Get on a plane? Let's go! Seriously, TC, I feel for you. Can't do the empty stomach thing if you so inclined. Need bland foods in there - like crackers and club soda, for instance. See your physician before you travel - people say Halcyon is good for the long trip, but I just stay awake for it all. Ask about meds ahead of time and bring 2 kinds in case 1 of them just doesn't do it for you. I don't mind the bumps here and there but those 100 ft. air pocket drops, especially on a '47 when you hear a "sonic boom" type of sound and watch the wings flap, well, it can get a little disconcerting. Lufthansa from FRA to YYZ was that way last July about 1 to 2 hours after departure. It's always nice to glide over YYZ on approach.

Will a tamer version of this general shape be grafted onto the LaCrosse/Allure CX and CXL next MY? I certainly hope so. Or will it happen in 2008?Also, regarding engines, I put some stock in what that one guy who comes out of the blue and makes these long well-informed technical posts says. The engine line-up (except for the Super) will stay the same through 2008 to match the flow of the model changes. After 2008, when there's a revamp, the drivetrain combos will change as well. Seems logical.

You must live somewhere near Yonge and Carlton, right? There is a high rise Days Inn at that corner I've stayed at (under $ 100 CDN in downtown T.O. and it's a reliable chain !)...and the neighborhood is...well...sensory overload.Knowing me, if I had to live in T.O., I'd probably live in Woodbridge. That's where all the assimilated WOPs moved upon leaving Little Italy. I went there to get something to eat on a Sunday afternoon before heading to YYZ for a flight out and, I swear, EVERY single 'effin restaurant said they didn't open to the general public until later because all the Italians, Portuguese, etc. were having BAPTISMS. And this was like 3 pm and I couldn't eat! Still, they have some nicer new construction out there. But, I'm a warm weather critter so T.O. will be a tourism destination for me. But I do like it. Incidentally, this thread would "SECOND CUP stories" in the Maple Leaf country.

My Torontonian friend:I am not sure what I think of this. I guess I don't think about it. I am only responding to your indifference toward any kind of marriage institution falling apart. I think it's kind of sad when this occurs. And I speak mostly for kids. I don't think that many kids come through a divorce unscathed. My parents are "old world European" and would have never dreamed of divorcing. Still, they were not the best parents - they really fell short in this department and would have probably been better parents on their own turf rather than in the U.S. However, I will have to say that I liked knowing I had a Mom and Dad that stayed together. The whole problem is that people ought to view their spouse as their "best friend." With so many people marrying to get out of the house, "don't know if a better offer will come along" or for "gold digging" purposes, it's no wonder many marriages fall apart. I think that trying to keep marriages together is a good thing and that all the trendy poly-whatever crap just isn't cool. Just my opinion.

Can't believe it....my Service Engine Soon light has been ornery. Both yesterday and today, I took short road trips. Today, I went to Tahoe and thunderstorms developed later in the pm. Yesterday: 27.7 mpg Today: 26.6 mpg I am amazed. With a Chevy 3.4 or 3.5 V6, I'd be passing 30 mpg.

Yep, on a beautiful summer day, that's a great place to sit and watch all the (weird) people go by.
