  7. I'm laughing right now. When I was a kid, I used to ride my bike to LAX (not a smart thing to do, as little as I was and since it was 6 miles away from our house using busy boulevards) and then I would come home and draw 747s of each and every airline / paint scheme that came to Los Angeles. I found the sketches cleaning out paperwork after my Dad passed away and busted up laughing. The things parents do.... Oh, yeah, things to relax....drove up to Chico to spend a couple of days...it's one of the largest towns in the less populated "North State," with only around 100,000 people, yet very peaceful and at the foothills of the Sierra. I do this about 4x a year.

  9. Wow, what a beautiful car! The departure of a plush cloth burgundy interior (which I have in my Regal and COULDN'T get in the LaCrosse) is the sad closing of another chapter in American automotive history. I love your car. I didn't much care for the 78-80 Cutlass Supremes, but the 81-88(RWD Classic) series came back with a vengeance. The sloped back grilles and thinner, more Eldorado-ish taillamps made a difference. My favorites within that series are the 1982, 1984 (which I had) and the 1987, mostly because those years had the best grilles. What I would like is a 1982 Supreme Brougham coupe - Light Jadestone Metallic / white top / jadestone cloth interior - 260 V8 - rally wheels - and low miles. I think that's asking for too much.

  14. Ok, assuming you insist on a new car.... ....there's a chance in a blue moon that there might be an 08 Grand Prix base model here or there. You could also pick up an Impala LS/LT 3.5 with the more basic things on it or a Malibu LS/LT with the 2.4 L4. All are good cars ... but if you can handle something "gently used," then go Pontiac G8 - what a looker - but would a Pontiac G8 be "gently used?" Also, the G8 hasn't proven itself over long-term use with its newer mechanical components and such. Actually, this is a tough question!

  18. * falling off my chair laughing * I've NEVER heard that before...I'll have to rent it. Had I had kids, they would have to say that about me too, because 2 Cutlass Supremes preceded the Regal and the LaCrosse. Thanks for the chuckle and the info.
  19. That includes chocolate, right?
  20. I think I would resonate better with PHX than DEN...Phoenix seems more free-wheeling and West Coast like....kind of a low-priced OC in mentality, or much like the "Inland Empire." I tend to dislike any place with a "cultish" mountain sports / outdoorsy / Western / bohemian vibe, so Denver (and the fact that I can sense Boulder is nearby) has never had much "pull" for me, though it is indeed a nice area, particularly in the newer suburbs. If I ever left the West, it would be for the warm-weather Southeastern states. For some crazy reason, I can do a miserable and humid 90 before I can do a scorching 105.

  23. Hey, Merry Christmas, men and women of C&G. I may go to Midnight Mass, I may go in the morning, and I have no plans because it's not a 4-day weekend for us. So I may just snooze. Any plans? Happy holidays!
  24. Biz, that's why you fit right in here.
