  1. The starkness of the setting (deciduous trees) makes for a great backdrop and brings out the cars. Go for even spacing between the cars (I'm anal retentive) and get a little closer, still showing a lot of the grass in the foreground. As was said before, sharper resolution would be helpful. Cool idea for a pic.

  4. Pick and choose your options wisely. You know the variables better than we do. Wow, sounds like quite a list. I, myself, will have both an occupational change and a relocation in 2007, so I'm stressed just thinking about it.
  5. Happy New Year, gang. I hope that this next year is a good one. I've had worse ones, but I hope the next one is better. I will be making some very big changes, so I am a little anxious about them. At any rate, what are your plans for the holiday weekend? I have NONE...and that's ok. I might head up to some hot springs if the roads are ok....which I didn't do when I turned in my last final in mid-December. It will be nice to have no plans, for a change. What about you?
  6. YES! Exactly. So it isn't about being a technophobe, it's about being caught in that "transition process" you speak of. Unfortunately, I am one of those people who keeps cars as long as possible (92 Regal coupe, 231,000 mi / 375,000 km) so having too much gadgetry worries me. Except for the computerized engine management system, my car has none of the other things and very few power accessories. Thus far, I have replaced 2 oxygen sensors and 1 MAP sensor. When I see that a particular type of technology seems to be working, at that point I will accept it.

  11. OK, this thread is based on what repair bills for this stuff costs ...we've seen where ABS bills can go. With Series III 3800s came electronic throttle control; thus, there is NO accelerator cable. Now, VVT is on board...reading about it indicates it's somewhat complex and it runs on a powerful microprocessor. Even more interesting/foreboding is DOD/AFM which is available on the 3.9 V6s and on the 5.3 V8s. I'm sorry, but I'd rather do without most of this stuff, but I think I will have to get used to it. At least, I can buy-in after it's been around for about 3 years. What are your thoughts?

  17. What? An Angeleno that didn't mention 8 lanes of tarmac...meh...maybe 101 between Ventura and SB might count. LOL.

  20. I'm sorry, but anybody that has this $h! in their background (Vanessa Williams included) ought to be thrown out for being stupid enough to try out for a state/national pageant. While playing with her jiggly titties might be fun, I wouldn't want her to represent any state, let alone the nation. She is right there in Paris Hilton's skanky league and you can't forget that Nevada, in general, is "skank central" which is corroborated by their placement on so many state rankings for social ills. Is my Catholic school upbringing showing?
  21. I liked him. He was proof that the "knee jerk" anti-Republican reaction is not at all grounded, and this is coming from someone who is non-partisan...I vote for both Republicans and Democrats, based on the person and "context." We could use more Republicans like Gerald Ford.
  22. No, ocnblu, I am Brooks Brothers business casual all the way. My response to thread: banger
  23. That's right...you keep him in line! You mean the island of Lesvos in Greece, K.C.? My response to thread: Richter scale
  24. $h!, why be so limited, I've been told I've "got a thing for the Maple Leaf country" by a friend from WA state, so Happy Boxing Day to you too!
  25. Bad, bad, bad 70s architecture...nothing "contemporary" about it! LOL. P.S. How does that portion of the roof where the sled has capsized shed water/snow? No gutter and no apparent "1/4" per lineal foot" in the horizontal direction. :AH-HA_wink:
