So that's why GM backed off. Wow, that whole company is messed up. They need to hire some people who aren't constantly screwing up their lives.

2007 Cadillac Escalade Standard Equip. + OPTIONS
Cadillacfan replied to CadillacCTS's topic in Cadillac
From what we've all read, it appears the Escalade has a different dash design and different radio and HVAC controls. I believe the people who designed the Maybach's interior did the Escalade's. Am I right? Paolino, seeing how the new Tahoe and Yukon interiors already have a two toned scheme, it's not like we'll have all beige, all grey, or all black like GM's current offerings. Even though there are only a couple of options, the new interiors are very colorful. Toyota does the same thing too if you're really worried. -
Although I like Pontiac, Saturn clearly is headed in the right direction by offering a full model line to compete against VW. Pontiac, on the other hand has good products. Unfortunately, some are outdated and others are just rebadges of chevys.(I'm looking at you Torrent and Montana SV6) GM has stated that Pontiac will be trimming down significantly but I don't think we'll see that happening for a while. Some dealers rely soley on Pontiac and not GMC and Buick. GM has to fix the dealer issue before it can focus the brands and make them smaller.

2007 Cadillac Escalade Standard Equip. + OPTIONS

I hope this means the pictures will be arriving soon. I really need to see the interior. I hope and pray I'm not going to be dissapointed. -
The Lucerne seems to be a solid effort from GM given what resources they had. Even though it's interior wasn't designed to look like a space-ship module and it doesn't have all the gizmos and doo-dads that are showcased on the Avalon, it's still a big change from Buicks that we've seen in recent years. It's attractive rather then dull and it's aimed right at keeping Buick's large sedans top of the sales charts. GM certainly did their homework on this one. I can only imagine what the next one will be like on the Chi platform. I think we should wait and see what the portholes look like on the new Escalade before we pass judgement. Sure, it goes against tradtion but if it adds a little style to the vehicle then I'm all for it.

I think what he meant to say was: a premium european brand in europe. Many europeans will not warm up to Cadillac simply because it's an American brand. They might with Saab.
-
Nothing wrong with that. Any good media no matter how "fake" it may seem, is still good media.

In related news, Toyota acquired all domestic and overseas GM brands, GMAC, overseas acquisitions, and vehicles except for the Sunfire. GM was allowed to keep that car. 98.4% of the jobs were sent overseas. Toyota’s CEO Fujio Cho said that he did not want to put all those Americans out of work. They were just in the way of Toyota spreading it's love across the land. THE END!! ^_^

TCC unveils Yukon and Yukon Denali early!
Cadillacfan replied to El Scorcho's topic in General Motors
I have mixed feelings about the exterior and while the interior is pretty much the same as the Tahoe, small changes make it look a little more upscale though I don't know if that justifies the price increase. I'm not really surprised. I know the Yukon and the Tahoe will be very close in style. I really can't wait for the Escalade. That's going to be really nice from what I've read. -
What so terrible about it. The current CTS is still a looker and the new one should address all the problems that are present. Though, I wonder what the next G35 will look like? That's going to be the real threat.

Anybody see the commerical for the new Saturns?
Cadillacfan replied to Variance's topic in Heritage Marques
I've seen it. In fact, TiVo sent it out to all of it's subcribers about a month ago. It was on my main menu for a couple of weeks. Really cool. -
Looking like a French Kappa car is good? Have you seen what the french have been making lately? Pure crap. Renault and Peugeot make very ugly cars. I don't care who says they're beautiful, they're not to me. This car combines all the bad design cues of several different automakers and wraps it in a tiny package. Too tiny for most people.
-
Probably not since they might accidently end up online. I'm not singling you out but anyone here myself included have the potential of posting the pics on a different website.
-
Well Subaru is moving more upscale so you're not that far off.
-
I'm getting a really strong Kia Optima vibe from the rear of this vehicle.
-
Well, instead of showing us the picture can you give your opinion of what you've seen? Is this a substantial update or is it more of a refresh?
-
Damn. I thought you had legally found these pictures? If they were on the net already, is there anything illegal of showing them?
-
I'm glad the Zeta platform is coming but with falling sales of large sedans and SUVs due to the high gas-prices hype, will these cars be too late to the party.
-
right... and the reason is?

T-tops on the camaro would be very 80s. I think having sliding glass like that would be somewhat innovative.

Well, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding of what you were saying. I guess just wanted to make sure you weren't one of those bashers who come onto our boards and cause all kinds of havoc. My apologies. I will agree with you about the H2. Although I got to drive one a couple years ago and thought it was a cool vehicle then, it's clearly a glorified tahoe. But you have to remember, this came out at a time when gas was still $1. I recently got to test drive the H3. Much more practical and much more attractive. It's rugged but not bulky like the H2. I find nothing wrong with the I5 engine either. It provides adiquate power. Besides, the H3 is intended more for rock climbing. Fortunately, the next H2 should take care of the mileage problem and the lack of off-road ability. The reason why GM is still throwing money at the SUV market is because everyone else is. Nissan just threw it's hat into the ring. So did Honda. Toyota has an even bigger Tundra and Sequoia coming to the market. Seeing how the current Trucks weren't very fuel efficient, I don't see how much better they'll be if they're bigger. Car companies are still making SUVs because there is still profit. Even though sales are declining, they still bring in the most money for companies like Ford and GM. If they were to stop devoting money into them, then they'd lose even more marketshare. The solstice and the sky will have enthusiasts models. Both with turbo-charged engines. They're already in pre-production stages.

Hummer isn't a joke. It's a niche brand and it serves it's purpose well. 300 H1s sold a year? Is that the exact number? The only stigma that the H2 carries is that it's not fuel efficient. If you find something wrong with that, maybe you shouldn't have that giant oldsmobile as your signature. Because the Solstice and the Sky are roadsters, that means that GM is copying every other roadster that ever existed under the Opel nameplate? Opel if you didn't realise is a GM vehicle. I don't know how it's possible to copy one's self. That doesn't make any sense. Also, you say that GM is doing it just to capitalise on a growing sport compact market. Last time I checked, there was one vehicle currently in production that just happened to be compact and a roadster and that's the miata. The Honda S2000 doesn't count because it's not in the same price bracket. Besides, what's wrong with GM capitalizing on a growing market? It would be a waste of money if GM spent money on an entirely new platform and then sold it in a market where barely anyone buys a vehicle of it's size, price, and performance. In fact, GM has predicted they'll still lose money on the solstice and sky since they're just niche vehicles. Also, just because the solstice and sky aren't based off an Lotus platform, doesn't mean they're dumbed down. It means they're cheaper. Haven't you read any of the specs or tests performed by all the auto magazines of the Solstice? Many people have stated that the Kappa platform in which the Solstice and Sky ride on, is very similar to the Corvette platform. It's just cheaper to make since they use a lot of parts from other GM vehicles. If you think that's not enough, then maybe cheersandgears isn't the site for you.
-
Or they could not build it at all and then fall further behind in the mid-size crossover SUV segment. Would you rather have that instead? They need to start from somewhere. Besides, everyone is copying each other these days. Do you think GM is behind the game with the Cadillac brand or the Hummer brand? What about the solstice? Is that a copy cat car too?
-
Well, by misleading I mean that I read Green and Sky and I didn't read anything else. I CAN'T READ!!!!! :(

The title on the main page for this post is misleading. I thought you had pictures of the Sky Green Line.
