  1. Sad, but true. I can think of a few people I went to high school with that are unemployed and have more or less quit life to smoke weed and play Halo.
  2. I miss my '77 Coupe DeVille: the trip odometer was broken and stuck at 666
  3. I dunno, I've been jumping and slamming my head into bricks for years, and have never once gotten any money or food or flowers out of them.
  4. I hope I win the lottery some day so I can do something as frivolous and wonderful with the money as this. I'd love to pick a year and recreate it.
  5. Cash talks, bull$h! walks. Show up with $3000 cash and he'll probably bite. If you want the car that bad, you'll go with money in your pocket.
  6. I'd rather weld patch panels and rebuild engines for old Chevy trucks for the rest of my life than buy a new non-GM product (which is what I plan on doing anyways).
  7. Nothing like a good bum wine; try Night Train or Wild Irish Rose. To enhance the experience, drink it from a brown bag while sitting on the curb soaked in your own urine.
  8. Certainly do; one of my favorites, and apparently true!
  9. You are correct, sir
  10. The ever-dependable TBI 350 V8
  11. Shot down in a blaze of glory?
  12. Congratulations on your milestone; I just hit the quarter-million mark in my Suburban yesterday. Somebody needs to document all these high-mileage domestics out there to show all the Jap/Euro nerds that think they don't run after 40K.
  13. Last night at around 11:00 PM, I hit the quarter-million mile mark in my 1990 Chevrolet Suburban. Sixty8 was there to verify and document the event: Still going strong after 19 years; can't wait for 300,000!
  14. I do! Love to go deep sea fishing when I'm able. It's in my blood (grandfather was a commercial lobster fisherman and taught my father everything about it). My father bought a 34-foot Webber Cove downeast lobster boat last fall, and every Sunday I go down to his shop and help him work on it, readying it for next season. Can't wait!
  15. I also have this one on my wall at work, one of my all-time favorites (and very similar to the way the suits there deal with this issue): OB and Camino: I would do unspeakable things to own that wagon.
  16. Quality comic; I printed it out and have it on my wall at work.
  17. If there was a quotable quotes thread, this would be the title. I'll second that one for sure

    EYE CANDY

Saw a '68 Plymouth Valiant four-door being driven by a young kid, metallic blue spray paint body with a surface rust roof. It was a turd, but still cooler than anything new on the road I saw today.

    EYE CANDY

Saw a young kid driving a pretty nice looking 340 Duster today, almost too nice for the weather up here; his only car, perhaps?

    EYE CANDY

Just went to get some lunch and saw a guy in a rough around the edges mid 70's Corvette convertible, white with a black primer rear enduro bumper, top down, driving through salt water & slush, guy had a winter hat and jacket on and looked like he was enjoying the hell out of it. I would be too!
  21. That is the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. Just think of how many cars you could put in that back chamber! And you could work on them whenever you want; don't think there would be any noise complaints.

    Apple

The only Apple I've ever owned is a G3 an old girlfriend of mine gave me. My cousin, however, is a big time Apple nerd. His most prized possession is a brand new, never used Apple IIgs WOZ edition with every optional drive and accessory brand new, sealed in the box with every ounce of paperwork. He bought it for $300 off an old boss of his about 15 years ago who bought it for his daughter to use in college but she ended up not going. He tells me it's worth a small fortune.

    EYE CANDY

Saw a GMC General 10-wheel dump truck on my way to work this morning; been a long time since I've seen one of those.

    EYE CANDY

Saw a 1957 Ford Custom 500 four door Ranch Wagon on a flatbed on my way to work yesterday morning in white/aqua/rust, hopefully heading to a new home for restoration. Looked to be in pretty decent shape for 53 years old.
