How dissapointing. This was supposed to really be a class-leading vehicle but I guess Toyota doesn't want to alienate thier current buyers and make thier cars have an ounce of style. That's dangerous thinking.

Unless you want this site to shut down, I don't think you'll be seeing it anytime soon.
-
This may also lead way to Kerkorian's sudden and "coincidental" loss of interest in GM. We all know GMAC was what he was really going for, now that GM has cut it loose, he has no point to continue the charade.

Good catch Bimmer. I think the car is pretty hot. Though it's back end looks sort of like it was designed at the last minute which tends to be the case on quite a few vehicles. Otherwise, this is a nice styling evolution for Ferrari. Kind of funny how Cadillac is using the stacked, thin headlights on it's concepts too.

Ditto that VenSeattle.

zzzzzzzzZZ... what? oh sorry. I thought I was looking at a bright orange Escape. Oh wait. I am. Sorry Ford, but when you release a concept on the same day as the GT-R concept(a japanese sports car legend) in Tokyo, it's just not going to be as interesting.
-
So basically we're looking at the next G35 coupe? I think I remember reading that it would show up in the states in that form. If that's the case, this will be the first Japanese car that I'll drool over.

Saturn was created to compete with the likes of Toyota and now look where the brand is. It's currently on the verge of phase out and I'm sure we'd see it happen if it wasn't for the change in product offering. Sure, none of the products are out yet but by the time they will be, Saturn will be a completely different animal. It will be offering some of the best vehicles GM has to offer in terms of styling and variety. Competing against Mercury and Chrysler is setting your sights low. GM is aiming for the imports. So it's going to play at their game by designing their cars in Germany(Opel) but building them here to save costs.

As long as GM and Ford keep improving their car lines at the rate they're going, they should catch up to Toyota in no time. This is a very safe redesign mostly because they don't want to mess too much with sales. I can understand that. Though, I still think it's a very bland looking automobile.

Well, at least we are cool now. I should not have lashed back. I've been seeing a lot of people (not you) on this website being negative, insulting, and just plain awful towards other members in recent months. I took what you said a little too seriously. While I have to agree with your future predictions about where the market is going (crossovers), the GMT-360s shouldn’t be cut from GM’s lineup. I think the first Body on Frame SUVs to be axed at GM would be the GMT-900s. Sure, they were just redesigned but that doesn’t make them immune to the current high gas prices and a drop in sales. The mid-size BOF market still has a few more years left in it while the full-size market doesn’t because they’re just too big to get great gas mileage out of them. 20 mpg is pretty good for a full-size SUV but if gas prices keep going up, it’s going to become harder and harder for GM to keep people from buying smaller vehicles. Until people stop buying SUVs like the Envoy and TB, they should at least update them and bring them into the 21st century so they could at least go out on top rather than wither away into obscurity like so many previous GM vehicles. We’ve seen what GM was able to pull of with the gas mileage on the new Tahoe. Imagine what the next Trailblazer will be like. Sure, in the end, it would still be a waste of money, but it is not too different then what GM has done for a quarter of a century. At least they wasted the money on making a decent product.

How is this a new point of view on GM? This is the same gloom and doom crap that every other auto rag is telling to the public.

First of all, let me ask a couple of important questions: What the hell crawled up your ass? Did I say something way out-of-line to you that would make you resort to insulting me like a 5-year old? Grow up. Staying on topic: I can read evok but all I'm reading are cryptic responses. I have another question for you: Can you think logically? The mid-size SUV segment is the future. The large SUV market may be waving bye bye but the mid-size SUV market has potential since they're not 20 ft long and require 50 gallon gas tanks. Get it what I'm saying? Let me simplify it for you: Smaller truck = smaller engine = less used. We clear? No? Let me continue to educate you: Mid-size SUVs mostly use V6 engines( more fuel-efficient). The V8 engines in the GMT-360s (with the exception of the 9-7x and the EXTs) are optional while in the GMT-900s, they are standard. GM needs to invest a lot of resources into the TB and Envoy because eventually, the Tahoe and Yukon aren't going to be the top sellers anymore. Now, smaller is better for many car buyers in America. Don't you think that would include smaller SUVs? I'll answer the question for you: Yes.. yes it does. Who in their right mind at GM would avoid improving the GMT-360 twins and letting them stagnate when automakers like Toyota, Nissan, Ford, and Chrysler are bringing new and/or improved vehicles to the mid-size SUV segment? You'd have to be insane or really stupid to ignore that.

From what Flybrian said, the new Trailblazer's interior doesn't sound very impressive. I think if it looks more like the new tahoe's interior rather then the current TB, it will be good enough for me. The current one is just awkward. I would know. My sister just bought one. One quick question for those who have seen the pics: How does it stack up in terms of interior design. Does the dash have an original shape?

I wish they used a different grille in the front. There is something really off about it. It doesn't seem to match the rest of the car. The rest of it seems really nice though. If they fix the front, there's no doubt in my mind that this will be an even bigger hit then the current TT.
-
God. This is getting ridiculous. Why do car companies need to keep adding on to their transmissions? Is a 7 or 8 speed transmission really necissary? Someone explain why more is better?

Michael more isn't a documentary director. He's an entertainer. He makes movies aimed to people who already share his same viewpoints. It's not like he's single-handedly making people change their minds. Does anyone remember Farenheit 9/11? It was supposed to turn the tide in the election and guess who still won? A lot of people saw that movie as propaganda. He's a harmless person who's exercising his freedom of opinion. Nothing wrong with that. He may be an obnoxious, fat, an disgusting individual but he certainly doesn't deserve to die or be silenced.

Wow. Welcome to the board. I can see you're all full of happy thoughts and bubble gum smiles. It's called sarcasm. Of course I know GM didn't know. Before questioning my intelligence, maybe you should question your own. Oh, and if you are looking for me to insult you back, don’t get your hopes up. I’m not going to stoop to your level.

Nah... I'm always turning it off whenever that crap is on. Those bands are all over the place in America. I listen to more of the older bands like the Rolling Stones or the Beatles.
-
You think they would've done a little more work to make it look different then the current Escape.

Adding more vehicles to buick is the last thing GM wants to do and should do. Having too many models is the reason why current Buick sedans are soo blah. There's not enough money to work on one or two really good sedans. I think what Buick should do is drop the minivan, the rainier, and make their flagship car RWD.

Does me singing in the shower count? No? Oh.. well let me see... Female: Alicia Keys. She can really reach those high and low octives. She has great vocal range and her lyrics are more soul and not skank like so many female artists out there today. Don't really have a favorite male singer since they're all pretty much the same sound and all sing about skateboarding or being depressed that they didn't get the new Sony PSP game.

They also went on to blame each driver of the Prius for not checking to see if their car had this problem before buying it. Therefore, the issue is entirely the customer's fault. :P Toyota's luster is starting to fade and with a vehicle so crucial to their "green" image, quality problems with the engine will start to steer people away.....wait. What am I talking about? This isn't an American car company. It's Toyota! With the company's PR tactics, people will forget about this by saturday.
-
For some reason, the angle of the car in the first picture makes it look really odd in shape and appearance.

Although having unions is a good thing, the UAW is way to corrupt to make anything positive happen for GM, Ford, Chrysler, and the parts suppliers of America. It's like the United Nations of today. Everyone heading it wants their own piece of the pie and they pretend they're holding back for the people. Fortunately, the UAW is starting to get it's act together since slightly unhappy UAW workers is better then unemployed UAW workers.

Yeah. I was hoping for a turbo but I guess that's a more expensive option especially now that GM is only putting turbos in it's upscale European brands. They could've used Subaru's turbo technology, but that's out of the realm of possiblities now. Now Toyota has it. DAMN THEM!
