  1. Yo, PB dude, you can do the label thing by going to Costco (CK or RL jeans for $ 20, typically, or polos from outlet stores for about the same price). I tend to buy stuff at Macy's when there's a sale, a chunk from catalogs (LL Bean, Territory Ahead) but most of it from OUTLETS.
  2. Our business manager, knowing I look at LaCrosses and GPs on the web, told me her parents are selling a Grand Marquis :yuck: and that it was maintained, with low miles and that it would be a good deal for me ...SINCE I LIKE BIG CARS. (she sees my Regal at work). How asinine, I thought. I thanked her and then told her to look at the sleekness of a Grand Prix (more of a mid-size in my book) versus a bloated full size Mercury. I don't know if she "got it" or not, but I least I set her straight.
  3. Hey, that was before your time, how do you know about that?

  5. NOS, you won't be JUMPING out a cake, you'll be POPPING out of a cake...collar and all. Seriously, Z, have a great birthday / buon compleanno / feliz cumpleano, ok, amigo? Ciao.

  9. The ads are alluring in a way. I'm not sure they sell the car. (Nice to know they are being loyal to a demographic segment of their buyers). I think the tag line is terrible. While it doesn't need to be as baroque as "Standard of the World," it does need to be something more enduring. If GM's divisions are awakening from some type of slumber, the effort needs to be synergistic and they can't blow it with dumb-ass tag lines.
  10. Where did you get that? Magazine or chop? By who? That's an impressive and tasteful vehicle. Foreign manufacturers: RUN !

  13. It's like the opening sequence from "Beverly Hills Cop," the original. Good God...would anybody want to live there? Obviously, the auto execs have to live somewhere nice, but it isn't within the city limits. I think that if I could tolerate cold, I could do Toronto, but NOT Detroit.

  22. Toyota Corolla...stripped down. One fine day, I am driving into the SF area on the Bay Bridge. After passing the toll booths in Oakland, I start picking up speed to make it up the east span of the bridge. There are 5 lanes on top and 5 lanes going the other way below. I am going about 62 and, at mid-span, I have to brake for the Toyota Corolla in the MIDDLE lane going 47. I go around and it is a tiny Asian girl who CANNOT see over the dash and is clinging to the steering wheel as if it's going to fall off. I honk and gesture at her and she is still hanging onto the wheel for dear life, trying desperately to look straight ahead over the dash. Annoying.
  23. I am more corteous to drivers of a car than to an SUV. Then, I a more corteous to drivers of a "regular" car than, say, a Mercedes or a Lexus. But, overall, I am a conservative driver, given that I drive a Regal.
