  1. "wallow," is a term best left for describing SUV's. The XLE V6 Camry I drove cornerned flatter w/better weight transfer than the Accord. I did a few 55-100mph pulls and at 100mph bumps and expansion joints weren't unloading the chassis. It felt very confident even at those speeds, moreso than the Accord. Tire and wind noise were on par or better than the TL's. Steering if I can remember is tighter than the TL's, feel was minimal. Brake pedal was firm but I didn't bother testing it out. The tires squeal if you push it around, but so does every vehicle I've driven. The ES350 isn't an EVO, I had no trouble tracking straight, maybe his was a preproduction flaw. Either way I doubt his test drive was longer than a couple of minutes, as Conor Twomey doesn't appear to be a more than an amateur journalist. The ES350 has a serious shot at breaking 85k units annually. It's shocking Lexus can charge as much an IS350 and get away w/it.
  2. It will most likely have a 6spd by then and some slight styling changes.
  3. This Peter fella hears what he wants. ("The new LS600h is one of the quietest if not quietest vechicle ever built" != "The new LS600h is the greatest vehicle ever built") No duh Toyota takes pride in the LS600h, its their first ever S600, 760i competitor.

  5. $750million per quarter is a huge savings. I'm not knowledgable enough in accounting to know if that $2billion Suzuki sale is included in calculating profits. I can see GM returning to profitability by 2007.
  6. This is the same Honda that had a near 100% tranny failure rate.
  7. Drive the new one, it's much nicer than I was expecting. From my personal experience it's far nicer than the Accord and better than the TL.

  9. Test drove an 07 Camry at the dealer during an oil change today. All V6's were XLE's and fully loaded. Probably identical to edmunds minus the NAV. I don't have much time for a write-up, but I'll say I was impressed. Easily a better vehicle than the current Accord. Not that the Accord is bad, but its chassis just isn't as refined as the new Camry's. With that engine/tranny/chassis it will sell itself. And after seeing one up close, the looks didn't bother me at all either. I even liked it, the hood cutlines are just a little odd. Car is a definite hit. Any serious potential buyer who test drives one will take it home. There was also a used STS V8 sitting outside. 10kmi for 39,XXX. Sat in it, must say its interior is inferior compared to the new Camry I drove.
  10. http://corporate.honda.com/press/article.a...d=2006041234998 Audi picked a the wrong time to switch to a diesel. http://www.s2ki.com/Home/content/view/252/6/
  11. That's nice and all, but that still isn't enough people to support multiple brands. Either the Aura or G6 goes, I don't see GM selling both at least in terms of retail sales. kbyebye
  12. Beyond a GM fanatic's eye the new Saturn products are nothing spectacular. The Sky is a niche vehicle with no profit. The Aura offers little if anything over its competitors. The Outlook is the only one w/any selling potential. Lots of new vehicles but IMO Saturn doesn't have the customer base.
  13. The Accord hybrid won't move anywhere once the Camry hybrid is on sale.
  14. Lexus 1st recall for the LS400 involved them sending mechanics to the owner's home. They had to fly one out to Alaska.
  15. Of Saturn, Buick, and Pontiac one or more likely two will certainly fizzle out w/in the next 5-12yrs. The market will not support multiple rebadged vehicles. GM can't continue relying on fleeting cars to prop up sales figures and production #'s, otherwise they'll eventually run out of cash. The antiquated model of multiple channels has been proven useless over the past few yrs. And GM's 2005 $10billion+ loss this proves it. GM will continue bleeding red ink until they declare bankruptcy or trim severely trim production.

  17. Peter Lyon has a credible Toyota source, but I'm sure that's Japanese mpg, not EPA #'s. Either way the new Prius will get noticiably better mileage as the system improves.
  18. bitter?? daddy an alcoholic? parents divorced? total failure in life? thanks for pointing out what focusdchaos already said, now at least I got 4/5 right. :AH-HA_wink:
  19. funny for the past 5yrs I could've sworn Toyota owned Datsun. I wonder where I picked that up.

  21. This thread makes no sense, and is based on faulty assumptions.
  22. The new Aura should've been the new G6. The Aura will do little more than turn all G6 sales to fleet.
  23. 1st Datsun is now owned by Toyota. 2nd MB copied the interior and bangle rear for the new Sclass
