably mess up their and setup.
  18. Was that Spring Hill? MexicoSorry for your loss Reg. Thanks Drew. I will miss Sunday night chats on the phone with him about GM metal and other cars.
  19. What I hate here, using the buick suv as a plant bargaining chip. How it should work, clearly there is a market need for the buick dealers, get it to market instead of delaying it and using it as a tool.
  20. Bad news. Saw this local newspaper this morning print edition and its online. The bad PR is already cemented http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSKCN0QN21E20150818 X2. We need the envision to ditch echoes of VUE / captiva Ive always liked the interior of the Chinese Envision, but the exterior looked like just another Vue-ick. I see lots of Captiva in it.
  21. Blu is right about Merc not having signature cues. The mark coupe, last one had the rear hump. This new thing most folks seeing it in a picture first time would have no idea what it is.
