  1. This should be a pictures thread; however, I couldn't resist. I think that the right to bear arms is part of the reason why kids can shoot at each other in the high school hallways or there are gang problems in South Central or East LA and I disagree with that. That's why we have the kinds of problems we do. Europeans I speak to also disapprove of this facet of Americana. I really wouldn't want to own one either. The only way I could justify it is if I lived on an isolated ranch on 200 acres in Montana to shoot at a cougar or a bear coming at me...or some deranged drifter who may have come onto your property looking to harm you (more of a movie plot, really). Hunting as a sport is not my cup of tea, either.
  2. great flick
  3. performance
  4. well done
  5. Pepto Bismol
  6. Does this taste sensation work on Veggie Burgers? That's all I've been eating lately.
  7. tension
  8. expand
  9. Thanks, sir! Actually I'm a B-O-P nut, though I do like all GM brands to some degree.
  10. Well, now I feel better. My last rental (Chevy with 3500) exceeded the 31 mpg on two long jaunts (32.6 and 33.4). I am hoping the 4 banger in this thing can reach 34 or 35 at "60 mph w/o AC" cruise mode.
  11. Reg, my boy, what do they say about used cars? Something about "someone else's troubles." Get the idea? I am such an ass. But then, you can be too. It's too hard to "sugarcoat." We both know it's more accurate when it's "raw." Back to the thread, please ....
  12. ...reliably an ass but somehow I tolerate you. my response to thread: runner-up
  13. ...roughly 6 months from today, I will get my braces off (did it as an adult) and my friend from SD told me I will always have to wear it...he got braces some 5 years after he got married, so at about 8 years after college...it sounds like you have to sleep with the retainer on.
  14. The 3800 used to be known as the 3.8 litre which used to be known as the 231 cubic inch engine....six, half-dozen or the other. Yesterday, on New Year's Day, driving home from the hot springs near Lake Tahoe, my '92 Regal 3800 coupe turned over 231,000 miles. Pretty stupid, huh?
  15. The body style/automotive package I want (mid-lux sport sedan or personal luxury coupe) is delivered exclusively in this manner. Believe me, if they had put the 90s Regal coupe, the Grand Prix sedan or the Intrigue on a RWD platform, I would have dug it. Just think how nice it would have been to lift the hood and see that 3800 sitting snug up against the firewall with all its under-hood components identifiable and easy to reach.
  16. Ok, me first: 1. I went to the gym last night - LOSE at least 10, even 15, pounds and firm up 2. Better management of generalized anxiety which at times rears its ugly head Others which will have to happen and are sort of inevitable: 3. Modified career change, and as a result of 3. 4. Relocation
  17. sad, isn't it?My response to thread: pretentious
  18. Deal breaker: The fact that a woman already has kids by someone else. That was the first thing that came to mind when I read the title. Oh, $h!, we're talking about cars: Overstyled or overly provocative exterior that will not age well as styles rapidly change.
  19. obsolete (records, that is)
  20. epic
  21. What's with the mileage? It's not that good. The 4 banger should make more than 31 mpg. That's what an Impala with the base V6 gets. And the 6 banger is in the mid-20s. I'm not getting that part.
  22. breadsticks
  23. croissant
  24. saline
  25. I am doing my beginning of the year file and paper purge, then off to a matinee. Haven't gone to a flick in almost a year! Happy New Year! Stay off the roads...some of you.
