  2. QUOTE (FUTURE_OF_GM @ Oct 23 2008, 09:12 PM) got the "your cars just compensate for your small penis" speech from an uber hippie idiot (architecture seems to have a lot of these people) Ain't that the truth? It's amazing how one could like, or be competent, at architecture and hate architects. It really attracts some weird ones, including its share of granolas. Yes, this neighboring lady said that about a guy with the largest of the Ford trucks, with huge tires and Texas plates. I think he works in some type of construction endeavor 1/2 the time and is at the gym the other 1/2 of the time. Comments for BOTH of my cars: Others: Gee, it's a Buick, it must consume a lot of gas. Me: Not really, it has a 6 cylinder engine. Others: So, what do you get, about 17 to 20 miles per gallon? Me: No, about 27 to 30 miles per gallon on the highway. Others (eyes open wide): Reeeeaaaaalllllyyyyy????

  5. $1.97 at Safeway in NorCal with club card...UNbelievable....road trip this weekend.
  6. I just figured out what the DTC in your sig means....Denver Tech Center...kaching, kaching...
  7. polygamy
  8. Most bizarre artists bat for both teams. Is this big news?
  9. In SoCal, while taking a community college class in between summers, a black chick was quite pissed that the machine swallowed her change to no avail. She yells out, with her hand on her hip: " 'Ama let this machine take my money or 'ama act a fool?" The things we don't forget.
  10. Very tough call...can't think of many EXCEPT the Impala. Flagship Cadillacs don't seem to wax and wane too much in terms of sales...there will always be rich retirees in Palm Springs and Palm Beach. I was just at the bookstore /cafe having COFFEE. I was in the auto section and saw the pictorial "GM - 100 years," an awesome coffee table book. I was both fascinated and depressed. I was going through the 70s pages. Everybody wanted a new Cutlass, Monte Carlo, or Seville in their driveways...all of their new cars had something distinctive about them and most up them held up well mechanically. Was it the 80s when the "bottom fell out" on quality? (Some of them were ok). In 20 years, the domestic automakers either did something (or DIDN'T DO something) to alienate a lot of customers. The domestic automakers are paying for their perceived, or actual faux pas of the '80s, and, combined with the struggling economy, it appears to be a "perfect storm."

  12. Which is sad because the GTO wasn't bad and the G8 is a real good-looking car.
  13. Malibu - nice driving car, got great accolades out of the gate, staying power is kind of questionable, has styling that is too "thick" and not timeless Grand Prix - I see them every day, and think what a GREAT car that could have been with some "nip and tuck"....this could have stolen a lot of sales from its non-GM competitors, as this is a segment that many people want and need in their driveways.
  14. I kind of liked the Reatta...in Maui Blue...though I wouldn't have bought one. I think the mid-90s oval tail Riviera did NOT do well...weird car.

  16. Mind blowing. Saw several stations on the way to work at $1.99 for basic unleaded...on the West Coast, no less. Never thought I'd see this. Is this supposed to be a "difibrillator" for a stuck economy and a way to move Escalades? I don't know. I don't know where ANYTHING is going. I do know that I make take advantage of these prices and do some road-tripping....and, when I'm up north for Thanksgiving, Vancouver BC is looking more probable, so I will be packing my passport...

  18. You mean "do you want CHIPS with that?" C'mon, give it a rest, what would do without these smug inbreds to make fun of? They're an eccentric lot. Not everybody can be German...I mean Italian.... They do build a beautiful ship, though. Here's a pic I got of the QE2 from the 25th floor of the Radisson Montevideo Uruguay (less than $100, with buffet breakfast) while on vacation in South America during Thanksgiving Week 2005. I didn't even know it was there, went up to the 25th floor for the breakfast buffet and saw it from the windows. I bolted out of there like a "bat out of hell" to get my new digital camera in my room. Probably have 30 pictures of the whole "entrance sequence." Here's one:

  21. Moltie, the New York to Southhampton transatlantic "shuttle" is now handled by QM2. The newer QV will be more of a specialty ship, geared more for cruises, but has some transatlantic voyages in her calendar. However, if you decide to go transantlantic, you most likely will get to go on QM2, which is enormous.
  22. Yeah, PCS, you're so "virginal."
  23. arthritis
  24. Something like a virgin in (Arkansas, or insert name of location) being someone who can outrun her brothers?
  25. Thank top-of-the-heap American, and developed world, greed for making this happen...Enron, WaMu, etc. etc. Think of how many people are hurt by the actions of a few, and this is coming from someone who started out in the college of business administration....
