  1. Happy birthday, Mr. American Revolution 2005, since you pointed that out on my birthday thread. I don't know what that fetches in Canada, but I think it allows you to drive in most of the states down here in "the colonies." At any rate, have a great one! I'd put one of those bitchen' houses in your neighborhood in your combined birthday/Christmas stocking, but I don't think it would fit!

  3. I was surprised to see that "Cadillac" is one of the stops on the Montreal metro system. "Ooh-la-la," as my friends, the frogs, would say. Evidently, anything that ends with "lac" is the same as an Anglophone name ending with "lake." Yo, TYD, in which Montreal McDonald's is this plaque located? I'm going to "YUL" next year, again, using those wonderful miles!

  6. Funny...I once had a co-worker with the same birthday, we got put on the same project, we were night and day, oil and water, and almost went for each others' throats....apparently the stars WEREN'T aligned. Presents....Mom (Dad has expired) usually gives me money...which seems to cover the Christmas trip up to Portland (and that's fine).

  8. Muito obrigado, amigo! Preciso falar Portugues melhor porque eu gosto muito do Portugal e as coisas Portuguesas...uma casa com vista do oceano me aguarda no Algarve no minho futuro (right, I wish).
  9. Mi piace moltissimo! You know what that means, right?
  10. Mille grazie!
  11. Are YOU getting Social Security? Well, then...But thanks for the kind words.
  12. ...since I keep my profile so general and vague, I didn't put down precise area nor birthday. But today is it! My new boss (who merged in his practice into our firm) who is the ultimate moron, complete with personalized license plates proclaiming he is an architect (though incredibly mediocre), is not here today so "while the cat's away, the mice play"...I'll shut my door and work on some crap due for my night classes imminently... Famous people born today: Ted Nugent, Dick Van Dyke, Christopher Plummer and Mary Todd Lincoln.

  17. I work in a medium sized architectural firm and, in addition to our local drive, we download other stuff (such as our drawings and such) from a server. I also have a flash drive or thumb drive that I use up at the university at night and on weekends when I do crap for my night classes. Thus far, I have never had problems with a file on my flash drive. Interestingly enough, I got a message on the flash drive while at work, after a crash, that said "Volume is dirty." (Now, I do insert my flash drive, carried on my key ring, into my work computer to work on papers during breaks and on my lunch hour.) Lately, my computer has been crashing anywhere from 1 to 3 times a day. It seems to have started when I started using my flash drive (which has been inserted into many different computers on campus). Are these related? What would suddenly cause all these AutoCAD, Microsoft office and even Internet crashes on my work computer? Any ideas?

  22. Where was that taken? From the vegetation, it looks very Western. Horses scare the $h! out of me...in high school, we had a field trip and this 'effin horse started to go under a tree (right at about saddle level) at a horse riding place in the San Fernando Valley to try to get me off...never been on one of those bastards since. And as for ocnblu's comment, what about Queen Victoria's (or, one of the British monarchs, I forget which) horse riding habits?

  24. Has it been a good car, though (I am assuming 3400 V6)? Damn, every one I've had as a rental with that engine SIPS fuel? It's not a bad looking car, really. It's the only one with that styling bent that's left for mid-size personal luxury coupe buyers.
