  1. On cars: I HATE the Thesis....the name alone gives me the shudders ( ) I LIKE their Alfa Romeo 147 in coupe/hatchback form Have fun.
  2. I think the front end / grillework is a little bulky. Anyone agree with me? The v-shape hangs a little too low in the center. As for the rear, that's become cleaner....more like the STS. I did not like the chunky lights of the previous-gen CTS. The interior is nicely put together. The bolsters look supportive but not intrusive. I can do without the crest on the seatbacks...they will fall off soon enough, it would appear. I wouldn't buy one. I actually think the lines of the STS and the DTS are more nicely proportioned, but I wouldn't buy those either.

  10. Wooo-hoooo! Glad you posted! Pretty amazing place, huh? Not too many overweight women, at least under 40, anyway...see "the link" to Montreal now? I see you've already hit the Colosseum, the Imperial Forum and Piazza Navona. Hey, next time in Piazza Navona, I think there's an ice cream place a little off to the side called "Gelateria Navona" which has some great flavors like peach, strawberry.... off the Richter scale from what I recall... So you took Lufthansa over, right? The big 747 sled in the sky (ORD-FRA) and I'll bet the Germanic service can be a little uptight...it sure as hell isn't Alitalia where you'll eat very well but get there late, in true Italian style. I wish you the time of your life over there!
  11. Thanks! Never...thank God. The powertrain is original. I've changed the oil every 2,500 miles and I've also changed the transmission fluid and filter every 20,000 miles, the latter of which is something a lot of people ignore. I'd like to go for 250,000, now that I'm some 18,000 + miles away.
  12. What part of the country is that in....looks very wooded and like winter? By the way, your Seville STS signature is awesome...
  13. Wrong color. Not flattering at all. I don't see much difference. It's just my opinion, but I think the front grille is overwrought and hangs down too far. They could have done a new grille that was more subtle. The overall proportions and silhouette are fine; however, in that aerial shot, the beltline looks Camry-esque. I like the dashboard quite a bit. I especially like the placement of the center stack vents. It's not cookie-cutter.

  19. Chargerino, the pines and all that look pretty nice. I don't think I could handle the prairie part of it because it would remind me too much of Univ. of Illinois. I'm sure you've been to the place where they have the Four Presidents in the rock (I forget the name), right?

  22. They measure tread depths in 32nds of an inch. I believe most tires start with 10/32". The "head of the Lincoln penny" test should put you at 2/32". At that point, the tire wear bars (transverse to tread) should be even with the treads. In the wetter East, that would be getting risky. Of course, poor alignment (bashing curbs and such) will cause the tread to wear sooner and unevenly, meaning you will not get the maximum life out of the tires. Worn struts will also take an additional toll on your tires, thus shortening their useful life. I believe they have Costco on "the Island" or some facsimile thereof. When you do get new tires at a place like that, they will rotate them for FREE. I take them in for rotations every 5K to 6K and have gotten the estimated tread life out of my tires. Also, as soon as you get tires: (1) get the alignment done and watch the ruts/curbs from then on, and (2) check how your struts are doing (it's easy to test them via the "bounce test") Costco, unfortunately, neither aligns nor sells suspension components. When you do go in for rotations, ask them for treadwear readings. They have this little prong that fits in their "pocket protector" and they can give you all the readings in about 2 minutes, that way you can see that you are working your way down from 10/32" in a "proportionate" manner...or at least, you should be.
  23. This one is especially pertinent with me right now....have I got some stories...sheesh....
  24. crack (put these last 2 together )
  25. Yeah. Turkey burgers...I like those, too. I went to the gym tonight and actually completed 30 mins. on the elliptical. These kinds of foods are now part of the game plan.
