And for people who aren't familiar with Brit slang.. you meant cigarettes... or did you?

Awww.. someone has an inferiority complex!!! That's so cute. Bye. Come back soon!!!

The Camaros from the early to late 80s. Not cool looking at all. I know I'll get flamed but I just don't like them. The firebirds on the other hand were pretty cool.

The only car that would look better after you crashed it into brick wall.

Actually.. the weather for the past month or so has been really nice. All the snow has melted away and we've had warmer then usual temperatures in Upstate NY since the last couple weeks of december. It's going to get close to 60 today in some areas. Unheard of in January. Thanks global warming!!!!! ^_^

Next time.. don't use caps. In the internet world..using caps is the equivalent to yelling. Cadillac shouldn't copy.. they need to innovate. New technologies that nobody else uses yet. For example... the night vision.. Everyone said it was useless technology but now we are seeing more luxury divisions testing the technology out. LS460 may have a lot of features.. but it still lacks that German engineering touch that makes vehicles like the S-Class and 7-series so desirable. Besides.. the LS460 has a lot of "features" that other manufacturers are already using including the rear recline seats, the icebox, the auto parking system, and an MP3 player. Nothing breakthrough in my book except for the 8-speed transmission.. which is considered by some people as over the top. Styling is nothing to write home about either. Cadillac should definately not copy styling. Lexus could've made this car stunning.. instead.. they made it look pretty plain compared to an Audi A8, BMW 7-series, and the last generation S-class(new one is pretty plain looking too) oh...and regarding names for Cadillac .. did anyone else notice that DTS spelled backwards is STD? Interesting.

Of course the quality is crap.. but give China a decade, and they'll be producing some pretty good cars. They've had a while to learn from the Americans, the Japanese, and the Koreans. Heck, during the 80s and early 90s GM had ambassador programs in the US that brought in Chinese engineers to learn how to produce a good vehicle (even though GM in the 80s and 90s wasn't exactly a company that could brag about quality) You can bet that there are ambassador programs in Japan and Korea too. At the Tonawanda engine plant, they had dozens of chinese engineers that would live here, learn the techniques and then when they were done, bring back their knowledge to China. We have a family friend in China who now works for delphi and you can bet he brought back a lot of usefull information. China did it's homework and now they're ready to show the world of what they know. I'm telling you.. start learning Chinese because they'll be the economic power of the 21st century. It's been a long time coming too.

Minivans were proclaimed dead when SUVs started getting popular.. and yet they're still around and they're still pulling in big numbers. Now SUVs are no longer the vehicle of choice, people are migrating back to the vans. GM needs to stay with the minivan segment because it's still a somewhat profitable segment and it's still slowly growing. I also agree with people who say that Chevy should be the only brand with a minivan. GM's major problem with not being able to keep up has a lot to do with too many models. Having 4 models of vans spreads the amount of money out so thin that there is not enough money for each one to make them competitive. The reason 4 minivans is that while GM usually makes more then one model to maximize production out of it's factories in most cases, each factory only produce one type of vehicle. That's the reason for all the rebadging. The Cadillac factory in Lansing is the perfect example of what the company is capable of doing. They are produce three very different vehicles on the same line without having to rework any machinery. Hopefully, the Lambda vehicles will all be produced together including a future chevy minivan and because of that, they won't need to produce 4 minivans.

It should compete with the Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7-Series. The Imperial will probably not be built as nice as the concept since Chrysler is still just a mid-luxury brand.

I really think GM should limit the amount of platform sharing between Cadillac and the cheaper brands. I think the best thing about Cadillac now is that their platforms are very different from everything else GM has to offer. Keeping that unique aspect of the brand will be important to the future of Cadillac and it's buyers.

It's too bad that I'm 5 hours away from detroit and my Spring semester starts on Monday. I would've gone in a heartbeat.

NOS needs to stop reading Family Circus. That comic strip is just plain awful!

It's too bad. Hopefully, GM will make a product again that will make you want to be a fan again. It was hard on a lot of people with the loss of Olds but in a way it was good because it was phased out before any more damage could have been done. Looking at GMs current condition, I'm almost postive that if they didn't drop it then, they would've done it now. GM screwed it up and the executives had no idea on how to fix it so they just gave up. Makes you wonder how many other brands they were going to cut before they dealt with the backlash of cutting Olds.

You know as much as anyone else here knows... with the exception of a few people who know a hell of a lot more then any of us. The upcoming Malibu was shown to several members of the automotive press in the past year and it has been described by many as "stunning." I suggest the best way to look for information on this site is using the search tool up on the top of the forum page. We have several posts on the Malibu and many new models coming out in a few years.

Conspiracy Theory & Buickman? What's the deal with
Cadillacfan replied to enzl's topic in General Motors
Well, GM already has the hybrid in use on public buses in many cities across the nation. Why would GM have to pretend that they do have a working hybrid system when they actually do have one? Unless the buses aren't really hybrids.. but are running on *GASP!* ... PEOPLE!!!!! Josh.. seriously.. don't let Buickman post his rants on this website anymore... clearly he's lost his mind. -
I think since the news about Apple using intel chips came out, several Apple fanboys hung themselves with their mighty mouse chords. Hey, if it works better.. use it. Apple, for a while now has been ready to truly enter the mainstream with it's desktops and is really starting to push its way into the market more then ever before. I'm sure companies like Dell and HP are really starting to take notice and are prepping themselves.

Don't worry.. someone will find the position of the engine "innovative" and say that it's "something else that Detroit should worry about"

I think Cadillac needs another roadster like it needs a FWD vehicle. Roadsters are not what Caddy needs right now. Currently, the only brand that has two is Mercedes and that's it. BMW has the Z4, Lexus has the SC, and Infiniti has 0 roadsters and that brand is considered to be more of a BMW competitor then Caddy is.. which is sad considering that they only have 4 models that were made to compete (not including the Q45 or that badly built SUV that's just a rebadged titan) compared to Cadillac's 7 models (not including it's 3 V-series vehicles) The sedans need to be continously improved in order to stay with the competition. Work on the core models first and worry about the low volume cars last.

wheres the AV
Cadillacfan replied to moosc's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)
I too am slightly underwhelmed... not just with the American manufacturers but with all of them. This seems like a much less exciting show overall. Even though great looking vehicles like the Camaro and Enclave were introduced. -
If I'm not mistaken, the SRX will get an interior upgrade soon and possibly an exterior freshening though I'm not entirely sure about the second part. Then the CTS will be revamped both inside and out making it more competitive with the 3 series and G35. I think we can expect a coupe and convertable with it too. Then of course, the upcoming BRX compact crossover (based from a more expensive version of the Theta platform) which will be aimed directly at BMW's X3, and the future compact luxury utes from Infiniti, Acura, and Mercedes. The DTS will be replaced with a large RWD vehicle but when and what it might look like are not known yet to most of us. It may not be too busy right now for Cadillac, but by the end of the decade it will be.

I want this Camaro as is with the exception of the interior. You can change that. JUST DON'T cheap out on the interior materials.

2006 NAIAS: Lincoln MKX
Cadillacfan replied to Northstar's topic in North American International Auto Show in Detroit (NAIAS)
GM is really stealing Ford's thunder at this show. First the Hybrid Tahoe and Vue, and the Enclave, and now the Camaro. -
wouldn't you like to know!
