  1. Your leak - how about all around the rear window moldings? "Cutlass Supreme 1" had a landau roof which, to install at the dealer, they had to undo the moldings and put them back. Evidently, in the process, they might not have been sealed correctly. As the car got older, every time it rained, the trunk would fill up and I would have to go out there with a small bucket and a sponge. Not fun.As for Sicilians, there are even more varieties. Just about everyone in our family has the darkest shade of brown hair, or black hair, a medium complexion that tans and either blue or green eyes. The stereotypical Sicilian (Type I) is not found on either my Mom or Dad's side, though our family members have married "Type I's." Their kids have all turned out looking dark (dominant traits, I guess)....like aaaantoine!

  3. So I'm NOT abnormal. I learned this, too, after 2 miserable sleepless nights.

  5. With so much of the country that is subjected to the "elements" in the winter (snow, sleet, ice) etc., I was actually surprised that there would be such a wholesale push over to many RWD platforms ...and that people living in those areas would actually WANT IT.As for myself, the few times that I've been subjected to driving in snow or ice (mostly in the Sierras), the Regal's FWD has gotten me through whereas I am not so sure my beloved RWD Cutlass Brougham coupe could have coped as well. I am not so FWD/RWD divided. The thing I actually like about RWD is how "organized" the engine compartment looks! LOL.
  6. Avoiding you. LOL. I was wondering the same thing.Answer to thread: head
  7. I was looking forward to Easter weekend to go up to my Mom's in Portland to be "pampered" a little bit. At any rate, I "turn in" in the downstair's bedroom (the guest room) where my Dad spent his last years so he didn't have to do the stairs and couldn't fall asleep! The damn mattress was ridiculously FIRM. My own mattress is somewhat firm, but it softens up nicely to adjust to body contours and the shifting of your weight. (Nothing special, just a $ 450 set). That right amount of sponginess, together with flannel sheets, and I'm asleep in 5 to 10 minutes as if I was under anesthesia. So, the mattress in my Mom's guest room screwed up my Easter weekend. What type of mattress firmness do you prefer?

  9. Hey, Pantho, have a great birthday! You've got vintage iron to celebrate. Hey, dsuupr, have a great birthday as well! You've got a new job to celebrate. BTW, I passed by "your exit" on I-5 driving from Portland to Salem on Easter Sunday to go to some friends' house for dinner.

  11. I used to psychologically squeeze by at $ 2.99 a gallon. Now, it's clearly above $ 3.00. It has definitely changed my driving habits. I was never a lead-foot to begin with, but now I am more cognizant about my RPMs...I try to keep them nice and low at cruise. But, more so than this, I noticed I am driving less...by just not going somewhere or grouping errands. The reason I think about this is that it is really $h!ty for the economy. Malls, restaurants, dry cleaners and such depend on you getting into your car as much as you did before to keep their business operations on par with previous years. You know that people are driving somewhat less and merchants are paying the price, while oil companies and related industries are benefitting. Disturbing...to me, at least.

  13. Boa sorte pela sua examen!Guess what, guys, went to the restaurant Friday night with my Mom and they had up on the chalkboard: SHARK! Normally, it is delicious when prepared correctly. At this restaurant, it was AWFUL. Should have ordered the salmon...it was up in the NW, after all.
  14. Voila! Les fotos sont ici! J'ai retourne' hier de Portland ou j'ai vu beaucoup de Subarus pleines de femmes avec les cheveux courtes....vous savez cette espece. Ok, back to the car. The pic I chose above is very flattering to the coupe-like styling despite being a sedan. That dashboard kicks ass. I've rented at least 10 of these, so I've sat behind that dash for at least 7,000 miles and I like it! Had a rented Monte Carlo for the weekend...still don't know what the hell to do. CONGRATULATIONS!
  15. For its 15 years and 234,000 miles, my 3800 Series I is quiet. It was extremely quiet during the first 100,000 miles, but now is a little less so. This engine, for some reason, tends to "appear" quieter when put into Buick and Olds products...it's probably the level of sound dampening. BTW, are the 60 degree V6 families put out by GM supposed to be smoother and quieter? That's what one post above infers.
  16. shift (like your new car)
  17. Of those choices, I voted LaCrosse CXS since you like the S. The Aura may seem cramped for someone your height. I felt cramped. The Malibu will be an all-new model, plus it's on the Aura chassis, I believe. Wait the extra year or two, but it sounds like you need it now. The Lucerne...I think you're too young for it, though that hasn't stopped Fly and 98 from going "boulevard." The Accord...that would make you a "Benedict Arnold" on this forum. You know what they say about returning to "first impressions," be it a multiple choice test or whatever.
  18. Which is amazing, because I think it's such a good looking car....especially in silver with the red interior and red gauges!Ser gut!

  22. Hey guys: For those of you who celebrate it, have a great Easter Weekend. For the "mackerel snappers" in the bunch (derisive name for Catholics), remember it's Filet-O-Fish for lunch....just that 1 day a year....c'mon, we'll get through it. Sure would like to find a nice juicy broiled shark steak for dinner, though. Leave for Portland tomorrow and come back down Sunday night. My Mom said she won't be cooking any of the 3 days and, for Easter Sunday, these friends of hers who transplanted up there from LA within the last 6 months invited us to eat at their place. What are C&Ger Easter plans?
  23. You might surprise yourself. I picked up and moved to ATL from the cushy comfort of my parents' home in LA a few years after college and made a go of it. I then returned out West (to Portland) to be near them and wound up leaving again, this time to Northern Cal. Could this have some meaning?
  24. How many other "mistakes" are there in your family?
