  2. P, you've never let on as to whether or not you have driven the LaCrosse. Have you? Which model? Do you like it? Have you driven all of the others? You really need to drive all the cars and "live in them" via a rental experience if you can. Rental rates sometimes get way low and it's a nice way to sample a vehicle to see if you can live with one day in and day out.
  3. YES! Same to you and every one else! It's a privilege to live here. We are lucky. We really need to be grateful to the men and women who serve this country via the military. Food for thought: On June 23, I sent my cousin in Italy birthday greetings and a nice "little" check for her birthday (to help her come over again) via international express mail. I used the "track and confirm" feature and it left the United States in a timely manner. It does not show up on the other side (the check has not been cashed, either). The USPS tells me the Italians are delaying mail for changes in how they handle customs. It has missed her June 27 birthday. They are so 'effed up over there, I swear. As I spent the weekend driving around Los Angeles's yarnwork of freeways and glitzy high-rises, one thinks of what one can achieve. The Italians (7th or 8th largest GDP in the world) can't do anything unless you put a stick of dynamite under their asses. I love going over there to vacation but kiss the ground when I get back because their incompetence and laziness gets to me. Happy birthday USA!

  9. Chargerino was a constant on the site and I hardly see him around anymore. He gave us "Word Association" - a great thread that might collapse under its own weight. So, are his parents giving him crap, is he burned out on the forum or is he mad at Croc for their sparring and/or NOS for the haunted house? Any takes on this one?

  13. Pardon my ignorance, but I can't visualize this car. Is it sort of like the Scion box? If so, that's U-G-L-Y.
  14. Firework shows are so variable. Two years ago, I saw the Legoland fireworks from neighboring Carlsbad / Encinitas. They were not that good...and you'd think they would have the money to put on a killer show!

  16. Nick, when is it ever humid in the Santa Clarita Valley? I was just there this morning and then got on a plane tonight to come home. That area is bone dry...totally brown and no build up to thunderstorms. I can image Magic Mountain (have they squelched the gang issues there?) as a toaster during the summer but not with humidity THAT high.
  17. just say no!
  18. I was in the desert on Saturday. It was 110+. Sure it was dry heat, but it was also 110. In May, I took 1 week of vacation and went to Florida. You rarely see triple digits in Florida but the 85 to 90 is always accompanied by high humidity (and thunderstorms). Obviously, I prefer 85 with 40% humidity, but if you had to pick....I seem to respond negatively to the high Farenheits. Your comfort zone?

  23. Ok, I'm in the Southland for the weekend (when I purchased the ticket, I didn't know I'd be here last month for the AIA convention). So, I forgot to bring CDs and I have to channel surf. So Cal keeps changing but some things have stayed the same for years. KRTH (K-earth) is still an oldies station, "The Wave" is still jazz, and KBIG is still generic pop. So, yesterday, I drive out to Rancho Mirage (bolts onto Palm Springs) and I'm on KRTH and I hear "Spill The Wine." What a goof-ass song, complete with the lady speaking Spanish in the background. Absurd. Then, I'm driving back and there's Disco Saturday Night ( ) on KBIG. I heard "Lady Marmalade" (voulez vous coucher avec moi) and "Push, Push in the Bush". What songs irritate the hell out of you and/or make you bust a gut?
  24. No. No, P. The "S" has always been the entry-level, economy moniker for so many cars over the years. I'm just looking for something COMPLETELY different and new for this sled.
  25. Alpha, where ya been? What "side" of the Sound is your friend getting married on? How's the weather up there this holiday weekend?
