  1. Costco (for its $1.50 meal deal)
  2. Congratulations. I had the opportunity to rent a base 4 cyl. and liked it a lot. If the 4 cyl. was likable, I imagine the 6 cyl. has even more to recommend it. For the price, the road manners are very good. That second picture (shown above) is a flattering shot of the car.
  3. Today I decided I'm going for 300,000 miles. I penciled out the big item maintenance intervals (tune up, brakes, trans fluid change, serpentine belt) and, hoping there are no major unforeseen items (praying, crossing fingers), it seems to be doable. But it's mostly because today, as I drove to Grass Valley, CA and Nevada City, CA some 30 miles north of I-80, coming toward me was (1) a 95 or 96 Regal coupe (with the all body-color bumper system) in silver, and (2) a 91 or 92 Regal Limited coupe in the darker gray...within 15 minutes of each other.
  4. The South
  5. Well, reg, do a compare-contrast between him and Gene Wilder and you'll know why.
  6. Thank you. Befitting 2008, the write-up was more succinct, it seems, than others in the past, but you covered all the bases. Yes, gmpartsgirl, is welcomed with open arms and, like many of us, carries a torch for the Cutlass. Whether or not she can defuse all the testosterone remains to be seen. Yep, the Volt et. al. As I start "recharging" my GM Card for the next purchase (cough), I am certainly hoping it won't be a transversely mounted internal combustion V6 engine. Charger4U has practically grown up on this board. Word Association is in the vicinity of 72,000 views. Will there be a Y2K of sorts when that "odometer" approaches 100,000? Thanks to Charger4U, we have this immensely popular thread. Thanks, bobo, and Happy New Year everybody!
  7. muncher (Damn, it's a New Year, and I'll never change...hopeless)
  8. I was thinking the same thing. It sounds more like an anger problem (many stars seem to have this issue) and an "above the law" problem (Elliott Spitzer, et. al.). At any rate, what an ass. Could you imagine the press that would have followed this if he had "taken someone out" in the process of speeding?
  9. "bamalam" response to thread: Alabama
  10. puma
  11. loafer (somehow, I can't see ocnblu in penny loafers) Happy New Year, PB.
  12. About the psycho lady in a Mercedes, two words: Irma - Bunt About Northern Italy, be sure to drive the SS 48 (Strada delle Dolomiti) between (roughly) Bolzano and Cortina d'Ampezzo in the Dolomites south of Austria. Three words: Oh - my - God.

  15. All good stuff...what kind of building was your first real building? The first one I did where the whole thing was 90+% my design was about 3 or 4 years after school and it was a 90+ unit assisted living facility, complete with the dining, food preparation and social areas. It's a great feeling. I always liked working in a firm where you get to do it all: design, documentation and construction admin. Congrats.
  16. I was going to go to a religious retreat that started Christmas Eve and ended mid-day New Year's Day, with church services on New Year's morning. THEN I thought...hmmm....it was a small chunk of change for dinner, the overnight lodging, and breakfast, so, 30 minutes ago, I decided against it. I'll probably go to church on Jan. 1 am, but now have no plans for New Year's Eve and plan NOT to be driving around with all the nutjobs around.

  19. Where is that? To the North of Lisbon? Between where you are and Setubal? Be careful when driving home from that...those Portuguese drivers seem even wilder than the Italian ones, if that's possible (picture me going the speed limit in a rented Peugeot 107 manual or Corsa with the automatic on the "freeways" around Porto, but then I'm American)
  20. And the city you just described is metro Seattle, though the overcast weather is a BIG problem and the people, for the most part, are even BIGGER a-holes.

  22. Well, I like the way AZ "looks" but the weather in the summer would knock me out. On the flip side, I think Denver's land-locked and too far from anywhere setting would drive me nuts. Midwesterners adjust to it since it's adjacent, but I don't know if a person raised on the coasts could. You went to HS in Marathon, on the Keys, right? I've often wondered if I'd like living in FL, seeing that I vacation there so much and like living in shorts/t-shirt most of the year. The cool, overcast weather we're having right now bothers me, except when I want to have coffee or tea somewhere. For me, I hope 2009 is better than 2008. The only bright spot in 2008 was the LaCrosse at the very beginning of the year.
