You needed an "other" category. When I did have access to one, I would downshift first, if decelerating from, say, 50 to 25 mph. If at low speeds and coming to a stop, I would put it into neutral. Ah, yes, memories....truthfully, I'm GLAD I don't have a stick.

Hey guys, I expect to be leaving my Regal parked from mid-June until the beginning of August. I will be out of the country. I will be taking the car up to Portland but, since my Mom doesn't drive, I wouldn't even want her to start it and move it up and back a few feet to get things moving...though maybe a neighbor could do it. Still, it may wind up sitting there. I've heard that leaving them parked for that long can cause some problems. Namely, the battery may fail but more so than that, tires are supposed to get a "flat spot" or something to that effect. Is there any truth to that? What other car components could be adversely affected by being parked for a long time?

Despite it not being Italian, they did appreciate it as having a nice silhouette. Only 1 of the 2 sisters has been here and that one has been here twice, having sampled American cars I've rented to take her around. She acknoweldges that they are very quiet, comfortable, priced very well for what you get and are amazed at their longevity. She marveled how 70 mph (114 kmh) felt so much slower because of the excellent isolation of the cabin. In short, it's "un salotto mobile" to them. Overall, they gave the nod to the LaCrosse over the Monte Carlo.

I just got off the phone with my cousins in Italy, having sent them pictures from Christmas and Montreal, which included MC and LaX pictures. Without even soliticing such a comment, they said they did NOT like the forward protuding very oval grille! I told them that, most likely, it will go away next year.

I would have rather seen a from-scratch effort, rather than another Australian import. I was just at the PMD dealership this morning getting my car serviced (they work on other GM brands) and was looking at GTOs in the showroom. Good, but not great. It almost seems like we are running out of ideas, but then, are we? In the same showroom was a wonderfully executed GMC Acadia...tasteful exterior and beautiful dashboard/cabin...come on, get the creative juices going and give us a compelling all-American Bonneville replacement on Zeta that's right for the times.

Yeah, I may originally be from LA, but I'm boring...so I'll comment on the "W-bodies." What a nosedive for LaCrosse sales? Novelty may have worn off. What are the blue hairs buying, anyway? They are living longer. Impy is showing well, given that it's a good package for the money and now looks better than it did in 2005. Platform mate MC is just inching along. Oh, well, full-size coupes are a tough segment, though, I really do like them - especially when I see a pristine and properly equipped 1997-2002 GP coupe, for example. What? Still some new Aleros and Sevilles hanging around to be sold? Interesting.

In this photo, she looks like a Hispanic Diana Krall. I found out Diana Krall (a Vancouver BC native, and BC women are typically so homely...just like most of the women in Seattle and Portland) is married to this fairly ugly movie star or musician so, turbo, maybe you can "unseat" him, depending on what he "brings to the table." Incidentally, Diana Krall does have an 'effin great voice...it's kind of deep and silky at the same time.Wondering if "caliente Mexican" meant she was "hot" or came from someplace with the word caliente in it...like Aguascalientes.

Bingo, agree with "z" and "ponchoman." This is a platform that has been around for a while but, God, has it served its patrons well. I have rented LaCrosses 3 times, the last time of which I put 1,400 miles on one, and it is super easy to live with and does everything well. Yes, the updated platforms will be better. I am waiting to see the unveiled exterior. My only negative on the LaCrosse is the dreadful "Medicare Mabel" grille. It is a throwback to the 2000 LeSabre. Also, the mousefur fabrics are very "low-rent district" which bothers me since I can't stand any leather interior...especially in a hot climate. I am hoping that the new grille/light treatment is the crisper and more angular like one shown earlier here on the site. That grille should also extend to the base models. Also, the venti-ports should be a little further forward from the driver's door. Now, if only this "brick" color that is showing up in the Acadia, the Malibu and others makes its way into this car....yessirree. The side profile and rear views of the LaCrosse are quite nice as it currently stands. Just view them in 360 on the Buick web site. And, sorry, the 3800 in the base model would serve me just fine. Gas mileage is good (I clocked some 29.5 mpgs while, as "ponch" said, I've gotten 32.6 and 33.4 on 3500 equipped Monte Carlos and Impalas which is nothing short of stunning for a conventional gasoline engine lugging around that much sheetmetal and pumping out 211 ponies in the process).
