  1. Whatever happened to the good old days when practically everything came in tow and four door post, two and four door hardtop, and station wagon form? Something for everybody. What a novel idea.
  2. Good old GM. They could have kept everything AND paid for its upkeep if they, y'know, LET THE GENERAL PUBLIC COME IN AND LOOK AT IT. What a novel idea. Imagine that, charging a nominal fee per person to view a collection of artifacts. I think it's called a "museum." I dunno. I've read about them in magazines before, though.
  3. Very cool stuff. Might I suggest that you divest yourself of everything BUT your El Camino stuff, seeing as that's who you are. What other things of interest do you have?
  4. Makes me glad that I made the trip out to New York City for the auto show last March and saw it in person on the turntable. Plenty of people were standing around it when I was there.
  5. It's not like the thing has any top secret goodies they can't let get into the hands of the public or anything. It's just a Holden Ute with a Pontiac nose. Why not try to make SOME money off of them?
  6. Why wouldn't they sell them along with all of the other stuff from the Heritage Center at Barrett-Jackson this year, I wonder?
  7. Ruh roh! I feel a Marvin Heemeyer-style rampage coming on!
  8. I'd be interested in any Cadillac stuff you may have, as well as if you have any neat independents if you have stuff that goes back that far (Packard, Hudson, etc.)
  9. Any highlights of the collection you'd like to be more specific about?
  10. What's the payment like and how much left do you owe on it? Just curious, if you don't mind my asking
  11. I can think of a few things I can get rid of though, now that you mention it. And a couple projects I need to get going on. Any idea how I can convince the girl to let me keep one of my antique snowmobiles on display in the living room after it's restored
  12. An easier thing than making a list of stuff you don't need might be making a list of stuff you do need

    An Icy Stare

Saw a late 70's Lincoln Continental Town Car, last of the monsters ('78-'79ish), in rust with a burgundy vinyl top. This thing was almost see-through in spots!
  14. Not really, I'm a packrat. But I WILL say that as of late, I've been looking at all my stuff, seeing what I really want and would like to have more of, and am looking to get some of the less desirable stuff out of here, and using the proceeds to get more of what I really like.
  15. I thought you were pretty deep into the whole landscape design thing, no?
  16. Well what do you want to do? Is there any way you could make it work?
  17. Buy a big compound out in the middle of nowhere and start buying and selling El Caminos
  18. Camino, you sound like you're about ready to climb a university clock tower with a trunk full of guns. Maybe it's time to drop off the face of the earth for two weeks and take a crazy road trip to clear your head. And don't quit being a mod, either.
  19. I've never thought of a barn door Suburban as a vehicle with a rear visibility issue, but rather as a training vehicle for if I ever get one of these: Just think; by the time I get my hands on one, I'll be completely used to the look in my rearview mirror from all the years of driving a barn door Burb.
  20. Another nail in the coffin if you ask me. How many people do you think belong to this site because they're fans of what General Motors used to be, not what they currently are or will become? I know I fall into that category.
  21. I don't believe in frozen pizza as there are great real pizza options everywhere around here (read: NOT chain pizza). So I guess for nostalgia's sake I'll choose the Ellio's Pizza Squares that I ate so many of as a little kid.
  22. The Suburban is dead to me now that there is no such thing as a barn door option, and no such thing as a GMC Suburban (who the hell wants a Yukon XL?!). What happened to the days of these things being big, rugged, utilitarian work vehicles? Four swiveling heated leather captain's chairs and a TV for everybody aren't things I think about when you're pulling up on a jobsite. Especially when to top it all off it's a useless goddamn hatchback like a f@#king Honda Civic.
  23. Man, I'm glad I washed mine a couple hours before; it was dirtier than the other three combined before I did!
  24. That's a nice Burb, dude; why'd you get rid of it? Very unusual to see one of that generation without the privacy glass in back, but I like the look, personally. Half-ton or 3/4? Two or four wheel drive?
  25. Holy crap! It's perfect! The two-tone, the four wheel drive, diesel power, and the eight foot stepside bed! The fact that it's a GMC makes me want it even more! Wow, I need to find a way to get this.......
