  1. NO!
  2. Don't tread on me...
  3. Part 2
  4. I agree 100%. This is ridiculous for Pontiac to go 2 years without a mid/full size car. Granted they are paired up with Buick and GMC now, but what if I want a sporty mid size car and don't think a Buick would fit the bill? Sure there's still Saturn Aura and Chevy Malibu/Impala, but Pontiac is going to suffer without something in place by the time the GP is axed.
  5. Is it just me or does 20 MPG for city driving in the Aura seem low?
  6. Damn, I thought there was hope for it having decent interior room. Need to fit a 6 footer in front, and same directly behind *comfortably*. The LWB would have offered more of a fighting chance... So looking at FlyBrian's post, does that 7" all get sucked up by the interior space? Its basically the only thing between the wheels...Unless some of the trunk is affected somehow.
  7. Epsilon correct? But is it on the LWB like the Aura/Malibu Maxx/G6? Or on the regular wheel base version?
  8. Awesome video...just one small gripe. There was no Saab or Hummer emblem at the end. No love for these guys?
  9. Here's an idea. A 'family tree' of sort. To show which automakers own other companies. Like how Ford has Jag, Aston, Mazda, Volvo. I've often wanted to do this on my own, but lack of time prevents me doing the leg work.
  10. Driving is one of the most enjoyable things I could do. Nothing better than getting out on the open road and leaving all your work worries behind(assuming you are on a road trip as part of a vacation like me). I'm in Chicago and my wife's family, and her and I, drive up to Traverse City every summer. Good 5.5-6 hours. For our honeymoon we drove from Chicago to Maine and back. Took 2 weeks making various stops along the way. Route was Niagara Falls(Entered thru Canada), up the entire western side of Vermont, over thru the top part of New Hampshire, and then on the Acadia Nat'l Park in Maine. Followed the Maine coast south not quite to Boston before heading back thru NY, Penn, Ohio, IN, and eventually back home. BEST trip of my life BY FAR. Can't recall the total mileage but her Envoy handled it all easily. We even drove up Mt. Equinox 3,816 ft. Had we flown, there is no way this trip would have been near as enjoyable. Did I mention we did this in the Fall when the leaves were in primie time color changing?
  11. Judging by where each of you are located thus far in this thread, it appears to me that the upper midwest seems to be getting the first crop of the Auras.
  12. This subject can be dead now. I fixed it. I just unistalled Quicktime from my computer and now all is well. BTW: I tried the upgrade first, but it still wouldn't work for these websites.
  13. No Itunes for me.
  14. Browser is a SBC Yahoo DSL. Also have Internet Explorer, but only use for work(remote access requires this). Windows XP Home. QT is installed on the machine. Norton Antivirus and Firewall.
  15. I really don't like driving SUV's, but I am dying to have this vehicle in my household. My wife currently has an Envoy so I am working hard to convince her that this needs to be her next car. Too bad we aren't in the market to replace her car until a few more years. This thing is a looker though. This does look SHARP in black too!!
  16. I'm hoping someone on here is into computers and can help. I want to check out GMC and Buick's websites and since they have something being run thru Quicktime, my computer will not show it. All I get is the little Quicktime symbol...the little film real clip with a 'Q' in the center. I'm certain this is a simple adjustment needed to my computer settings, but I have no idea. I checked my internet settings and don't see anything listed for Quicktime, but all but 1 item was checked off under multimedia. The wierd thing is I have been able to watch other Quicktime movies on this computer. Why does it seem to hang up on the GMC and Buick?
  17. Awesome Pics. Did you take them?
  18. Saw one on the road in Western Burbs of Chicago about 3 weeks ago and the dealership have 5 on the lot.
  19. Wow, thanks again. I'll have to check out that site for more research as you suggest. 'Aero Academy'?!?! Never heard of that before. Hmmm...
  20. Thanks Aeroman. I'm so torn on considering this car when it comes time to buy. I was really hoping to hear that gremlins such as you described were going to be non-existent. I really do love the styling of the car and my company has an agreement with some local dealers to get discounts. Did the dealership cover you on all these problems...I would assume it was all under warranty? Still a hassle to deal with the service dept all the time and knowing that noise is there. By hit or miss I am assuming that you mean it depends on who you talk to? Like there isn't any consistency in the build quality. Some people get lucky and have no problems, while others do?
  21. Take a closer look between the two. They are not the exact same. 1. the crease on the front fender is different between the two. 2. the door handles are higher on the shoulder line than the Vectra. 3. The headlights appear to have a slightly different shape due to the crease mentioned in #1 above 4. Lower portion of doors have different shape. Aura has more bidy sills grafted in. 5. Rear C-piller shape and/or rear door window is different (Aura has black triangular piece, Vectra does not. 6. Lower front fascia air intakes are more pronounced on the Vectra (although we are expecting the Aura RL version to look more similar) 7. Maybe it is the angle/lighting in the pictures, but to me the greenhouse of the Vectra is almost Cadillac Catera shaped, whereas the Aura reminds me more of the Impala.
  22. Thanks HarleyEarl and dcs. Price is a major factor for me so unfortunately the 9-5 is out of the question. I do agree it is a nice vehicle and love the revised design. However I actually like the look of the 9-3 slightly better...mainly because of the way the rear side windows are integrated into the design. I'm really glad you mentioned the size of the back seat area. This is my major complaint of my current car ('02 Galant GTZ), and one of the most important areas in which I am basing my next car purchase on. I had a feeling it was going to be an issue on this car. I've got until sometime next year before I purchase, so I'll personally go check these out at the next Chicago Auto Show(no salesman hassles), and get a feel for the interior first hand.
  23. So I mentioned to a coworker the other day about the Saab 9-3 Sportcombi and he was like "Ewww Saab? Don't think you want to get one of those". I read the other thread about the theory on poor quality ratings, but what's the real deal here? Have there been that many complaints and reliability issues with Saabs as of late? Especially enough to cause this sort of stigma? I would like to consider this for a purchase in another 6-12 months, but don't want to regret the purchase shortly thereafter. Which brings up another question...how well do Saabs retain their trade-in value?
  24. You know the more I read this thread and the reasoning many of you have, I do see the advantage to GMC having the minivan. While I personally have vowed to never own one, I would admit a Denali version does sound interesting. I'm starting to see the light a bit more on this and with the B-P-G dealership combos, it could work. Z28Luvr1, your comment to my last post also made sense and you did have a very good commercial concept.
  25. I sure hope we don't see something like this in person. Maybe it's just a bad chop, but it really uglies up the Vette. Too Ferrari/Viper esque for my tastes. Maybe get rid of all the vents on the top of the fenders and change the same of the air inlet on the rear qtrs to an original shape and it could be okay. It's definitely aggressive and one mean SOB, but its too homemade hodge-podge looking to me.
